Recently had a Sunday lunch with family at Sassi. Great location, Restaurant was clean and the decor very pleasant. Staff we're attentive enough although more (actually any) offers for drinks wouldn't have gone astray. Food was tasty, although not presented very well, garnishes weren't fresh. excusable if they were busy but this wasn't the case. My major gripe is that... More

If you want delicious Italian food with excellent service then don't miss Sassi situated opposite the Courthouse Hotel in Port Douglas. We spent the morning at the Sunday markets and ambled across the road for an absolutely perfect lunch at Sassi. The boys couldn't resist the dessert menu and enjoyed a mango crime brûlée and a warm chocolate pudding, both... More

Very disappointed with this restaurant with their poor service and rude, arrogant waiter who expected and rudely asked for his tip. Food was acceptable but very expensive for what it was. We had to wait and ask for more drinks every time and the waiter was not happy he had to serve a table of 16 even though they were... More

We shared the arancini balls and salt cod croquettes to start. Fresh salmon carpaccio was divine. Squid ink pasta was superb. Once again a memorable meal. Our only complaint was that the waiter was too scared to tell the chef how wonderful the food was because the owner had arrived and all hell was breaking loose in the kitchen.

I had a grumble a couple of months ago about this place, everything was really good apart from the infestation of mice outside. I am pleased to report the problem has been solved, we recently ate there so I am able to say "yes, great place to eat."

3 of us ate in here last night. We shared 6 scallops, arancini balls and cod croquettes very tasty. For mains. Seafood linguini, prawn risotto and roast chicken, all 3 dishes were wonderful! The waiting staff are efficient. Well worth a visit!

This restaurant kept coming up in conversations all over my Port Douglas travels, I had to give it a try. The decor is a mis match of dated and that'll do... but don't let that distract you from the reason you eat out! The food!Sassi delivers on simple elegant traditional Italian food and it delivers it well. I ate the... More

A little pricey (like most of PtD) but still good value if you want proper dining and quality food and wine. Waiter was happy to recommend and suggested winners all round. Great place. Authentic Italian.
