Luigi and team, thankyou for one of the best breakfast experiences we've ever had, not just in Australia but across the world. We are visiting Adelaide from Queensland and my trip advisor research certainly paid off in booking a table for Sunday breakfast, this restaurant is worth its top rating. No menu as such, the team put together the most amazing shared breakfast platter featuring house made items such as baked beans, polenta chips, hollandaise and other spreads and sauces, bread and Italian pastry with eggs, bacon, avocado, spinach, mushrooms, it just goes on! We enjoyed this with an equally incredible espresso martini because it's 5 o clock somewhere right!!! Thanks again...we will be back next time in Adelaide!

Not your typical New York deli as we know them. The ones that display and sell lox and bagels, sausages, cooked meats, various cheeses and exotic foreign foods, plus made-to-order pastrami sandwiches. I guess I’d call this Luigi a concept restaurant. It’s not usually open for dinner but made an exception for Valentines Day so when we showed up for takeaway coffee that morning we were able to book for that evening. What a treat...and a feast! There was a set menu for $80pp which included 3 share platters heaped with an array of tasty items. The starters included house-made focaccia, smoked trout, bruschetta, calamari, figs wrapped in prosciutto; the mains were a blue swimmer crab linguine, chicken skewers, lamb, and lots of roasted veggies. This followed by 4 desserts. Each platter presented beautifully. Here the atmosphere is casual but attractive; service is friendly yet attentive. There was a solo gent on guitar to add ambiance that evening. We were staying in a nearby hotel apartment and returned a couple days later for our take away coffee. Matt and Peta remembered and welcomed us. We enquired about their breakfast menu and were told there is no menu. The menu is conceived daily depending on what is available at the Central Market a block away. When we heard a description of what might be on the share platter for $34pp we couldn’t resist, and returned the next day before departing for the Barossa Valley. It was a decision we would not regret. Once again a huge array of all things breakfast...sausage, bacon, perfect poached eggs, avocado, asparagus, spinach, feta, smoked trout, mushies, rosti, polenta chips, a couple dips, a Parmesan sauce, and their version of baked beans. Plus a bowl of berries to complement the lovely zeppole, an Italian doughnut. Luckily our new friends were happy to wrap the half we didn’t finish so we enjoyed it all again the next day in our little cottage. The zeppole and berries became lunch that afternoon. Luigi Delicatessen is an experience I look forward to next time we’re in Adelaide. A great staff of “family” who seem to love working here. Thanks to Matt and Peta for their welcome and the great service from everyone here.

We went for breakfast after reading the great reviews. It was a surprise to find out that they have no menus (or prices), but we are so glad we took the “risk” to go with the flow and order what the waitress recommended. The food and drinks (coffee, hot chocolate) here are amazing. We had the breakfast plate the first time and the second time we had Lamb ragu and freshly made bruschetta. The staff are great and make you feel welcome. We also had the pleasure of meeting Luigi who treated us (and our little son) like we were old friends or part of the family. Would definitely recommend this place for breakfast, lunch and even dinner (they have life music on Friday nights). Prices are a bit higher than in your “typical” cafe but this is not your “typical” cafe and the food and atmosphere is definitely worth it. We will be back next time we visit Adelaide.

Came here for dinner, the food was delicious and service friendly. The disappointment was with in less than an hour we had eaten and were walking out with left overs to take home ............so much for a Friday night out........We had literally just sat down when the menu was explained to us and were asked what did we think we may like and what did we think of sharing( as this was an optioned ) We mentioned the dishes that we were considering when in actual fact we were ordering without realising..... we then had just ordered our drinks, they arrived very quickly as did the 3 dishes. The dishes certainly weren’t portioned for 2 people nor was the price so we paid for 3 full meals for 2 people and at $34 and $36 it makes it expensive for what ended being a quick meal.

Our breakfast at Luigi Delicatessen was absolutely aokay. Our food and drink went down well, we had a nice spot outside, we weren’t rushed and we were attended to pleasantly. Our feeling, however, is that having no menu detracts from rather than adds to the enjoyment. The idea that they can really cater to whatever you feel like is strange for me because until I see a menu for inspiration I rarely know what I feel like!! Logically, the waitress tells you first about their breakfast sharing board and, for their sake, as it is a fairly pricy option, hopefully you will go with that option before you hear the rest. It certainly did sound and look like a comprehensive serve of lots of interesting bits and pieces. But if you don’t want such a feast then you get told about the various other options. The dishes we had were good but having no idea of price, because there is no menu, did mean I was somewhat surprised to find I had paid $27 for just a ‘good’ dish when we looked at the bill. I would think a breakfast dish should need to be something pretty special for that price and unfortunately the baked beans on the dish were too bland to be able to call the dish special - they seemed not to have any seasoning at all? On our other dish the mozzarella was great but the eggs had too strong a flavour of the vinegar from the poaching process. Every skerrick on the plate was eaten - it was all more than edible; just not special. Iced coffee was great but should have had vanilla or coffee iced cream and not chocolate to be extra great. Coffee on the other hand was well priced and actually excellent.

...went to Luigi's for lunch yesterday. Prior to going had a few mixed reviews from other people - mostly to do with price. Yes, so it's a few dollars more for a plate of pasta than other restaurants, but from my experience I'm willing to fork out a bit more for delicious pasta and exceptional service, and Luigi's supplied both. The pasta with vongole was the dish of the day, but can also recommend the ragu and the crab. The platters going to other tables looked fantastic. And Luigi is the host with the most ! ......final word - try it out for yourself......

We had a lovely dinner at Luigi’s on Friday evening. They do not have a menu so the lovely waitress spent at least 5 minutes at our table explaining the food available (which included a lot of options). They recommended the trio of pastas. You choose 3 of the approx 10 options - we had mushroom gnocchi (the best), and 2 of the spaghettis, one marinara and one seafood. We had a bottle of wine and a beer and a garden salad. I cannot overstate how good the food is and the service is even better. I was a little surprised at the cost at $150, so just watch that if you are on a budget.

Luigi’s Deli must be rated as one of the best all round dining experiences not just in Adelaide, but Australia wide. Their breakfast, lunch, and dinner options mean you can enjoy fine food every day. The establishment is newly designed, modern and provides a wonderful ambience whether you sit indoors or outdoors and it’s very warm and cosy too. The creation of their signature breakfast and lunch platters is awesome and you never leave with an empty stomach. It’s genuine homemade authentic food – flavours of homeland Italy and other varieties too. There’s no set menu which is the exciting part as Luigi’s talented chefs are truly artisans, allowing them to create and express whatever desires one’s mood and appetite – using fresh local produce as well. The support staff are very engaged with Luigi’s philosophy of providing the ultimate customer experience and service and every time I’ve dinned in at Luigi’s, there’s no doubt that each and every meal is made with love.

Popped into Liugi for breakfast this morning. The breakfast platter ($A34 per person) was extraordinary. One of the best I have had. It was complemented by a breakfast cocktail ( yes, slightly indulgent) that was superb. I had the Hot Mama (Kailua, vodka warm milk and cinnamon). Anne had a fig themed affair. The platter contained plentiful amounts of high quality bacon, tasty pork sausage, fluffy poached eggs with a delightful hollandaise sauce, bocconcini, polenta, and potato slices. This was further complemented by homemade mashed peas, beetroot and avocado slices. The service was excellent and Luigi is very proud of his team in the kitchen and his wait staff. The open plan kitchen and schmick decor added to the marvellous culinary experience.

First timers there, we were a table of six celebrating all of our 40th?? birthdays all rolled into one due to Covid. Food was absolutely amazing which was brought out on a board to be shared and was recommended by Luigi himself. It certainly did not disappoint. Their cocktails are pretty good too. The staff are to be commended for their expertise and professionalism, always smiling and nothing seemed to worry them, obviously due to Luigi himself, which makes it for a very relaxed atmosphere. We were so impressed with this place we are planning another visit very soon, this time bringing our partners along.

While the food and service was good, the wait staff do not listen to your requests. We asked for an entree of garlic prawns, garlic bread and a salad and they took it upon themselves to bring out a full prawn platter at $128, plus $15 for garlic bread and $19 for the salad! So entree was $162 for 5 people. We then ordered 5 entree pasta dishes but was charged for mains. I queried this when I went to pay and the waitress said yes I have given you discount. My invoice totals to zero, not showing the $544 I paid for our meals so I couldnt tell if I had actually received the discount as it didn't show it on the invoice. When I got home I added it up and she actually hadn't applied the discount for the entree size meals we received and I did actually pay for mains for all 5 pasta dishes. When your bill comes to $544 I think it is important to get the bill right and not overcharge. Even if it is $25, why should it be in their pocket rather than mine.

Whether you’re on a date for two, bringing friends in the office for lunch, heading on a double date... I swear this is one of the best experiences anybody could try when you come to Adelaide. Luigi’s customer service and passion exceeds expectation - and the story behind luigi’s and his beautiful Mamma makes it that much more loving and tradition. Truly an experience for the soul! Pasta Boards, Seafood Boards, sensational breakfast, live music, sweet cocktails... the list of deliciousness goes on. All made in house!

5 mins walk from Victoria Sq. Ended up going there unplanned. Boy, weren't we surprised by the food and service! Sunday lunch and was busy. Interestingly, there is no food or beverage menu. The waiting staff give you an overview of dishes that can be prepared and can be customized to your taste. We had a platter of 3 entree size pasta dishes (2 from their recommendation and 1 was our creation). Food was served in 15-20 mins. Taste was absolutely out of the world! Best pasta dishes I have had in a long time! Mind you, each entree size of dish were large enough to be served as main course!! Although busy, the waiting staff did not show any tiredness on their face. They were all a cheerful happy lot; some even singing or doing a dance move as they crossed paths while carrying dishes or drinks. There were at least 4 of them checking on us or just stopped by to have a conversation. Loved the food. Loved the service. Definitely going back (in a hurry).

Went to Luigi Delicatessen for lunch. The food was delicious & service great. Our lovely waitress suggested a share plate so we had the chicken dish, crab spaghetti & a pasta with chick peas that I can’t pronounce but was definitely my favorite. I recommend anyone try this for a classy, tasty meal especially if celebrating an occasion.
