Overall not bad. But nothing to write home about. We ordered takeaway, the meals might have been better dine in. Pretty expensive if you ask me.

Just tried to make a Future booking in this Resturant today and was spoken to by a man in the rudest, misleading manner that I was left totally stunned. Will never book here! If they can’t even be civil when you book a table, imagine...how you get treated when you dine there! Unbelievably RUDE!!!!More

As Gold Coast locals, we've had lunch at The Fish Emporium a few times and it is always a good experience. Normally there's plenty of undercover parking, the view overlooking the river and Surfers is very "Gold Coast" and the meals are just right for...lunch. Just 2 things bug me : - a good selection of wines, but the cheapest bottle starts at $ 47 . . . - at the main entrance, I happened to notice a sign advertising their "Autumn Special", which was a meal deal of 2 courses for $ 39 (see photo). Once at the table, no mention is made of it, they don't hand you this "special menu". You don't ask, you don't get . . .More

We just turned up with no booking tonight and were incredibly impressed with the service and the meals. The manager was outstanding, pleasant polite and service focused. We ordered and meals turned up at an appropriate time and enough time between courses to enjoy but...not wonder if they had forgotten us. Meals were excellent and we will 100% be going back there. Thanks to all.More

What a anti climax. This place may have been a well known place back in the days but now it's all tourist coming and the food is disappointing. Do not touch the fried fish with chips. The Tasmanian oysters were good though.

Came here at 6:30pm and they said that they run out of everything besides barumandi. The customer service was absolutely horrible as they were rude and told us to take whatever was there or leave it. Online the pictures and reviews looked good for this...place so we decided to go here. One of the items on the menu had a box with many things but they didn’t have one of the things so they said they would replace it with burramundi. Once we got our order we decided to check when we got home as it was really cold and rainy. We drove 20 minutes for absolute rubbish food which was overpriced for what we got in the end. When we opened the food we were supposed to have 3 burramandi and we got only 2. The fish and calamari was soggy, chips looked old and tasted stale. If they were really a good restaurant they would care for there customers to give them good service and good food all the time. We came all the way from Melbourne to expect good fish and chips from the gold coast which was even worse. I could have had better food even from a local shop... I honestly don’t recommend and please don’t consider going here!!More

I visited this restaurant after reading the previous reviews and we enjoyed the experience so much that we went back the following day to watch the sunset and try some other tempting dishes on the menu. On our first visit we ordered the tempura bugs...and the salt and pepper calamari. The bugs were outstanding as was the calamari. We expected a small entree size but found after sharing these generous sized dishes that we would need to visit again on the following day which was our last day in Queensland to try the other dishes that caught our eye So glad we did as Chris arranged for us to share the seafood chowder followed by the prawns and bugs and the amount of food was just right. This restaurant is a hidden treasure that shouldn’t be missed and was by far the best restaurant we visited on our trip to the Gold Coast. Chris looked after us on both our visits and not only provided his advice on the menu selection and wine but was so attentive to our every need and made the experience at the Fish Emporium memorable The restaurant is not beachside but is located in the Capri centre and was a short taxi ride from the Marriot where we were staying to the Via Roma on the Isle of Capri. So glad we did and highly recommend this restaurantMore

We went at night and the lights shining on the water were beautiful. It was peaceful and relaxing. The staff are very attentive and the food is fresh and delicious - a great place to visit when on the GC !

This restaurant would probably be best for lunch so that you can really enjoy the harbour view. Lots of options on the menu - seafood and not. I had the $39 set menu which was very good value. My husband enjoyed the oysters - the...best he's had in a while (Tasmanian Pacific). Service was good; waiter was friendly. A nice dinner.More

Lovely spot to drop into for a light lunch, the share dishes are just right. Our particular favorite are the Tempura Bugs.
