I ordered room service form here while staying at the Double Tree Hilton and was disappointed from the get go. I only ordered a Caesar salad with grilled salmon and asked for no anchovies. I was told the anchovies was in the dressing, so I...said no dressing and make it mayonnaise instead. After a few minutes of clarifying that I hung up with a sigh - we established 'no anchovy dressing and a side of mayonnaise'. So I later receive my Caesar salad with a small lump of cold salmon - NOT grilled like the menu said - and no mayonnaise. So just lettuce, shaved Parmesan, cool bacon pieces, and a salmon lump in a bowl. I couldn't be bothered reporting the issue as I was just too tired and hungry so ate what I was given. This experience did not justify the price of the meal and I won't recommend ordering or dining from here because of it.More

Visited the Atrium with my son this evening to purchase from the dessert menu. I requested three times for pricing from staff (Nimesh) who advised he “would look after me!” Unsure how when I pushed for an answer on pricing how $12 for a child’s...scoop of ice cream was looking after me!! During my stay I have seen no more than 3 diners in the restaurant and I would guess that the customer service and pricing would play a large part in the reason!! Will be avoiding the restaurant for the remainder of my stay!! Ps... the RSL across the road do amazing deserts and a scoop of ice cream with chocolate topping and sprinkles cost a dollar and the smiles are free!!More

We had just flown in, we’re tired and just needed a light meal.we settled for oysters kilpatrick and a chicken spatchcock to share. The staff were extremely welcoming and obliging. The oysters were large and succulent and the chicken tender and appealing. The free bottle...of wine was very acceptable. We’ll be back!More

During our stay at the Doubletree Hilton in Cairns we had dinner and breakfast at the Atrium. The dinner on our first night was delicious. We had the wagu burger and the butcher plate for one. Both were beautifully presented and delicious. My husband rated...his butcher plate as one of the best dishes he has had and he is a harsh critic! The restaurant was pretty quiet for dinner on the night we were there. The staff were very attentive and helpful. Likewise for breakfast the next morning. Lots to choose from, friendly and attentive staff and an overall nice experience.More

The menu looked delightful and so our adventure began at the Atrium. But alas, I could write a really good menu too if I didn’t have any intention of serving all the ingredients listed. We ordered the calamari, butchers plate, sautéed green beans with bacon...and sweet potato fries. After ordering, the alarm bells should of rung when the waiter told us that they didn’t have green beans. We said that the suggested alternative of broccolini would be fine. When the food came we received broccoli with no bacon but garlic instead, no pork belly on our plate, only 3/4 of our chorizo, baked potatoes rather than mash and another pile of broccoli for the “seasonal vegetables”. When we asked the waiter about not including the pork belly on the butcher plate, he told us that they did not have pork belly, so gave us extra of the other meat after checking with the chef (which would have been kind of ok, but very disappointing). I then asked what the extras included were because there was the right amount of spatchcock listed, the right amount of steak, less choritzo than we anticipated, perhaps more bacon and broccoli than what was needed. At this question the waiter seemed confused, and I replied with “extra broccoli and bacon is not really the equivalent of pork belly”. He apologised, and my brother in law than asked if if the butchers plate would still be $60 if one of the main parts was not included. The waiter told us that it was the best they could do. I was very disappointed as this was my birthday dinner. In saying that the wait staff were very polite, and did everything possible to try and fix the situation. The manager however refused to give us any discount. I give 2 stars 1 for the jus, and one for the waiters who tried very hard, were good at their job and know what customer service is all about.More

Staying in the Hilton alone was daunting.. but it was a pleasure going to the atrium restaurant for dinner and having some of the best service I’ve ever had. The staff really make you feel looked after and welcome. The food was incredible too! Definitely...recommend the steak with mushroom ragu. Thank you!More

I was disappointed when I had dinner here during my stay at the doubletree Hilton. As expected the prices are reasonably high here. Unfortunately the experience didn't meet expectations. The first issue was an exceptionally dirty glass on my table. I ordered the fish and...chips with pea puree from the menu. The dish arrived about 15 minutes later. Unfortunately there was no pea puree. I asked the waiter. His response "Are you sure. It is usually on the bottom". He came and checked my plate, as if I was blind or lying. Once he was sure there was no pea puree he went into the kitchen and asked the chef for the puree. It came out a few minutes later. I then noticed that there was crusty dry food on the fork on my table so I asked for a new one. Once I finished my meal I ordered the chocolate brownie for dessert. The brownie came out a few minutes later, stone cold from the fridge. I asked the waiter why it wasn't warm. His reply "it doesn't specify warm on the menu". Honestly, anywhere in the world I've been and ordered a brownie it has always been warm. I asked them to heat it up and send it to my room as I had had enough of the restaurant. The food and beverage supervisor offered to comp my main meal and drinks due to the issue. He must have been new because he seemed to be asking the waiter how to remove things from the point of sale system. Overall. The experience at the restaurant was mediocre at best. Quality control was lacking from the chef checking the food before it went iut as well at the waiters setting the table.More

I stayed at Double tree hotel and used this restaurant for breakfast and dinner. As for breakfast, here isn't much choice for cooked meal(i.e. sausage, bacon...) . As for dinner time, staff recommended local beers and I enjoyed a bite.

We had a staff dinner on the weekend and chose The Atrium at Doubletree by Hilton as the venue. We started with drinks in their well appointed and comfortable bar - our favourites were the Espresso Martini and the Cool Breeze Watermelon Cucumber cocktails. All...the staff were very friendly and helpful. I particularly appreciated their willingness to 'personalise' my cocktail by adding more soda water as I don't like sweet drinks. For starters we had bread with smooth mild goats cheese, onion jam and a pesto which was pronounced "perfetto" by our Italian staff member who is also a keen cook. We had grilled mushrooms on toasted ciabatta and tender calamari on salad which came with an unusual citrus dipping sauce. This sauce was so good that we mopped up the last drops with our fingers. The Thai beef salad topped with crispy noodles was tasty, and so large it couldn't be finished. For mains, I had perfectly cooked barramundi with rice, bok choy and Tom Yum salsa, which was delightful. My companions thoroughly enjoyed the crispy skin pork belly, and the salmon on crushed potatoes with broccolini, bacon and shellfish broth. The portions were so generous, none of us were able to entirely finish our mains! Our only disappointment was that we were so full we had to pass on the desserts we'd eyed off at the start of the evening - lemon tart with blood orange sorbet and raspberry coulis, and buttermilk pannacotta with salted caramel and the special Doubletree cookie. What a good excuse to go back, which we certainly will. Top effort, Atrium!!!More

Very Average, as the service was great the food on the other hand was very deceiving. We ordered the seafood tower, we got half of the things that the menu said. No sashimi, no tuna, only 4 small prawns. We gave the place a chance...and ate again, only to find it more disappointing, a platter of muscles steams, only we got a place with empty shells and an occasional tinny winy muscles had to send it back.More
