About
For a long while Hi Tide Cafe, Bar, Restaurant has been a local's secret, and no wonder because this is as close to a beachfront hideaway as it gets in the middle of Port Douglas. Indeed, if you're looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of Macrossan Street and enjoy a home style meal or one of our nightly specials, a cocktail or cool beer with the soft sea breeze the tide will bring you here. Nestled oceanside in the Peninsula Boutique Hotel. Hi Tide looks directly out onto 4 Mile Beach and the Coral Sea. It's cool without being over designed, warm and welcoming without sacrificing a certain sophistication and, well, they have the most amazing cocktail selection.

Excellent place for dinner. They had a Seafood Chowder on offer as a special of the day. Best chowder I’ve ever had. The chowder was full of bite sized pieces of fish, prawns, scallops and seafood dumplings. The staff are also very attentive and fun...to speak with.More

This is a really lovely and romantic restaurant for dinner. Would highly recommend for couples. We were seated right at the front of the restaurant with perfect views to Four Mile beach. The candlelit setting was perfect. The menu was interesting and the food was...lovely. Special mention for the back strap lamb which was cooked to perfection. The wine list also had a good variety of choices. The service was attentive and friendly. Ignore the negative reviews, and give this a try for yourself. You won’t be disappointed.More

This place didn’t disappoint with the food and drinks for brekky! Excellent. Really enjoyed ourselves but my only thing would be the slight mess up with the staff ordering the wrong items but can be forgiven as they were new backpackers and it’s hard to...find good help atm up here!More

We have dined here several times and keep returning for the Delicious Food, Attentive, Friendly Service and the views of Four Mile Beach. We had the Eye Fillet and Fish & Chips tonight and both meals were well presented and perfectly cooked.

Worst dining experience in Port Douglas. Had to wait 10 minutes to be seated at our table and then 45 minutes to get our drinks. Don't even ask about the food or quality of service. Very disappointing.More

A place which totally surprised and impressed us both. A very ‘bland’ cafe on approach but once settled in, with menu in hand and a lovely glass of wine, perusing the menu, it was very impressive. The view over 4 mile beach and the tranquility...of the surroundings, along with amazing tasting and plated food, made this an night to remember. Highly worth the choice if considering.More

Hi Tide Port Douglas, comes and goes, such a shame, location, location, one of the only three cafe/restaurants in Port Douglas situated on the iconic world class four mile beach front, terrible service, coffee food to match. Avoid.More

Disappointing dinner at this well-reviewed restaurant by the foreshore at Port Douglas. It started when we needed to request a table change out of the wind, when only 3 tables were occupied at 5.30pm. Despite the friendly waitress, my entree was $24.50 for 3 marinated...king prawns (with no accompanying finger bowl). $8/ prawn!!!! My hubby’s chicken meal was accompanied by 3 scrawny carrots($28). Thank heavens we ordered a side of chips! Could not possibly recommend this restaurant, as value for your dining/tourist dollar was poor.More

Thanks for your feedback. As like every other restaurant & cafe in Port Douglas at the moment, we are working with a very limited team as there is simply no staff in town. Unfortunately we had to reduce our trading hours as it's physically impossible...More

Casual, comfortable attire is what is required in the tropics and is best in Port Douglas. Whatever you are comfortable in!
