The setting is very nice. The staff very good. The food, however, was a bit ordinary. Dumpling and samosa entrees were good to start with. The chicken curry bland, the Dahl likewise. The lamb curry was ok. Fudge desert stodgy and not very tasty. All...in all, an average experience.More

An authentic resturant with friendly staff and good food. Entree were chicken skewers, onion fritters, lamb kebabs - these all were amazing. Mains consisted of chicken and coconut and lamb dish. Accompanied with garlic nan and dal. Very tasty. Was a good night, good food...and friendly staff. Well recommended.More

Great menu and wine list, beautiful food and friendly service. Loved our meal here, the flavours in the prawn dish and the chicken curry were outstanding. Will definitely return.

This is a long established restaurant which offers authentic cuisine with a pleasant and peaceful ambience. The food is well prepared and delicious, while the staff are friendly and hospitable. Frankly, I thought the prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food and...service. Well worth a visit for a pleasant dining experience!More

If you would like to visit Nepal without leaving Australia, then go to the Himalayan Kitchen restaurant in Melbourne Street, North Adelaide and experience the Nepali culture as well as the food. Himalayan Kitchen has been run for many years by Bhim and Holly and...features many Nepali cultural items and musical instruments. After dinner their daughter Maya will bring you a singing bowl and show you how to make beautiful sounds with it. Himalayan Kitchen has a wide range of food and caters for vegetarians – we had the banquets which give you a taste of many different foods such as dahl lentils, curries, breads, side dishes, desserts – delicious. You can make an evening there eating and learning about the Nepali culture. Parking is easy around the area and it is open in the evenings except Mondays. You can also order take away. Enjoy the hospitality of Holly and Bhim and Maya – and you don’t even have to leave Australia to be in Nepal in Adelaide.More

Nice place, loved the decor. The food was a bit different to what we tried in Nepal, but in a good way! Their take on Dal Bhat was interesting, all mixed in one bowl. They've got cheap prices. I really liked the sauce in their...chicken curry, and the momo sauce was yummo also. There was a bit of a stuff-up with the bread, which we sent back since it didn't come out until after most of us had finished eating. That's more of a kitchen fault I think. Maybe work on timing. We will be back though. The food was worth it!More

My husband & I always go to this restauarant each year when in Adelaide. We rang to book & at same time enquired about a corkage charge. The guy who answered the phone said he wasn’t sure. In previous times we haven’t been charged. We...decided to BYO as corkage isn’t usually much. Had a lovely evening & the food never disappoints along with the atmosphere with the singing bowls after our meal to play. We finished our evening, paid our account & didn’t check at the time til we got back. On our receipt it showed Corkage charge of $29! We rang the next morning & were advised corkage charge is $14.50 per bottle. As it was we they opened 2 & we only drank one so took it home. This is not advertised nor are you told before you open your wine. OUTRAGED particularly when we had enquired.More

I had dinner here with a large group of friends which Himalayan Kitchen accommodated for wonderfully. The waitresses were very friendly and after dinner the waitress and chef brought out some traditional instruments which they showed us how to play and then let us have...a go. It was a wonderful and traditional experience and I would definitely go back!More
