Nice place for a pot and tea and a cheeky scone among friends. A few bikes seem to hit the road for this drive. A bit of scenery along the way and staff are friendly. Good as a group or just to go and relax.

Wow! We visited the Tea Rooms after we heard that they made their own scones. We weren't told that they also used fresh cream. The Tea Rooms are a colonial hotel, slab building. Seating under the extensive garden trees. They have a beautiful self-guided walk...More

The drive was great just to get there. We had a toasted corn beef and cheese sandwich which was melt in your mouth. The area was beautiful, a lovely quiet place.

Yes, yes and yes. I always tell people that Piper's Lookout at the top of the range is one of the best places to view the greater Townsville region. And yes, the corned beef really does taste delicious when served in a toastie.

We enjoyed having the excuse for the 50k drive in air-conditioning to this historic tea room - only about a degree cooler up there though! We enjoyed our lunch, but felt the girls serving could have been a bit more cheerful - blame the heat...More

Thanks for visiting Lindsay. Yes we are all feeling a bit flat in this unprecedented heat - staff and gardens included. There is no escaping the hot North, Westerlies even for us - bring on the sea breeze....

These tea rooms are just a short drive from our home on Townsville,s northern beaches so we tend to visit them often. Driving here is a pleasant experience as the road surface is good and the views from atop the range can be very photogenic...More
