Last minute choice on a Friday night, we had the Moroccan goat curry and the duck confit. The curry resembled meat pie filling and tasted similar. The duck was boring and served with some lettuce and figs. Overpriced and boring.

Good but not outstanding is the best way to summarise SQ. Not crowded during lunches, the large dining space provides a quiet enough atmosphere for healthy conversation during your meal. The twice cooked pork belly with shitake and soba noodle was good enough but lacked...anything to suggest any effort to make it a better tasting meal. The sauce was way too salty, and the pork belly pieces were too few. However, a previous item on the menu, peking duck risotto was delicious.More
Pleasant and enjoyable meal at hotel restaurant! Enjoyed a daily special of fritto misto (whiting, prawns and soft shell crab). Good service and pleasant atmosphere!
I eat here for quick and easy business lunches as very central CBD (located in Mantra Hotel in Hindmarsh Sq) and usually do not need to book. Plus provides the option to sit outside in the warmer months. The lunch menu is not extensive but...has enough variety to cover most needs. On the recommendation of the staff member, we both chose one of the specials on the day, the Wagyu schnitzel with chips. And it was superb, Yes I'm talking a schnitzel here, the crumbing was absolutely awesome being crunchy and not thick or a gluggy mess, meaning the meat flavour could come through and it was tender. Service was ok but not a big problem as we were not there for the dining experience. There is also an adjacent bar if wish to have before after drinks with lounge seating.More
Food was nice. Service ok. Disappointed that the coffee machine was “shut down” so we couldn’t have a post meal coffee (it wasn’t late by any means!). The number of customers in this restaurant must be the difference between astute service or desultory service. We...were the only ones there unfortunately.More
Definitely should dine here if you are staying at the Mantra. Not great ambience but great food and wine and convenience more than make up for it.
Excellent !! I was looking for steak but the salmon was perfect, number one in my list of dishes here in Adelaide.
Went there last night for dinner, what can I say great service great food. Will certainly go back there again. Would highly recommend going there. The staff were brilliant!
Restaurant seats 58 with attached bar and lounge area, tastefully furnished over looking Hindmarsh Square (hence the SQ branding) Duck two ways special entree was fabulous- well presented and flavourful. Garnished with micro herbs- perfectly cooked. Choc brûlée with vodka jelly- sensational Very good dining...experienceMore
Enjoyed a lovely late breakfast here with the teenagers, mr 16 ate so much he didn't need lunch! Great fresh food and choice, would love to come back again.
Had a fantastic meal tonight at SQ the chicken dish just melted in your mouth and the service was just as good. Would highly recommend the SQ restaurant in the Mantra hotel on Hindmarsh Square will definitely be back!
We had dinner there our first night as we were staying at the Mantra and was already quite late. We found the service and the food very good but maybe a bit pricey. We also found was lacking of healthy options. We had breakfast there...too was great, heaps of choice and good quality food.More
Had a business meeting hear with some colleagues. We were having coffees only. Service is abrupt and not customer friendly.
It was hot and thirsty weather after a day at the TDU Cycling, my office is only a stone's throw from the restaurant and we had walk far enough so booked a table. It was a quiet Sunday afternoon and w were pleasantly surprised at the...prices in a restaurant attached to a hotel. The place has a nice comfortable feel and the young lady (Anya) serving us who originated in Armenia was delightful. The menu although not extensive, has something for everyone and the prices are extremely affordable. Wife had a Prawn and Octopus salad and said the prawns were excellent, friend's wife and I had the crumbed flat-head, although a little dry, still tasty and the Green mango, and it was excellent. he had the lamb special and said it was also excellent. Plenty of chips in a serve and the bowl of vegies also plentiful. Plenty of Tapas share dishes. The service was excellent and friendly and drink choices also very good including a few craft beers. All in All a nice end to the log hot day and with our entertainment book. Food - 7.5/10 Drinks - 7/10 Service 8.5/10 Atmosphere - 7/10 Overall - 7.5/10More
We went last Saturday night for dinner - it was really quiet with 3 staff working 4 tables of patrons so clearly not busy - and found the service to be terrible and inattentive. Seated us without interest in taking a drink order. Ordered an...entree and mains - staff asked if we wanted bought out at same time - said no - but meals were all still delivered at same time regardless. Asked for my meal to be brought when entree finished - but then couldn't get staff attention to bring the meal back. No hope of getting a second drink. The menu at the restaurant is not what is advertised on their website either. Food ok - but with the bad service - it's a miss from me!!More
