We ate a lovely lunch mid week at Lure, and it was one of our favourite meals throughout our week long stay. The oysters and scallops were sensational and super fresh and the coral trout fish & chips was also excellent. Great wine list and a really great spot to spend a few hours drinking great wines and seafood. We had two ladies who served us with a smile on their face and made our experience really wonderful so much so we thought we would come back for another lunch on a Sunday however this was a vastly different experience.
There was one grumpy male waiter, greeting us at the front of the restaurant and we were rudely told there was no availability. There was no offer to reserve a table when one might become available and it was clear there were already tables not far off finishing. We would have been happy to wait a while for a table as we loved the food, view and wine selection the first time however the grumpy attitude of the male waiter was so disappointing we took our business next door to Barbados and spent a lovely few hours there instead. Such a shame one bad staff members attitude.
On a whole, we loved our first experience at Lure.. The food and female waitresses were outstanding and we would have loved to have gone back and had that experience the second time.

Perfect lunch experience
The staff were really friendly and accommodating, the salt and pepper squid salad was cooked perfectly with a light balanced batter with a fresh and delicious salad. My friend had the cone of prawns which was very generous for the price and she said they were the best she had in the area, so fresh and easy to peel.
Fabulous refreshing cocktails, loved it!

We visited for breakfast on the morning we were leaving Port Douglas and unfortunately wish we had chosen somewhere else.
The food took a long, long time to come out (over 40 minutes after ordering) and as we had a flight to catch, it got a bit worrying.
When it finally did come out, the toast of my eggs benedict was burnt to a crisp. There was no apology from staff for the wait or the state of the food - and we didn't have time to send it back because it had taken so long to come out in the first place.
It was disappointing because we had saved what we thought would be a great meal to last.

A huge shout out to Kelly, Adam, and the staff of Lure Restaurant for making our wedding night extra special! We were a relatively last minute booking for our May wedding, but Kelly really stepped up. Nothing was too much trouble, she worked with us really well and helpfully assisted us in finding vendors and putting together decorations.
The staff on the night were lovely, very attentive and super helpful. Big thanks to Adam and his team for looking after us and our guests, many of our guests commented on how wonderful the service was. In terms of the kitchen, Kelly and her chefs did phenomenal job! The food was amazing and again, many of our guests complimented the food, with some saying it was some of the better wedding food they've had.
An amazing effort from all, thanks for making our special night that more special!

Don’t you just love it when you arrive at the entrance to a café with a sign “please wait to be seated” and you are then studiously ignored by two staff gossiping close by? That is what happened here and when I drew attention to my presence I was asked by one of the culprits “Are you right?”. “Of course not, I am waiting to be shown to a table” I replied. The waiter seemed annoyed with my response and we were then grumpily shown to a table, which overlooked the marina with delightful views to the distant mountains. To make up for the initial offhanded treatment our coffee was excellent, the generous servings of cakes were delicious and the quality of the service improved.

Lovely setting but service was poor and food very average. Ordered scallops for entree and although it was supposed to be 6 in half shell with garlic butter i got 4 tiny ones with some sort of aioli and capsicum. Which would be ok but i am allergic to capsicum so order things without. The main came with slaw- which also had capsicum. Now my bad for not mentioning but as all ingredients seemed to be listed i didnt think it necessary.
I didnt make a fuss, just asked for a plate so i could take the food off and away from what makes me sick. A rude chef gave a plate, no staff came to assist. And no one came to take the two plates containing all the rest of my food. So i had very average scallops(4) not (6) and very average calamari.
Very disappointing food service and experience. It will be my last, and the others at my table were equally appalled so they wont go back either.
This is definitely more of a cafe than a restaurant, and as such very overpriced for the food served. Luckily they dont open for dinner!

Before returning to the ship we decided to sit in the port and enjoy the view. For less than $100 we enjoyed the seafood even more. I have a new relationship with melt in the mouth Whiting, fat and juicy crumbed oyster (the fresh ones were thin but tasty) and the squid was perfectly coated and tender too. Even the salad was fresh and well dressed! Service was prompt and staff checked for drinks and issues. Super meal!

Despite staff shortages and being busy the owner of the restaurant served us with a friendly smile and could remember our order without writing it down.
We ate outside and enjoyed a view with our lunch arriving fairly soon after ordering.
It was really delicious and the servers were very generous
I’d recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys a great meal and lovely views

I stopped into Port Douglas on the way back to Cairns from the Daintree for a meal. Lure is in a beautiful location on the marina with views over the water and out to the mountains and it’s a top place to relax and enjoy a meal. I ordered a steak sandwich with chips which was delicious. Afterwards I enjoyed a stroll along the Reef Marina Boardwalk and through the park toward Sugar Wharf

Had lunch here on a dull day, very good service. The red emperor served with a yellow curry sauce was fabulous. Unfortunately the chicken dish was not. The chicken looked processed and had little taste.

Four of us called in for coffee and a late morning snack. Our bearded waiter was definitely not into 'service with a smile' though other serving staff were very friendly. Corn and zucchini fritters were not very tasty though the bruschetta was good. Biggest disappointment was the well-named 'iced' coffee - I removed so many chunks of ice from my glass, one of which was huge. Strangely, the level of liquid in my glass reduced greatly. Cost saving measures such as this don't really go down well with customers. We wouldn't return.

Met some friends and walked in. Staff very helpful and our group grew from 4 to 10 which wasn’t an issue for the staff who were very accommodating. We all had differing meals all were fresh good portions and very tasty. I had the Thai chicken which was excellent very crisp and fresh. Well worth a visit and what a location on the marina

Situated on the Marina at Port Douglas, we enjoyed our outside table under a big umbrella, taking in the beautiful water view.
Service was friendly and efficient, drinks order taken as soon as we were settled and we relaxed into a pleasant lunch.
Food was amazing, crispy skinned barramundi with coconut prawns was a great hit, and the fish and chips very fresh and tasty. Great selection of wines.
Perfect spot for a casual lunch.

We stopped in at Lure on our first day in Port Douglas for a late lunch. We were seated on the balcony immediately after the waiter asked for us to wait a moment for him to clean the table (COVID requirements). He then took our drinks order and returned shortly after to take the food order. Our food arrived promptly and it was delicious! The sushi was just unreal, soo many flavours and incredibly tasty. The bugs were a touch overcooked, a minute less they would have been melt in your mouth rather than meaty. Still good though, and would definitely order again. We will be back. Add to Lure your list when stopping by Crystalbrook marina.

We had lunch and were thrilled to find a restaurant taking advantage of the local seafood. The menu was perfect for sitting at the Marina on a hot day. As is standard for all restaurants in Port Douglas, eating is al fresco with fans overhead, and as it is right on the marina, the tables and chairs are quite bare and basic. The wine list was excellent and well priced. Food a tad on expensive side, but the freshness of the seafood made it worth it. We had coral trout fish and chips and pasta with coral trout, tiger prawns, scallops and Moreton bay bug. Servings were quite generous. Service was excellent and our waiter was very helpful.
