Was so looking forward to this dining experience but the restaurant was closed. With so many people in town, it was surprising to see that the Desert Cave Hotel couldn't have managed this better.

For such a remote location the food ever was fresh, tasty and well presented and both food and wine were good value. The access to the restaurant is quite special through remnant mines and up an impressive stairway and the atmosphere in the large restaurant...was pleasant. The staff were very attentive.More

This restaurant is part of the hotel complex and is up a few difficult flights of stairs. The food is good quality and well presented. The menu is not exceptional but service was good. The wine list is reasonably comprehensive. The decor and atmosphere of...the restaurant has been carefully developed. Unfortunately we were located next to a table if loudmouths, which spoilt the meal a bit. I think that this is the best restaurant in Coober Pedi, so give it a go.More

The restaurant had an advertising board in the hotel entrance with a dinner & drink deal for $48. It also had a lovely sounding full menu displayed so we booked a table. On arrival we were told the dinner & wine deal was not available....No explanation was given - though still advertised in hotel. The full menu was also not available & we were given a much more limited one. My first two choices of entree weren't available & there were no vegetarian mains.More

It's not fine dining. Not much on the menu and not worth the cost. Food is average and the service slow.

Stayed 3 nights in Coober Pedy and whilst the food and service night before in a local bistro was good I thought I would treat myself to an up market evening and i twas worth it. Ambience, service top notch. Food great and I will...definitely eat here if I ever get back to Coober Pedy againMore

I booked a table for 2 indicating it was my husband's birthday and having looked at the menu in the reception decided on the kangaroo as main course. However, after we sat down a grumpy waitress told us there was no kangaroo on the menu....As we pointed out it was n the menu at reception, she relustantly went to get the chef eho tols us if we wanted kangaroo we had to go to the opal mine place upthe road as it had been taken out of Umbertos . We settled for the lamb - which was very good - but no gesture or apology was offered which I think is pretty poorMore

Good food. Good atmosphere. Colin almost forgot part of our order, but was quick to fix it. Love the food, and lovely music played over the speakers.
