Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stopped for a drink and were also going to have a meal. However the staff were so rude and serving a drink seemed such a bother to them, even though they weren’t busy, we went somewhere else.

Four of us called in for coffee and a late morning snack. Our bearded waiter was definitely not into 'service with a smile' though other serving staff were very friendly. Corn and zucchini fritters were not very tasty though the bruschetta was good. Biggest disappointment...was the well-named 'iced' coffee - I removed so many chunks of ice from my glass, one of which was huge. Strangely, the level of liquid in my glass reduced greatly. Cost saving measures such as this don't really go down well with customers. We wouldn't return.More

We have been to Lure restaurant each time we have visited Port Douglas it’s always been a nice experience, food was very good this time with out being outstanding, we did have some fussy non compliant grandkids so it means relaxing and eating slowly is...out. Still in saying that the staff were very good and the view overlooking the wharves is really pleasantMore

Fish & Chips. Coral Trout ✅ Chips were not even half cooked and salad was stale. We told the staff that we were in no hurry, so time was not the excuse

Came here for brunch. Only place in Port Douglas with great, prompt, friendly service and good food. Will definitely come back again. Nice work staff and management for providing the service Port Douglas is very much lacking as a tourist destination. We just had breakfast...but everything was great! Check it out.More

On a shore excursion from Cairns and decided to have lunch with other excursionists at this restaurant & bar. I selected the calamary, tender and tasty and accompanied by a fresh salad and chips. My wife enjoyed a kid's size calamari & chips. I also...enjoyed a couple of cold Coronas. Great location. Friendly service.More

Called in here for a drink on a very warm day. Checked it was OK just for a drink as most tables seemed to be eating but the staff were very welcoming. $10 for two cokes is not the cheapest drink but it was worth...it to sit down in the shade!More

We arrived early and had hopeful expectations for this place. Was sent to our table and 20 minutes later still waiting for a menu and table water. The table beside us arrived after us but were given water and a menu, even managed to order...a beer. I tried to attract the attention of staff who mostly were standing around doing nothing and did not see me. Decided to leave, walked out in disgust. Don’t bother the staff have no interest in their jobs. I feel for whoever the owner may be!More

Very unhelpful and unfriendly staff. Really did minimal to make us feel welcome. Food mediocre and not at same level as cafes on Main Street.
