The food here is excellent,it is full of flavour, a real ‘cooked with love’ feel about it! It was a very busy night, our table was outside and our waitress was a very young, blonde girl (sorry, we didn’t get her name) and she was...excellent! Great food, wine and service, highly recommended!More
Very noisy and busy. Haven't been here for 30 years and the decor hasn't changed. I'm always searching for the best local Italian restaurant and choose the Veal Saltimbocca as my test. It was nice while not being the best. Cuccina Cuccina in Rome #1....Cafe Bounguorno in Norwood #2. Amalfi #? We might come back in another 30 years.More
Not as good as the reviews suggest. Arrived and promptly seated. Water and menu offered. Had to ask what the specials were - nothing offered off the cuff. Ordered some herb bread to start then meals. Bread came and was RAW in the middle, sent...it back and they then bought out three pieces of foccaica type bread that appeared to be toasted but was stone cold? Pasta dishes were very nice but not amazing. On paying they stated they didnt charge for the bread! Wow, would not have wanted to pay for it anyway.More
Our Booking was not confirmed - When we arrived we were told It was cancelled ! Excuse : Everyone uses this laptop .... Got a crap table by door. Constant staff running in & out. (seating outdoors) Yes its popular , yes its busy ....I went for the Zingarella pasta , more honey than chilli. In my humble opinion. The staff gave a disinterested vibe ... So over all disappointing.More
We were in Adelaide for a short break. Adelaide Fringe Festival buzzing people, performers everywhere. Our hotel next door to Amalfi, when we got here during the week. My wife was having a craving for chilli mussels. But due to the Fringe, on Fridays and...Saturdays, Amalfi (and most restaurants in the Adelaide area) have a special Fringe streamlined menu. Unfortunately no chilli mussels 😢. We thought the food was going to be mass produced, churned out, not so good food. We were all surprised, when the food came out. Our friend Louie and I started eating our ragù pasta. The flavours, the taste, the texture, the use of real beef meat (instead of mince and little pieces of beef meat, experienced at other restaurants over the years) Louie and I being of Italian heritage had child hood memories flooding back of nonna’s and aunties home cooking, as they say cooking with love. Louie’s wife had a pasta Neapolitan, same as our experience with the ragù. Flavours intense & more than satisfactory. My wife ordered the Amalfi pasta. The flavours were to die for. The cream sauce had a lovely amount of chilli, not too hot, hotter than black pepper but not burn your mouth out. She commented that the fact normally with a white sauce can be heavy on the tummy. In actual fact we all didn’t feel bloated or uncomfortable. Highly recommended a must in Adelaide Amalfi Pizzeria and Restaurant.More
Thanks for your visit and for your appreciation of what we do at Amalfi. See you next time for mussels!
If you come to Adelaide you must come to this superb Italian restaurant. We stopped in without a booking at 6:00 pm on a Monday night, and the place was packed. We were ushered to a table by the attentive staff who looked after us...with efficiency and friendliness. The food was amazing. Even if you are hungry, the entree size will fill you. Highly recommended.More
Wide range of meals, both menu and blackboard. Waitstaff pleasant, all meals,we had were great. Generous portions, good value. Need to book unless happy with outside table.
Booked a table at 5:00pm due to being jet lagged , etc. We arrived at five and were “greeted” by Samantha who was VERY rude. I told her we had a reservation which she could not find then showed her the email confirmation. She was...still confused and acted like we were fibbing about it. After 5-6 minutes she finally agreed to seat us … begrudgingly. The place was still EMPTY. Now the food and waiter were really really good and we enjoyed the rest of the meal . I mentioned to our waiter about Samantha and he said she was under stress due to some large groups arriving later. Anyway other than the terrible hostess the place is good.More
Thank you for visiting Amalfi and thank you for taking the time to write this post. I’m sorry to hear that your booking and seating experience was handled in such a poor manner. We will take on your feedback. Although at times the bookings can...More
Why on earth don't they have accessible entry at this bustling, profitable, classic Adelaide restaurant. It's clear that multiple points of entry that could be used by a person in a wheelchair have been closed off to fit in more tables. I wish Dylan Alcott...would visit this long time establishment to highlight how frustrating - and frankly insulting - it is for wheelchair users to be excluded from the premises. A problem that could be easily fixed. Very disappointingMore
Hey Brian Stafford aka 266bmd, We acknowledge your comments regarding access. There are some compelling reason why our restaurant is set out the way it is and why we no longer have an access ramp for our customers. The Australian standards regarding access exempts existing...More
Ordered Con Pollo pasta and a garlic Bread through Uber eats. I ordered from here as I expected a Main meal size and wanted to get something quality and payed extra as I have dined in the restaurant before. $30.95 for a small Asian takeaway...box of average dry pasta really not worth the price. I could have ordered from some of the local Pizza bars or Cafes and would have paid less and received more for my money and better quality. I feel ripped off and probably wont return to dine in person anymore. Way overpriced for the size and quality. Don't offer deliveries if our going to send it like this and charge what you do.More
Great place with a very lively and friendly atmosphere. We booked for a Monday night and glad we did because the place was full. The menu is very interesting and gives plenty of options, and also various special dishes each day. Service was also very...friendly and efficient All the comments on other reviews such as "A little gem", "Must visit!" are all totally correct.More
Thanks for your visit!
Hubby and l visited this restaurant while we were here holidaying upon my colleague's recommendation. We are not disappointed at all. In fact, it is the best Italian l had in a while.
Thanks for visiting, so nice when a recommendation delivers!
Must visit!! Amazing food, friendly service, lovely atmosphere and generous portion sizes. Would suggest you book as they were super busy. Highly recommend the con pollo 🙌🏼
Lunched here while in the CBD. This is a classic Italian "family" restaurant. Good service, excellent food and a welcoming atmosphere. Just off Rundle St and one to remember when being out with the Boss shopping. A peaceful oasis!
