Wanted to try somewhere new and this place looks cool and funky. Went with my wife on our anniversary, walked up to the bar and asked the female bartender if they had a popular local sparkling Pinot noir. She couldn’t possibly have answered with more...disdain when telling us no and when asked what sparkling wine or champagne they had, she managed to answer through her sneer that they didn’t do any sparkling, put the wine list on the bar and walked away. So we did the same. Shame as it looks like a nice place but when there’s so many cool bars around Adelaide you don’t need to put up with terrible service.More

Love the big table for a group to sit around. We went early and had the place to ourselves - cool vibe, chilled music and friendly staff.

Definitely worth a visit. The mixologists really put on a show. The quirky laid back give of the venue was spectacular. Will definitely be back

Visited with friends whilst down for a conference. Really extensive cocktail list with both steady safe options alongside very elaborate pieces. It’s the kind of place where the making of the cocktail is an event in itself so you don’t mind paying a bit more...for them. My less adventurous friends liked the beer options too. Would recommend the Harry Potter & Sherlock Holmes cocktails!More

A friend and I popped in here "just to see". What a hidden gem! We'll definitely go back. The bar is dark (and a bit noisy), but it's quaint and unusual. The cocktail list is extensive, and David behind the bar knew his stuff! Pop...in if you are in the city.More

Great atmosphere here, with the books and the lighting and the general ambiance. The cocktail list is extensive and inventive; the list of cocktails on the web site doesn’t do it justice, as we found many more in the menu book we were given and...sampled four different ones in all. The literary themed names for the cocktails works well and each one we had was delicious in its own way. We had the olives and house pickles for snacks; there’s an array of cheese options but I do agree with other reviewers that there should be more vegetarian options. I took three books in and came back with two pleasing finds, and I like the idea of exchanging and donating books. Access to the books can be difficult once people sit at the tables and it can be a bit dim to read the titles but overall...loved it!More

A cosy little bar hidden away amongst the night life of Adelaide City. Great place to relax after a big day out and not too busy. Loved the atmosphere with all the books around.

Hidden little gem of a cocktail bar in the CBD. Not only did this place have incredible cocktails it had a relaxed style 1950's speakeasy feel about it. With very helpful staff to point you in the right direction of what drink to pick, you...definitely can't got wrong here. I had the Singapore Sling and it reminded me of sitting at the Raffles in Singapore sipping on the classic original.More
