We ordered a carbonara and a spicy pepperoni pizza to share and sat outside with a bottle of wine from the menu which was reasonably priced (for a restaurant) at the last minute we ordered a garlic bread at the recommendation of our waitress. The garlic bread was delicious (make sure you both have some... as it was definitely garlicky) and more of a garlic pizza, definitely a must have. The rest of the meal was definitely enjoyable but the garlic bread was definitely the stand out.

Delicious pizza and pasta for all the family. They even have Gluten Free options for the Coeliac in our family. Pizza was authentic and the pasta amazing. We went on an all you can eat night for $20 pp which is great for theboys or good eaters. The Aperol Spritz won me over! Such good food.

Our group of 8 all enjoyed our main meals. Proper Italian Pizza! Dessert was really slow (they were very busy by that time), my sister in-law didn’t like the tiramisu and the donut was average. We would definitely eat there again, just skip dessert or maybe try the dessert pizza..

After arriving early we were ignored for a long time and only left 1 menu to look at. It took a long time to be served and we had to call a waitress to request some drinks.
The drinks took a long time to be brought out and again we had to ask to order starters stating we were hungry and wanting food.
After half hour no starters or order taken for our mains, again had to ask if they had our starter order and the waitress could not even confirm this.
Eventually food turned up and it was lovely.
When paying the bill in the middle of it the lady took a phone call. We stood around for 10 minutes while she talked on the phone and got lost as to what she was doing taking my cash and paying eftpos for the remainder. It turned into a total mess and I suggested she should not be on the phone or have taken a call whilst serving us.
After around 15 minutes and a big mess of people trying to figure out what was going on they finally sorted it out. This then took my car park over the allocated time and cost me another hour in car parking.
Based on the shocking service I couldn’t recommend this place and would not return.

For as long as it has been open, this place has been mu go to pizza place on the GC; far superior to Gemelli and JustinLane, until my most recent visit.
It may be these covid days, but it is not really an excuse for poor service, compounded by rudeness.
As a big truffle fan, I ordered the premium priced truffle pizza - supposedly a signature pizza. When the perfunctionary "how is everyting" question came, after one had barely had a chance to try the pizza, I asked if there was actually any truffle on my pizza, as it was not evident.
The first response was, unbelievably, that truffle is very subtle! Next was they use truffle oil - the menu says truffle paste. I am not a fan of truffle oil; if the menu had stated that that was what was used (or not!) I would not have ordered the pizza. The last slice had a mere suggestion of truffle.
Again, when paying the bill, the Manager came up and again engaged about the truffle issue. I was prepared to let it go, but the manager was vigorously defending the correct portion of the almost non existent truffle product.
Mistakes are made; own them and move on. Don't debate with the punters, especially when the kitchen clearly made an error.
SMC is now off my list. Sadly. 0/10.

I had high hopes for this please as I have eaten at another one at another location. We had a table of 6 and got pizzas and pastas. The pizza looks amazing but my gosh is the base so soggy it’s not crispy at all they are wet. I read another review like this and just thought maybe it was a one off thing but it wasn’t. The pasta was nice but for Italian food the portion is so small. We had the bolognese and it was $25 for literally a tiny serve look like it was from the kids menu.
The staff where nice but not attentive you had to ask them for things instead of them asking us

We went here on the last night of our trip after reading great reviews. We weren't disappointed.
The service was great and friendly, the staff guided us really well including a difficult dietary requirement (Italian food wasn't made for dairy intolerances!). The wine was great and chilled perfectly for the warm evening. The food was great and all really tasty (including the vegan cheese). The only negative is that we ate far too much!!

Absolutely unreal. I visited Salt Meats Cheese while in the Gold Coast for Business. I just happened to search on google ‘restaurants in surfers paradise’ and their food looked amazing (via pictures). From when I walked in the door to when I left, the service was impeccable, the staff where very friendly, warm and inviting. Checking in with how my food was at just the right amount (not hounding but not lacking), checking if I wanted another drink etc. the food was absolutely incredible, so fresh and so tasty. So much so I booked in again for another night. I thought, my time here has been amazing and the food is delicious (can’t forget that Italian Red Wine too!!!), so I thought; I’m going to come again, and (not surprising at all) the consistency of their service and their food was impressive. I was beyond impressed to say the least. I noticed they have ‘top 5 pizza in GC’ on their chalk board, top 5? This should DEFINITELY be #1 - without a doubt.
I have told so many people about my experience at Salt Meats Cheese Surfers Paradise already, this is definitely a winner in my books and I will be seeing you guys again in the future when I come down here next.
P.s. you’ve turned a white wine drinker into a red lover!!!! That Italian red is so tasty!

How can you make a pizza with a cheese that cannot get melted?
It's not about you're making a vegan or not vegan meal. It's about that you have sh*t ingredients for vegan pizza. It's about quality. If you are not gonna make good vegan food, just don't make it. What is the idea of making sh*t vegan food just because "you have get options for everyone" ? I've tried lots of good vegan pizza in Qld and GC, but this one was a joke.
(I chose this one because has many vegan options so I thought it could be good)
(of course I put it in the oven a bit more and nothing)
Waste of money.

Hubby and I got a pizza each delivered and they were delicious. He got the four meats and I got the prosciutto. Unlike many places they didn’t skimp on the prosciutto (or any of the ingredients) and the base was absolutely delicious.
So happy there is a Salts Meats Cheese local time us as we haven’t tried it yet, but now will have to test our local one!
Pizzas were $26, but wow were they worth it! (We had a little leftover and that was after stuffing ourselves because it was too good not to try and finish) 🤭

Decent Italian food chain. We had pizza ,pasta and salad. Pizza was good sauce was a little bland.
I liked what they did with the pasta. They take a wheel of Parmesan cheese, scrape it out and then mix the pasta in. So good.

So, I am an Italian and whenever I eat out for Italian food I'm usually pretty disappointed. However, the food her I cannot fault at all. Everyone here is Italian as well they speak Italian and know how to cook the food. The wood fire pizzas are one of the best on the coast and the pasta is so fresh and amazing. I would recommend for everyone if they want some decent Italian food.

Friends and I went on a Tuesday night. We ordered the pizza bread starter, but it was a little burnt, hard and cardboard-like. I got warm marinated olives, but they were cold and I had to get them heated again which took ages. 6 out of 8 guests got their meals well before a friend and I got our pasta. We had to ask them to check it and I’m pretty sure they forgot. Most of the other meals were finished when we got it. Our pasta was room temperature when we got it and the pasta was barely cooked. The wine was good though. I don’t think I’ll be visiting again.

Myself and my partner have travelled to surfers paradise a couple of times in the past few years. We were lucky enough to stumble across this Italian earlier during our first visit. We have dinned there 2 or 3 times per trip. We will be back for Christmas this year and I have already reserved a table for 7 people on the 26th December. I can't wait 👌

Last minute decision to try a new restaurant paid off in a BIG way. Service was lovey and they were pretty busy with big groups too.
The food was amazing and as stated in the title the best pizza we’ve had outside of Naples!! The truffle pizza was mind blowing - I was offered chilli oil on the side so I said yes but it was so perfect I never even touched it! The crispy prosciutto salad was easily one of the best salads ever - you CAN be friends with salad! Don’t miss the Nutella donuts either!
I can’t believe we’ve never been here (as locals) but our bad; and we’ll make up for it - we’ll be back!!
