We visited Chilly’s to enjoy a relaxed evening with friends. Upon arrival we heard one of the wait staff tell a walk up customer takeaway was about a 40 minute wait. We were seated expecting the same. However an hour later and our three pizzas...had still not yet arrived. Within 1.5 hours our meals had arrived and were fun. Not amazing, but not bad either. We enjoyed them. However upon leaving we could hearing yelling from the Kitchen. Upon investigating the noise, we came upon the chef hurling teams of abuse and expletives at a customer who had enquired where their meal was. We then we’re getting our bikes to head home and heard the same chef verbally abusing one of his you g female wait staff. We waited to ensure she was safe, as it was only the two of them unloading things from the van. However, I immediately had concern for the young waiter. No one should face this, and certainly not in their place of work. The service is not great, however the wait staff are simply trying to do their best in a fairly inefficient and volatile work space. We certainly won’t be returning. But I hope something is done about the chef as his treatment of others, both customers and staff is abhorrent.More

What an unfortunate experience at what use to be a good restaurant I wish I had read the previous reviews before going to Chilly’s. But to be honest I wouldn’t have believed them as we have dine there so many times before. This review is...directed solely to the person in charge - the chef. I was verbally abused by the chef after being asked if I could be helped by another person in the kitchen. I simply asked if my meal was coming after waiting 1.5 hour for a pasta. His behaviour ultimately resulted to verbally abusing me in front of the entire restaurant. I was horrified, upset and felt threatened and intimidated by a grown man that thinks it’s ok to verbally abuse a pregnant customer over a missed meal. He further verbally abused my father, mother and husband who all had to step in as I was in tears and so distressed by his aggressive behaviour. A lot of the reviews have targeted the waiter staff for poor service but behaviour always starts from the top. I will never go to this restaurant again or recommend to anyone until this so called man is removed from the restaurant. He is abusive, threatening and should not be anywhere near customers or people and especially should not be running a family restaurant or any business. He is the biggest downfall of the place and an embarrassment to his staff. His behaviour is unacceptable, unprofessional and no one especially a customer should be verbally attacked. Do not encourage this behaviour by visiting this restaurant. Avoid and go somewhere else for pizza/pasta where you won’t leave in tears because you asked if your meal was coming.More

6 of us ordered our meals. 5 meals came out. Waited and eventually one of our party went over to ask nicely where the meal was. Told it’s on its way. 10 minutes later nothing. 2nd person asks with same response. Finally our pregnant daughter...goes to ask were her meal is and the chef, manager, owner starts screaming at her and verbally abusing her with foul language. Absolutely disgraceful. Sad to see this sort of thing in our beautiful fuel Port Douglas. We left without finishing our meals as we had all lost our appetite. We know there is a shortage of staff at the moment but there is no need for that sort of reaction to someone asking where their meal is.More

We ordered ceaser salad, it had stale croutons straight from a box, not made in house, soft boiled egg was hard, nothing good about this salad -coles does a better job. The pizza was ordinary, again - nothing great, the base was doughy, not quite...enough cheese, a miss all round. We ordered the "sticky bbq ribs" not a hint of bbq sauce, they were tough and had tomato pasta sauce on them, do they think people are stupid and dont know the difference between bbq sauce and a tomato passata. I felt that the people being turned back as the place was fully booked were the lucky ones!More

We have been to Chillies a number of times and the food is always good. Well prepared and tasty however the service appears to be slipping. Orders taken but then staff wandering around to wrong tables as numbers not right. This leading to staff taking...food back to the kitchen then wandering to tables asking what they ordered. This happened to us and a number of others. The food was then only Luke warm and well done. Even though we booked twice on both ocassions they didn’t have my booking and I had to show my email confirmation and then we were just shoved onto end areas where the lights don’t work so hard to see the menu. I do hope they can sort out the service and that the music will return soon as it always had a great vibeMore

We have had some really great experiences in Port Douglas, unfortunately Chillys wasn't one of them. Definitely a great spot for families and relaxed outdoor dining vibe. Just be wary of those very noisy lorikeets at dusk, they make quite a racquet! Sadly the service...really let the whole experience down. We waited for over an hour for one pizza and we never received our garlic bread. They issued a refund without question for the bread but with at least 6 chefs in the kitchen, not sure what the delay was with food. It seemed to dribble out the kitchen. The pizza was okay but nothing to write home about. Sadly a miss here.More

The pizza was fantastic but service not so much. Bordered on the expensive side (especially for pizza) but in my opinion was to totally worth the price. The atmosphere was great but staff were not friendly. Not sure if it’s no longer “9cool” to be...welcoming and provide good service anymore or what was going on. If this was fixed it would have gotten a 5!More

It’s a great looking venue, with great art on the walls, but the mozzies are unbeatable. And unfortunately the pizzas were terrible. We got a seafood and a Roma pizza and if you’d close your eyes you wouldn’t notice a difference by taste. Very tasteless...unfortunately and the base quite dry.More
