The night started off with my booking being cancelled without notice. They eventually found us a table once I showed the booking confirmation email. The waiter was beyond rude and clearly hates his job. We sat down around 9:15pm. Surprisingly, the time of our previous...confirmed booking. The restaurant was packed. We were rushed to order our food and despite there being at least another 40 customers in the restaurant, they wouldn’t take anymore orders from our table. They forgot the salad which they recommended. Just when we thought this experience couldn’t get any worse, we witness one of the chefs abusing a female staffer to the point it felt like he was about to get violent. Not a single staff member jumped in to assist the young girl all they asked him to do was to keep his voice down. This venue is the most overrated venue in Australia with ordinary food. If I could give them a zero I would. Never again.More
Adelaide’s slice of Rome
The previous night we did a walk up and could not be fitted in, so from there we knew we needed to go back. Well tonight we went back, from the minute we walked in we felt like a part of...the family. A busy busy place but everything works and the personalised service is amazing. The waiter gave us his thoughts on what was good and at no stage tried to up sell us anything, he even suggested we downsize on serving size and he was right.
We had the mussels and eggplant for entree and both were amazing, followed by the mussels and veal for mains #mindblown.
The coffee afterwards was first class and to finalise the experience Frank the Manager suggested a glass of Montenegro which I had never had before, he provided two of these free of charge and WOW what a special way to end a special night..... thank you Frank and Team.
When Frank discovered we were out of town (Canberra) and that we were heading to Hahndorf and Barossa he suggested and wrote down places that were worth visiting.
Hey Frank and Team .... we will be back 🌟More
Haven't stopped talking about our amazing meal at Amalfi's last Wednesday! We eat out 2 or 3 times a week but this great place is No 1! Haven't been here for years (moved south onto a farm) but will be back as often as possible....I have severe allergy to anything hot and spicy but the marvelous young Chef made me the best Spaghetti Marinara I've ever had! Sublime! My husband's pizza was- as everyone else has said -.fabulous and delicious! The Maitre D was perfect, and staff very attentive, personable and understanding. Thank you, all Note : reserve your table or you'll never get in !!!More
6 of us visited on the first Saturday night of the Fringe festival this year. I had booked our table quite some time before, so I was therefore surprised and more than a little disappointed that I found we were seated outside (the road was...closed) and that the menu & wine list was reduced. A little better communication at the time of booking would have gone a very long way.
To her credit, our waitress acknowledged my concern, sourced the full wine list for us, but we were still left with the limited menu and our high table & stools. I in face ended up standing for much of the night, it was more comfortable. I get why the restaurant were doing what they were doing, the demand was obviously there but as I have said, I think we were owed the heads-up.
Despite all of that, the food as always was great. Fantastic flavours and generous servings. Of course we will be back, but it probably won’t be during festival time.More
The wife and I came here last week and everything was great. We had the mussels and the Saltimbocca, bother were very good, we accompanying this with a nice wine. Service was fast and friendly. Highly recommended.

After spending time trying to find a decent Italian / Pizza restaurant in Rundle Mall ( were ignored by 3 ) , we found Amalfi just around the corner. Thank goodness we found it, we just had the seafood Pizza and was 1 of the...best ever. Whilst they were very busy and we did not have a booking, they still looked after us .
Clearly this place is loved the owners and staff , it shows in every way , a stand out in Adelaide. If I lived in Adelaide I would be a regular !!More
