Pet Douglas is a regular yearly holiday for us since 2012 and we never missed Cafe Fresq for breakfast or a late lunch. Obviously as many of us ,we didn’t make it for the past 2 years but we were looking forward to come again.What...happened since our last visit? We understand that the cost of food, staff and everything else is on the way up, and we are willing to pay a bit more . As mentioned on many reviews, the serving size are shrinking and the price increasing at this popular venue. The Smach Avo is now a thin spread over irregular thin size of bread with a tiny piece of aloumni. What it is this time? The war in Ukrain, the Infamous COVID, the drough? We had breakfast only once during our 6 days holidays this time and will not coming back unfortunately. Looking at neighbouring plates, it’s just not the Avo that taking a hit, at $74 for 2 juices, 1 x Smach. Avo and 1 x Nutritious Bowl it’s just not acceptable. Same owner, using the popularity of this well established business to purely and let say it, ripping off the flow of touristsMore

This cafe has a policy of doing takeaways before sit downs. We ordered four coffees that took 45 minutes before they came because people ordering takeaways took preference in the queue. Very disappointing.

Had coffee and breakfast twice whilst in PD, couldn’t complain about either, we managed a table in the shade, which was great. Our waitress made the visit, the young lady from Snowdonia, Wales, she always had a smile and managed a conversation with us, especially...when they were absolutely flat out! thank you.More

A handy location and great atmosphere, we visited Cafe Fresq for breakfast a couple of times and were never disappointed. The food is beautifully presented and there are lots of options for kids. Coffee was one of the better ones in Port Douglas and I...really liked the servingware! Staff were friendly and efficient. They do have some healthier options like coconut chia pudding (which is sensational) as well as more indulgent dishes like Nutella french toast (absolutely worth it). The eggs benny was also great. If you visit PD during a busy period you'll probably have to wait for a table, but towards the end of our trip the area had quietened down a bit and we were able to get a table for 5 easily.More

I have been here a number of times in the past and quite enjoyed it. However this time it wasnt as good. Half the staff were friendly and the other half looked miserable. I know its been a tough few years but smiling and being...friendly is always important. Our waiter though was lovely and informative about the menu. We both ordered the brisket, mine in a gluten free roll and hers as a toasted sandwich. Mine cost more because it was gluten free but it tasted ok. It looked a little drab on the plate as there was nothing else on it. The lady who took our money was lovely and really friendly. I think its overpriced and not as good as it used to be but its an easy option for lunch and there are a number of menu items that are good for breakfast.More

After a few “misses” on Port Douglas cafes, we found Cafe Fresq just off Maccrossan st. We were met by a very friendly cafe host , female in 20’s (?) slender short dark hair, cafe was full, but she was always looking out to see...how everyone was going, and said shouldn’t be more than 10minutes, once seated and after reading the menu for our orders taken: Caesar Salad, and Warm Roast Vegi Salad for my VEGETARIAN wife, meals wernt too long a wait, and food was excellent . Being vegetarian options and quality are very hit and miss in Port Douglas, but this choice at cafe Fresq definitely hit the mark. Cafe Host was busy checking on the tables, asked how we were going , and was very attentive at managing the floor- was very impressed over all and would certainly recommend . Opened for breakfast and lunch only , and some great options , dining is open area with covered area and outdoor covered area with foot traffic in between, so great for people watching and a busy happening area, even saw a man taking his dog for ride in his backpack have attached their menu . ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️More

Sometimes I have had breakfast at restaurants where I live in Dee Why NSW which is not as glamarous a destination like Port Douglas but still gets packed with tourists. Breakfast at home (bacon & eggs, large coffee) can cost between $15 and $20. Here...you pay a bit more maybe $25 before tip, but they bring you a lot of food, much more than I've seen at home and in this case more than I could eat. Also it's delicicious. So its a really good place for breakfast.More

We called in for brunch, my husband had a yearning for Eggs Benedict. He ordered it with salmon and I ordered it with bacon and we both ordered a flat white coffee. The coffee was good and the Eggs Benedict was the best we have...ever had. The service was excellent and the pricing reasonable. Thoroughly recommend this cafe.More

What a great spot for breakfast/brunch. So popular with the locals and tourists, just be patient for a table. I had the chorizo bowl, awesome. Wife had the big breakfast (so the dog can get some bacon), heaps of food, all cooked well. We both...had excellent coffees and a fresh juice to finish. Great staff, they will find you a table, be patient.More

Just spent 14 days in PD and had most of our breakfasts at Cafe Fresq. The food was delicious, service exceptional and reasonably priced. Finally managed to get my Buttermilk Chicken burger (after waiting 3 years) - better than I remember. Congratulations Cafe Fresq -...what a great team. Can't wait to come backMore

This cafe in a weird location as it was on a hillsides it was on steep corner property off the main street. As it was very steep it had an odd seating area but this didn't stop the owners running a great little cafe here. ...The service and food were great and we enjoyed a tasty brekkie here. It was also very popular with locals and tourists alike.More
