Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was a convention dinner. There were 250 people there, so this might not apply to individuals' experiences. I hate to be so blunt and harsh, but this was the worst food I've ever eaten at a function. (and I have been to many). For...all I know, they may have used outside caterers, and therefore, this awful experiment may be "atypical" - so please look at other reviews and see if a pattern emerges. Maybe the management was not entirely to blame.. but just from an eating experience, this was utterly abysmal. I know that concessions have to be made when 250 meals are prepared - but this was memorable as being a new low in food. The chef should hang his head in shame.More

My daughter and her new husband had their wedding at this gorgeous venue. Nothing was an issue, the staff were brilliant - well done Bernadette, Judy, Justin and the crew. My daughter wanted a dream wedding and that's exactly what she got! An awesome place...and I will definitely recommend it to everyone!More

What a beautiful picturesque venue. At a conference and dinner venue was a secret. Taken by buses to the venue. What beautiful scenery to be greeted by. Had drinks and canapés outside by the ponds, overlooking the ocean. Once inside the decor is stunning. Really...enjoyed the whole meal and felt it was enough. The dance floor is quirky, but a great idea to have it separated from the dining area so people can still talk. Had a wonderful night and highly recommend for corporate functions.More

The place is gorgeous and very picturesque. Staff were helpful and attentive. Booked this venue for corporate dinner. Flaws- food. Not much of it, small portions. Seating plan at venue didnt match what was given by venue beforehand which left members sitting far from each...other and disappointed.More

Glen Albyn Estate is an outstanding venue. The views are picturesque, the service is outstanding and the food is absolutely delicious. This was a true 'welcome to Tasmania' experience complete with locally source produce. The canapes, entree and sumptuous buffet were divine. Choosing a few...favorites is extremely difficult but I would have to say the Beef Tartare on rye toast with horseradish cream and crisp onion canape, the fresh sashimi entree was world class. For the mains, the braised and roast Beef Shank and Pork Belly (house specialty) kept you going back for more. When it comes to dessert..... there are too many wonderful options! Fantastic experience all round. Thank you Bernadette and Judy xoMore

Beautiful property - lovely food. They dealt with a big crowd well (we were there for a conference dinner). Make sure you go with some daylight so you can see the view

I recently enjoyed the the whole package of views, food and experience at an event "Ignite Tasmania" at Glen Albyn Estate. The views and lighting, firstly outside on the decking, then moving indoors gave warmth and excitement that continued throughout the night, showcasing Glen Albyn...Estate's stunning location and creativity. The food presentation and service is to be highly commended, then the surprise of live singers, impersonating as waitresses, treated us to Adele songs, and another two guest performers sang the dramatic Phantom of the Opera song....Excellent! Thoroughly recommend a wedding/corporate/birthday event at Glen Albyn Estate.More

Last month I had the privilege of being a guest at a wedding in Hobart. When the Save the Date arrived we wondered why our friends coming from a warm northern climate would want to get married in Tasmania? Well now we know why! Hobart...is a truly beautiful place with the most specular mountain backdrop, beautiful harbour and most noticeably the purest of air. We were surprised by the fabulous restaurants, attractions and places to visit in and around the city. The wedding was held at Glen Albyn Estate and was the highlight of our 4 days. This private venue is a hidden treasure, set in a bush setting with fabulous water views we felt a world away from anywhere but we only travelled maybe 10 minutes from our hotel in the city. Our friends were married under a tree on a deck surrounded by reflective ponds with stunning water and bush views. After the ceremony we moved inside to another stunning area where we had dinner and danced the night away on a glass topped pool. Our new found love of Tasmanian wine and produce continued with the most delicious food and might I say a beautiful sparkling from I believe Tasmania’s East Coast. The staff were most attentive, my partner particularly was impressed as he has special dietary requirements and his meal was in his words “as good I have ever tasted”. We spent 4 days in this wonderful city and will definitely be back again for a longer stay and we are even thinking of renewing our vowels, so we can go back to Glen Albyn Estate.More

We recently went to a surprise event held at Glen Albyn Estate: Ignite Tasmania. We were picked up and taken from Brooke Street Pier and taken on a tour to Despard Gallery, Seagrass Long Point and then Glen Albyn Estate. When we arrived we were...welcomed to a large deck that overlooked the Derwent River as well as an amazing light show, drinks and delicious canapes. We were then taken to a space with glass ceilings and a lit up floor area. The floral and decorations were breathtaking as well as the food that went with it. We had amazing performers and finally were ushered into a big shed like area where we had a cooking demonstration and dessert bar. I cannot recommend this venue enough! food was delicious, staff were amazing... it just felt so luxurious!More

We choose Glen Albyne Estate for our wedding day mostly for the view and the setting for our cermony as all of our guests were not from Tasmania, so we wanted something special. Well it was the best decision we ever made. Bernadette turned out...to be the most amazing wedding planner, she did everything for us..even made our bouquets, booked the band, hair and bus for us, and she has the most amazing decorations and ideas. All of the planning was so easy with her even being so far away, and then on the day the weather was great, the food and drinks and service was trully faultless and we have some fussy guests!. The day ws just everything we wanted and so much more. We cannot thank Bernadette and her husband and their staff enough. Big thumbs up from us.More

One of the most breath taking venues you will ever come across - indoor and outdoor. From the planning to the execution, our wishes for the most perfect party were certainly fulfilled here with the venue, food and service. The chef went out of his...way to make one of the tastiest Indian meals I have had, Jude, the events coordinator helped from start to finish and what a delightful person to deal with. And the cherry on top was the service provided by their most efficient, willing and smiling staff. I cannot thank you enough for making this the best celebration I have held. You made it so deeply special.More

Well we were on holiday in Tasmania in December and ended up being invited to a wedding in Glen Albyn Estate. We thought this would be nice treat for us but what we encountered was just amazing. The venue and location was unbelievable, The bride...and groom got married on the decking surrounded by ponds which was looking out over the water from the cliff edge. After the wedding the bride and groom went on a trip in a helicopter which (GET THIS) picked them up at the cliff edge and returned them 20 minutes later. The management and staff were excellent as was the food and drink . Just amazing. A PLACE I WILL NEVER FORGET !!More

Glen Albyn is an amazing wedding venue. The view over the river is spectacular and the hospitality is second to none. Bernadette made our wedding so beautiful and perfect, but also took so much stress out of the organization by being not only a venue...host, but the florist, stylist and organiser. She even made the cake. The food and beverage package options were extremely reasonable and we particularly loved the local Tassie option for everything. I couldn’t recommend them more highly.More

Enjoyed a work Christmas party here. Warm personal welcome from the manager in the magnificent pool and deck area, what a place to be with Tasmanian sunshine on our backs at 7pm! Excellent service throughout the night and great follow up later, searching for a...pair of lost glasses. Thank you Judy and Bernadette!More
