This restaurant is part of the hotel complex and is up a few difficult flights of stairs. The food is good quality and well presented. The menu is not exceptional but service was good. The wine list is reasonably comprehensive. The decor and atmosphere of...the restaurant has been carefully developed. Unfortunately we were located next to a table if loudmouths, which spoilt the meal a bit. I think that this is the best restaurant in Coober Pedi, so give it a go.More

The restaurant had an advertising board in the hotel entrance with a dinner & drink deal for $48. It also had a lovely sounding full menu displayed so we booked a table. On arrival we were told the dinner & wine deal was not available....No explanation was given - though still advertised in hotel. The full menu was also not available & we were given a much more limited one. My first two choices of entree weren't available & there were no vegetarian mains.More

It's not fine dining. Not much on the menu and not worth the cost. Food is average and the service slow.

I booked a table for 2 indicating it was my husband's birthday and having looked at the menu in the reception decided on the kangaroo as main course. However, after we sat down a grumpy waitress told us there was no kangaroo on the menu....As we pointed out it was n the menu at reception, she relustantly went to get the chef eho tols us if we wanted kangaroo we had to go to the opal mine place upthe road as it had been taken out of Umbertos . We settled for the lamb - which was very good - but no gesture or apology was offered which I think is pretty poorMore

Good food. Good atmosphere. Colin almost forgot part of our order, but was quick to fix it. Love the food, and lovely music played over the speakers.

We stayed in Coober Pedy over the July 2020 school holidays, as Coober Pedy was my home back from 1995 - 2003 we always enjoy going to the Iconic Desert Cave. Meals and all up staff where great, visit Coober Pedy and make sure to...enjoy the Cave's walk through tunnels after a nice lunch, dinner and wines are priced bellow the city's , good red wine selection and very well priced, not any 5 star restaurants offer wine under $40 and the meals & service was 5 Star.More

This restaurant delivers outstanding food. The restrateur is a little eccentric. He was unimpressed when we arrived via the spiral staircase and told my wife she was not listening when she told him Vodafone is not available and he told her it might be working...due to height. We were then taken to a lovely table and offered the menu. We chose the three course set menu special. It included a glass of wine. He took pity on us and filled our glasses to the brim. It was a delicious South Aussie Shiraz. Our entree was green bean soup with garlic bread. The flavour was superb. This was followed with a Japanese inspired tuna meal on a bed of avocado with broccolini. Another excellent dish. The servings were generous so we were a touch full when the delicious panna cotta arrived. The meal was excellent.More

We decided to celebrate a family members birthday by eating out at Umbertos for the occasion. I am glad we did as the food and service were great. As mentioned in previous reviews it was more pricey than other eating choices in the town however...the food was good & it menu choices great. The kids menu also has reasonable choices. On request staff also bought out one of the amazing desserts (Lava Cake) with a candle so we could all sing Happy Birthday. We also had fried ice cream and banana spring rolls as dessert. Loved them all.More
