A return visitor and still a fan - great flavours with really authentic service - we have tried the $45 set menu twice now and find it hard to go past it - a great combination of dishes finished well. Cocktails and mock tails always...well mixed …. See you next time. Ps best satay outside of Bali …More

One of the main things I wanted to do in Cairns was visit Bayleaf Bali restaurant. The day we went, the Uber driver told us it was her favourite restaurant, which was a good sign. Well, it did take me back some 17 years to...when I spent time in Bali, same type of rindik music, same type of restaurant atmosphere as in a lot of restaurants in Ubud at the time. We had the corn fritters which were delicious and pork in sweet soy sauce, also delicious and authentic. With the corn fritters an entree, one main was plenty to share between two! Unfortunately, they didn’t have the coconut pancakes I’d really wanted to have. But actually we had originally ordered another main which one of us, for dietary reasons, cancelled, the other, unaware, had ordered. They were so gracious about canceling that main, when it was probably about to come out, really the service and food were just outstanding.More

We came here for tea on our second night here in Cairns, with a quick 10 second walk we were greeted with a smile. Perks of staying at the adjoining resort. We chose the $45pp banquet option and all I can say is WOW and...make sure you have room! The flavour and smell were authentic. Each meal cooked to perfection. Even trialling some food I wouldn’t usually have. We didn’t get through all of the main, with three different curries and a large bowl of rice. But it was delicious! The coconut pancake was to die for, honestly wish there were more. Every course was well presented.More

This restaurant has it all - seriously! Wonderful atmosphere and decor, attentive and polite staff, great menu selections and AMAZING food. My friend and I chose the set menu which comprised of 6 meat sticks including chicken, pork and beef served with a beautiful satay...dipping sauce. The main was a large serve of rice, chicken curry, pork in soya bean, charred reef fish and pickled vegetable accompaniments - food coma right there. Both meat dishes the meat melted in your mouth, it was cooked to perfection. The desert was a fruit platter with two other Indonesian style desserts. I also ordered the gnt with a twist - the kaffir lime leaf flavour was Devine. This restaurant was fantastic and so well priced - this set menu was $45 per person. You can’t beat that value.More

We love coming up from Melbourne to this restaurant. We hadn't been for 2 years and it keeps getting better since our first visit in 2016. The staff are friendly and professional, good ambience and the food is delicious. On this holiday we went twice...in January and we were trying to go back again so we could have the dessert! Fresh, delicious Balinese food. Well done. Look forward to coming back on our next holiday.More

The food here is excellent! When we arrived the place was packed (7:45pm) luckily we had a booking at 8pm. After waiting 5-6 minutes for someone to approach us, we were seated… Service was chaotic at best however the food was delicious. We had fish...in banana leaf which was amazing. chicken curry which was fantastic. Prawn curry was delicious as was the lamb. Shame BYO was not allowed as our first 2 whine choices from the wine list were not available … All in all and excellent meal in a great Cairns restaurantMore

My husband and I ordered a "feed me" option and left the restaurant "rolling" so full and happy. The portions were larger than we could eat, the presentation of the grill skewers and fried fish was spectacular, they placed them in a mini charcoal barbecue,...very cute! There was a satay dip very yummy! The chicken curry and meat in soysauce took me to the moon!! Such a good flavour! I can't really describe it! It was an explosion of flavours in my mounth. The dessert suprised us with a delicious coconut pancake wrap, black rice pudding and fresh tropical fruits. I definitely recomend this place! Be prepared to eat a lot!More

Ushered to a table waited a long time for service. The food was lovely once it arrived. The lunch time taste plate was delicious. The little satay skewers on hot coals smoking away a great touch. But as the restaurant filled up with many people...ordering the the taste plate the restaurant soon filled up with smoking hot coal smell. I became quite nauseous and had to go outside. The food was great, atmosphere cold and smoke unbearableMore

The private dining room can seat up to 16 but with the covid-19 restrictions and recommendations in Queensland, we can only take a maximum of 10 in the room at the moment. Regards, Andrea
