A group of us did the Feed Me banquet. It was totally delicious with a variety of tastes and textures. The staff were attentive and accommodating. We loved their initiative of giving the corkage fee to the bushfire appeal. Definitely on the ‘must return’ list.

Again we selected Soi38 to celebrate our wedding anniversary and again they lived up to previous reviews. Selected the "Tour of Thailand" package and wow this was delicious. Complimented by choice wine and beer to match each course from each region of Thailand, the experience was a delight and represented great value for money. The owners and staff are special, they offer a genuine willingness to be of service and are well versed with each menu. If you haven't dined here and love Thai style food, add this to your must do. Will not be waiting for the next anniversary to dine here.

We could not fault the food or the service. The food waiter (a lovely woman) was well informed about the dishes and made suggestions about food combinations and wine without any pressure. We took her advice and were not disappointed at all. The food was amazing - fresh, creative and beautifully presented and the service was fast and friendly. Love also that when you book on line, you get an email with good information about parking etc. Will be back for sure!

We went with anticipation as previously was recommended to go a few years ago. Unfortunately the dishes we ordered just wasn't made well and was very hard to eat. The bbq heritage chicken had good flavours but the chicken was dry and one piece was actually black burnt, not just charred. The sticky kangaroo tail with tamarin and siracha was so, so tough...I have never ever at a restaurant said I actually couldn't eat it, but we couldn't separate meat from bone and just had to leave it un eaten :( The whole baby Barra was the only dish that we enjoyed from our night out. While the staff was very friendly, the service was lacking. We didn't receive the drink we ordered and they came to apologise for the late drink, without the drink, but strangely asked if we still wanted it?? We said no. As knives were provided, we asked for knives twice before they remembered to give it to us. Trying to get the bill was very hard as the staff just didn't keep an eye on all the tables regularly to see if anyone needed attention. My neck was strained from looking up hoping to catch someone's attention. Unfortunately I don't think we will be returning next time. Very disappointed after so much anticipation.

Firstly I must say it is quite rare for me to write a negative review as we are not hard to please, but you can only comment on the meal that you experience at the time....I still cannot believe how our experience does not equate to the favourable reviews here!! We went on a public holiday & the restaurant was not that busy. We ordered including wine but then some 20 minutes later I had to request my glass of wine again, when it finally arrived it was a lovely Riesling at $12 & was the smallest glass of wine I have ever been served, when I ordered another wine a Rose it also was so small I queried it & was told they serve 125 ml but I doubt it was even that ! On the food front, the lobster spring rolls at $21 for 3 small rolls tasted mainly of the spring roll wrapper with very little lobster & lobster flavour. The sago dumplings had quite a nice flavour & were different but very tough & chewy $15 for 3 dumplings. Massman Beef Curry was fairly tough & dry beef, flavoursome sauce but a fairly small serve at $30 with the steam rice accompaniment $4 , I thought generally the dishes were expensive for what we were given. Overall .....disappointed with the service on that evening, the portions & flavours did not live up to the well rated reviews this restaurant has....maybe it was an off night? but would not return. Booked in with a party of 6 and not one person was disappointed. The food was tasty and well presented. From the "Adelaide Special" which my daughter enjoyed to the Massaman curry and all in between the food was flavoursome and good value. The staff were friendly and attentive which enhanced the whole experience. A must for locals and visitors alike.

Honestly the best thing about Soi38 wasn't even the food, although that was still some of the best I've had anywhere. The best thing was the service, all the wait-staff are incredibly friendly, happy to have a chat, and I loved that they explained the food and dishes we were eating. Would definitely go back and recommend Soi38.

Sadly this was a poor choice for us for my birthday dinner on a weekend away from Sydney. Admittedly it may be our age - in our sixties but from the moment we walked in the noise was intense. My husband said ‘there goes conversation tonight’ though clearly younger people around us were enjoying shouting over the din. When we stepped outside after our meal the peace was a huge and welcome relief. Re the food, they obviously use quality ingredients and an innovative menu. I chose oysters for starters that were delicious but too hot for me. We ordered to share a pork dish which we were told was spicy which we would normally love. But they meant chilli not spicy. My husband loves a good vindaloo (though it might bring me to tears) but even he ate sparingly and my lips were tingling for ages after. Better advice and better choices might have produced a more enjoyable evening. I didn’t even like the wine choice by the glass with their white house wine tasting like a weak cask or clean skin. Overall not an experience we would want to recommend.

Finally tried Soi38 after long build up. Worth the wait, the food, atmosphere and staff all lived up to expectations. We opted for the feed me option and started a journey from North Thailand to South. Every morsel was a delight, detailed explanation of each dish served, and nothing overlooked. Wine selection is outstanding and staff are very knowledgeable on all wines on offer. We arrived hungry and we were very impressed with the quantity of food as we are big eaters. Can't wait for our next visit to this fabulous restaurant experience.

You need to book regardless of the day as it fills up really quickly. Fantastic authentic curries and stir fries with fresh flavours and ingredients like local pippies, prawns and fabulous pork belly. Good wine list. BYO is an option but I would only recommend it if you have and amazing bottle you want to drink as corkage is quite high and their own list is good. We had table of three and shared 3 mains, a glass of wine, a dessert (between us) and coffee for $50 each. Excellent value.

Long, thin contemporary Thai , uniquely busy in the area. The local craft beer was excellent and the food was light, flavoursome and great value. This was not traditional Thai food, it tasted spicy and healthy and although we eaten our fill we didn't leave feeling stuffed. Excellent dinner choice.

We found this restaurant while walking around the city center shopping area. The staff let us sit right away and we ordered the barramundi in salad and chicken in lemongrass. Both dishes tasted good. The fish was very fresh and the mangoes were very tasty. Definitely worth a try if you’re in the area.

Five of us had the $70 set menu at a late sitting. Restaurant is attractive, and the staff welcoming, friendly and attentive. Excellent wine list Each dish was explained in detail when presented. Presentation, design of dishes, quality and freshness of ingredients was very good. Our only criticisms were that the quantity of the food was excessive - we had no option to choose from the a la carte menu, which might have allowed us to choose less. We understand the economic pressures of operating a restaurant and that $70/head for food might be necessary to cover costs, but the set menu was simply too much food. Of greater concern is the ambient noise. Staff and customers almost had to shout to be heard.

Hands down the best Thai in Adelaide, in fact it's the best Thai I've ever had. Now in their new location on Pirie St the bar has been raised with a swanky fit out, incredible cuisine and outstanding service. Do yourselves a favour and book ahead to secure a table. Go for the "Tour of Thailand" for $70 a head chef Terry Nattawoot will take your taste buds where they've never been before. Hottest restaurant in town.

We walked in off the street without a booking early on a busy Saturday night and the staff were friendly and welcoming. They’ve got a great, reasonably priced, wine list with lots of local wines. Service was really friendly and the food was fantastic. Informal, but not noisy or looking cheap, it was comfortable and busy. The quality of the dishes was great and the staff really happy to explain what things were and how to eat them.
