Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Later on Monday public holiday, staff were really nice & looked after us really well. We shared pizza , Arancini & a couple of drinks. Just a nice feel to this place, ever reliable for a good feed.

Great hard working (and engaging) staff. Found us a table each time we lobbed in without a booking. Great food. Good atmosphere. Family friendly. What more can you ask for.

It's Extremely rare that I give 5 stars... But this time it's for one of the bar girls.. she gave impeccable service over and above.. ( she had a nose ring and some tattoos, not that that narrows it down these days) 5 start for...her service but generally really only a 4. It's open late which is awesome for. Sunday. The decor is bland, too bright and no features, atmosphere or ambience. Prices are expensive but I think it's just normal for Adelaide. Outside seating was good.. location great.. I didn't eat but the food looked good. The bar girl even offered to cook me chips or wedges once the kitchen closed. I'm be back while im in town.More

Ok so we booked to lunch before the football. We arrived and after waiting what seemed like an eternity to be shown you our table, we were informed we didn’t have a booking in the pub, we would have to go upstairs.. ok wasn’t the...end of the world. To cut a long story short it was table service, trying to be upmarket.. again fine no issues. However the food and drinks took an absolute eternity to arrive. People all around were complaining. The food was very average when it did finally arrive. Strangest garlic bread ever , was soggy even the kids wouldn’t eat itt try. My Schnitzel was just a normal pub schnitzel, oddly came with Jus, a thimble full. I asked to buy some gravy or sauce .. they didn’t have any. Chips were not nice , like fries made from unpeeled potatoes, oily. My wife enjoyed her barramundi, but on the whole there are far better places to eat in the cityMore

Ordered the falafel from their lunch special for $12.50. Three tiny pieces the size of a 50 cent piece arrived with poor excuse for "tabouli", chopped tomato and fried shallots. Falafels were so dry I couldn't eat them. Luckily I ordered a side of sweet...potato fries! Other meals ordered at our table included salt and pepper squid which looked great. If you are going to offer something that is bought in please taste them first or don't offer them at all!More

Beautifully refurbished had drinks downstairs then dinner in the restaurant upstairs. Drinks were reasonably priced and we caught the end of a happy hour with a good selection. Food was amazing and the wine list in the restaurant was great. Steak, chicken and really good...vegetables.More

We are not sure when the hotel had its ‘makeover’ but it has been a very long time since we were last at The Strathmore dining upstairs and our first impressions were that it feels very cold and casual compared to before. Sure, it is...a pub, but we always remember upstairs having a more upmarket and ‘warm’ feel. It all started out well with some friendly professional service and nice Penfolds glasses of white wine to start whilst our red wine was decanted in readiness for our steak. The ‘partnership’ with Penfolds and the separate Penfolds menu is good but the wine list is generally very good and varied too. When the steaks arrived, one was perfect and one was very overdone. Both were meant to be medium rare but one of them was medium to well done sadly, so it was sent back and the wait for a replacement was long and irritating, much longer than they indicated it would be, BUT the steak that was ultimately delivered was EXCEPTIONAL. The chef sure got it spot on the second time! Not sure about the chips being drizzled with the steak’s juices??? but….did I say the steak was EXCEPTIONAL? Despite the success of the steak second time round, the restaurant doesn’t really have any soul and the desserts were lacking so it is probably not a repeater for us as all round it didn’t really hit the mark.More

After a Long wait for mains the 3 out of 12 of us that ordered steak had our meals delivered first. It looked as if the others' meals would be a while longer so we agreed to tuck in. After we'd applied salt and pepper...to our steaks the waiter came back and advised he'd delivered them to the wrong table. We protested that they'd been seasoned AND been sitting under our noses for a while (in these Covid times) but he took them away anyway, and delivered them to another table!!! My second steak was not cooked how I'd ordered either😒More

We had a dinner on Monday evening. The restarant was full and we have spend more than 20 minutes in the line yo order our meals. Then we waited for another 20-25 minutes for our food to arrive. The fish was served cold and undercooked...inside. In the lamb pasta it was no lamb. My panocota arrived before my main and was in nanno size. It was the worst dinner ever and great disappointment. As a response to your complaint we've received only sorry-not good enough for a spoiled eveningMore
