Their signature dish, a giant lamb souvlaki, is quite expensive but really good. Also, the dips as starter with pita bread were good (always given where you are and how far itis to Greece). The gyros combo was rather average.

One of the best aspects of a workaway trip is finding a quality eatery - and the Outback Bar & Grill is one of several in Coober Pedy.
I have had breakfast and dinner here and couldn't have been more satisfied or impressed. The staff are friendly and cheerful; the food is truly delicious and for someone who loves classic music, the background music is perfect.
Stop in and grab a bite - I am certain you won't be disappointed.

On my last night in Coober Pedy l decided to go to the Outback Bar & Grill and l wasn’t disappointed.
I firstly ordered a local beer to start with which was very nice.
Looking at the menu which is quite diverse l chose the dozen oysters kilpatrick along with a crisp organic Rose.
The Coffin Bay Oysters were very well presented, fresh and extremely tasty.
I then ordered the Saganaki Prawns in rose sauce with feta and parsley with a side order of pita bread. This dish was rich, saucy and delicious tho it would have gone better with a nice jasmine or coconut rice.
Highly recommend

Service was slow and rude, table and chairs were dirty when we arrived which they then blamed us for. Food was barely average in quality and was horrendously overpriced for what it was. Overall a very displeasing unpleasant experience.

Wow. Was not expecting such a great meal on our night in Coober Pedy, especially adjoined to a service station.
The staff were friendly and efficient and the food was fantastic. The three of us shared an entree of coffin bay kilpatrick oysters. They were a great size with plenty of topping and tasted great. For mains Xav had the Hawaiian pizza which he liked but was way too big for him. Teresa had the lamb chops with chops and salad. They were cooked very well with a nice little side salad and I had the Crispy skin salmon. Cooked perfectly on a bed of greens.
The price was no different than you would pay on a larger town.
We will definitely visit again on our return home.

Stopped for lunch, we had the steak sandwich and veggie burger, both items delicious and fresh with salad and chips on the side.
Went back in the evening for a pizza, ordered KYP’S special and was delighted again with a feast for the eyes and taste buds.
Thankyou🤗

Very few restaurants in town were open during our visit ( long Easter weekend ). So the place was packed, and at the time of ordering we were told the meals would not be ready for another 45 minutes or so. However, the souvlaki was worth the wait !
We found the back to be a lot quieter, as it gets quite loud in the front part of the restaurant.

Had a great meal here after thinking it was just a roadhouse . Recommend the grilled meats and Greek style salad with lamb or chicken , Great value and flavor . Friendly no fuss no bother service .It was obvious a lot of locals were eating here , always a good sign . Dont be put off by the fact that it is a restaurant attached to a road house . Will be back next time we are passing through and probably tomorrow morning for breakfast .

Unfortunately we chose this place to celebrate my son’s birthday… none of the three boys, which included the birthday boy, liked the pizza. I also did not particularly enjoy the lamb yiros. Also, the 10% discount from the accomodation only covered the food, but not the discounted pizza - not worth rhe discount…. $93 on food and drinks $3 discount….

On the way to Yulara, took an overnight pitstop in Coober Pedy and hadd their signature Souvlaki and I can assure you it was the best tasting and best presented souvlaki that I had in my last 12 years in Asutralia. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and juicy, fries were soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside and the accompanying salad was great too. Add to that the lovely staff, it’s something you should not miss when staying in the town.

The restaurant is part of the local Shell filling station, the food is in line with what you can expect from a service station, edible but not particularly good.
Had medium rare scotch fillet, which arrived medium well at best, and a burger with the lot.
Cannot recommend the burger.
Best part of both meals was the French fries.
Service mediocre, one meal arrived with cutlery and one without, no beer glasses provided without asking, beer list looks good, it isn't, after asking for 3 beers on the menu, none available, told to look at the fridge to see what is available.

We called in for tea when staying overnight in Coober Pedy and were very impressed! The menu was very extensive and the prices are very reasonable. You have to order at the counter and pay up front but that is no problem. The staff are so friendly and the service is quick. There is a decent range of beer, spirits and wine available so it isn't too hard to find a drink to enjoy with your meal.
In no time our dinner was served. My very generous serve of lasagna was so tasty and truly was home made. The chips were crisp and brown and the salad was actually fresh and edible. My fellow diner enjoyed a chicken parmigiana which was demolished in short time so it must have been good.
Even though the Outback Bar & Grill is part of the Shell servo, don't let this put you off; it punches well above the usual fare of roadhouses. In fact, there were quite a few locals having tea there which is always a good sign. The place is spacious, very clean and the air conditioner works a treat!
Also, they do the best egg and bacon sandwiches and coffee but you need to wait till they open at 7am. So worth the wait!

Me and the Family had lunch at the Outback Bar & Grill and the food was absolutely delicious. I Had the Signature Greek Style Lamb Souvlaki and it was spot on. Marinated was spot on. Salmon was cooked to perfection. You much try their Greek Style open plate Yiros. Pizza cooked amazing. Never seen a roadhouse with beer on tap. Even have a a Coober Pedy Lager. We ended up receiving a fuel discount voucher. Very clean and excellent service. Highly recommend.

We had two family lunches at the Outback Bar & Grill and on both occasions the meals were great! Yiros was fresh and filling was generous. Kids meals also were great value and presented nicely. Free jug refills of soft drink was a good bonus with thirsty kids. Nice and clean - a quality place to dine when in Coober Pedy.
