The lamb kaftas are to die for!! Side salads a little light as the day progresses as if they run out towards the end of the day. Not enough hummus in my opinion with the kaftas so we always order an extra pot

Great service, lovely food. Friendly staff! Took a friend visiting from Melbourne and she loved it. A great local style cafe serving fresh delicious middle eastern cuisine.
Simply a fantastic dinner. Succulent chicken and garlic dip to die for. Delicious lamb kofka w the best hummus I’ve ever had. Fatoush salad- simply the best! Excellent wines. Very reasonable price for a generous meal. We didn’t book so had to sit outside. They...gave us a heater and our meals came quickly. BOOK if you want to eat inside. Overall a fantastic meal. We will be back.More
Walked in for lunch and seats available outside. Was cool and braziers were on. Received water and drink ordered straight away. Food was fairly quick and absolutely delicious! We had the chicken skewers and lamb skewers with salad, pita and hommus. The flavours were amazing,...salad dressing so good. Freshly made pita and hommus outstanding!More
Woeful and disappointing experience. Booked the night before, arrived, seated, ordered drinks and then told we had to leave within 90 minutes as this was the 'first sitting'. No-one had mentioned this until after I had ordered expensive wine. Management (or whoever had the in-charge...hat on that night) offered no apologies at all. This was a family get together. I will never go back and have eaten here over half a dozen times. Disgraceful customer service.More
Have been to the restaurant before and have enjoyed the meal as food has always been good, but lately the service has detoriated so much, there seems no management presence at all, service element is completely missing they need to go and learn basic sequence...of service and rudeness with customer will not last long. Hope the management/ owner understand and take this feedback in a constructive way!More
This used to be my go to cafe (Halifax St), food and service were very good even the take away during covid. Went a couple of days ago and although I had booked a table they didn't have the booking fortunately they had a table...anyway. Food was ok the wraps were fine but a haloumi salad was less than average and the coffee just ok. Service was a pass. Overall it was a 6-7 out of 10. I never see the owner there now maybe he spends his time at Burnside but needs to keep a closer watch on Halifax stMore
Was keen to go here as my brief takeaway visits from the one in the city left me wanting more. Food didn't disappoint, but service was terrible. We booked, they didn't know where we would sit, were offered a table in the sun (on a...38 degree day!). We said No. But never mind a table was just leaving so we had somewhere to sit after all, and just in the nick of time we were about to go somewhere else. Asked if we wanted water, we said yes (it's 38 degrees and all the windows/doors are open so yes, we would like some water to start), another staff member asked us if we wanted water, we said yes. Eventually I waved down a staff member and asked for water and to order. Water came, food came. We asked for a soft drink. No drink and again, no visit from a staff member until we waved. Asked about the drink, the reply was "oh we're out of that one didn't anyone tell you?". Eventually the re-ordered drink showed up. Then it's time to pay the bill, there's a cocktail on it that we didn't order and the comment was "Oh, is THAT where that went". Doesn't this business realise good service is how you make money in this business. Good Luck because I won't be back.More
When to the Burnside cafe today and sadly we found it lacking. We had booked for lunch but they couldn't seem to work out which table was ours, so we just had to stand around while it was sorted out. Music was so loud it...was impossible to have a decent conversation. The 2 dips were pleasant enough but the very thin saucer sized pita bread weren't enough for the amount of dip, and there was no sign of the bread having been anywhere near the wood oven. The mains - lam were nice and the fattoush was a good serving but there were 3 tiny pieces of pita bread in mine and it was extremely oily. Can't comment on the coffee or dessert as after wait staff walked past our table 3 times without clearing it or asking if we wanted dessert/coffee, we paid and went elsewhere. Perhaps they were having an off day. The mezze Martini ($20) was very good. I really wanted to like this place but we won't be going back.More
Had breakfast on what turned out to be a crisp January morning. Friendly service , indoor and outdoor options and a different middle eastern spin on brekky. Loved it. Can’t wait to get back for a dinner.
We have been here several times. We have tried many items on the menu, each one is a winner. So much flavour. Helpful and friendly staff. The dips, the pita, the meat.... you leave well fed and satisfied. Tip, order extra pita bread, you will...not regret it! It also pays to make a booking, they get pretty busy.More
We stopped by for breakfast and sat outside under the shade. We ordered coffee and checked out the menu. We opted for the Ballaboosta breakfast and the Mediterranean Omelette which had a gluten free option available. Both turned up promptly and tasted great. The Ballaboosta...breakfast was like a mini pizza with a flatbread base. The service was quick and friendly and the price was pretty reasonable.More
We were craving Grilled meats and Salad, and that’s exactly what we got, with a plus of amazing customer service! The drink, foods and staff are 100%.
Well, we are here again and so not disappointed. What a wonderful experience and exceptional food. Consistently very good... this is fourth time at this restaurant and it never fails to deliver. Will keep it on our forever list forever 👌💗
First visit to this restaurant having dinner with friends. It’s small and cosy giving it a nice ambiance. A bit cold in winter as we were next to the open door but we just kept our coats on so wasn’t a problem. The service was...good and the food was delicious. It’s a great menu for sharing and great value for money. Those wood fired pita breads are amazingly light!More
