Called in for a quick drink and to check out the venue. Super friendly and attentive staff at this picturesque venue by the water. We ended up making a larger booking for a gathering with friends

We wanted a family restaurant for our last night in Port Douglas, the Yacht Club had a kids menu and easy access for my elderly father so this suited us. The food was ok, pretty much clubs food. I really enjoyed my parmigiana as did...my daughter my Dad and Husband had the roast and said it was dry. This was disappointing as it is quite pricey. We were served in a timely fashion, a lady did go to order after us and was told that it would be a 20min wait, think that they just don’t have enough staff. Was nice to sit so close to the water!More

Ok so I know there is a shortage of staff BUT…$150 for 4 meals, first 2 meals after 50 minutes, 3rd meal 15 minutes later, last one 10 minutes after that. Not a pleasant dining experience. No responsibility or initiative or management. No simple offer...of a reduction in price, a few free drinks to keep us happy…poor management. They were too embarrassed to look at us in the end. Felt sorry for poor kids trying to run the floor. Similar thing happening to tables around us. I get that it’s busy but why overbook if you can’t handle it? BBQ tomorrow 😏More

We had dinner, 5 of us, 3 meals weren't made so had to wait nearly an extra hour for them. Were completely understaffed. I know covid is an issue but they shouldn't take so many bookings as they obviously can't cope atm. Bar staff were...overwhelmed aswell. Very disappointing evening.More

We went here last night. No booking, but were told we could stay and order dinner, it's a beautiful spot right on the edge of the marina. Then told it may be some time as they were booked out. My partner queued to order, got...to the till to be told no more orders for 20 minutes. However, they kept letting people in, there were small queue's all around and staff giving out different information to people. It was VERY chaotic. A few of the staff looked like school kids, and had no idea of what they were meant to be doing!! The place was overwhelmed, however they did nothing to prevent people coming in to order, with no system for people who had been there for a couple of hours. I understand that Covid has lead to huge staff shortages in the area, however management should anticipate their numbers, and cater to a number of clients that they can provide staff for. I'd go back for a drink, as the setting is lovely, but won't even consider ordering food here.More

A great venue to sit and take in the view. We were there for the Friday night Seafood Platter with a bottle of wine. Great value, however there was an issue with the ordering system so we waited over an hour for our meal. When...our meal arrived it was too small for 2 people and we left hungry. The service is great and the wine was great. We had also dropped by several times prior to that during the week for a drink on our way past. Maybe just order something extra as it is a great place to visit and relax.More

Clearly they had overbooked and were not coping. We could not book food for 30 minutes as the kitchen was overloaded. We asked for the entrees to come out first, but no, entree and main came together. They had a female singer who missed every...second note. We asked to be seated as far away from the "Music" as possible. Patrons were dressed as if they were going sailing - extremely casual. I was charged for a bottle of prosecco rather than a piccolo. To top it all off the staff would not call for a shuttle to pick us up, simply gave me their number. All in all our worst experience during our week in Port Douglas. Never to return!More

A great location and plenty of room for young ones to run around. The food whilst good was a bit too small in portion size for the price. A reasonable selection of drinks and a mess up with our order saw our desserts given to...another table of which we had to have something else from ‘what was left’.More

Amazing location, amazing food, amazing staff. Lots of locals were there when we visited, and all were so helpful and friendly. Felt like a local whilst dining there. Food was like we were eating at a fine dining restaurant, all cooked perfectly including desserts. We...were a big group that took a while whilst dining. We never felt rushed by the staff, even though we were the last dining.More

Out of all the places we ate out at in Port Douglas, the yacht club was our favourite. You need to be patient during this busy time but great food and relaxing atmosphere.

We went to have the seafood platter, and did. Not many choices from memory on the seafood platter night, but did however remember seeing alot of parmies, which were HUGE.

Hi there, The Club is closed on Christmas Day due to licensing restrictions and public holiday wages for staff prevent us from operating profitably. Regards,
