Exquisite Indian Food

High quality Indian cuisine with a fresh taste and A+ customer service. We were seated very quickly, food was delivered timely, and was extremely delicious. The biriyani was very good. The environment is quiet with space for a small sit down dinner or room for large parties, if necessary. Would highly recommend!

Amazing food/ service

Visited this restaurant on sat evening ,was fully booked however owner greeted really well after 10 mins we had table ready . Service was great and food was delicious. Robin Sharma

Great flavours, fabulous menu and service

This was a beautiful mix of aromatic flavours, spices and well cooked chicken and lamb that was perfect. This is a curry I would highly recommend for all tastes. From mild to hot, they were all fabulous. I was initially worried being in a warmer part of the restaurant and politely enquired about their air-conditioning, and unexpectedly we were offered another seating for our group under a fan. Thank you, that was a kind gesture and well appreciated. We will all be coming back.

Soooo disappointed

We left Cairns 9 years ago and were so looking forward to returning to what was our favourite Cairns restaurant Marinades on our holiday and we had planned to dine there several times. The evening didn’t start well when the waitress forgot about us and only came to take our order once prompted by the new owner. In hindsight we actually wished we had walked out at that stage instead of having to pay for the substandard curries which we received. The lamb in my husbands rogan josh had not been trimmed or cooked properly as it was tough and grisly and the flavour was nothing like a Rogan Josh. My eggplant curry had a nice smoky flavour but I ordered medium and the curry was very hot which totally spoilt it for me. To top it off, this restaurant is now very expensive for Indian cuisine. Have given 2 stars instead of one as the vege samosas and naan bread were ok. The owner took 10 percent off the price when we told him about the curries but that will in no way entice us back again.

Amazing restaurant, the best Indian food I have had in a while. The customer service is amazing was seated immediately and food was served hot and fresh. Went back frequently throughout our stay and would recommend to all the Indian food lovers.

Authentic food with great ambience

Out of many sprawling indian restaurants around in Cairns city , this one do justice to food , it's taste and customer service . Ambience was also excellent. Overall we had good experience and delicious food .

This place has such rave reviews, I was really excited to try the food. We had a party of five, but two of us showed up early because we were very hungry. Ordered the veg starter platter, which was very meh. The batter was so thick on everything that they all tasted the same and we ended up only eating half. We also ordered two margaritas, big mistake. They came out neon green (????) and tasted like someone had just put lime cordial and tequila in a glass - unpalatable and to send them back, decided to forgo drinks in favour of water. We ordered six curries to share among five of us, along with naan and rice. We ordered two of them hot, one medium, and the rest mild but they all came the same level of blah spiciness. The naan was amazing, especially the cheese and garlic, highlight of the meal. But the curries were shocking. Butter chicken was overly sweet and contained so much chicken in such large bites that there was barely any gravy, tikka masala was bland, the four veggie curries all tasted the same even though they all contained different veggies and types of sauce. My have gone on an off night as my experience does not compute with the rest of the reviews, but I'll continue to patronise Spicy Bite instead where curries and starters actually have distinct flavours.

Hi Mate thanks for the feed back can you please provide the details of what date and time you dine in with us and table number so I can look into the issue, why and how your full order went wrong. It doesn't usually happen with us, but we can make a mistake but not on the whole order, I am surprised, happy to refund your bill or send you a voucher as we are very proud of our service and food quality and i hope this review is not biased.

All-round excellent visit!

We were greeted by a lovely gentleman who showed us to our seats I then told him about my nut allergy. He made me feel very safe and made sure the kitchen were aware and made sure everything was cleaned again to assure no cross contamination. The menu also tells you which dishes are nut free, gluten free, vegetarian and vegan which is fantastic! The service was quick and extremely delicious, I would love to return at some point again on my trip! Would definitely recommend! Thank you to all the staff!

Delicious and plentiful!

After a long day exploring the Atherton Tablelands we opted for a curry. We are living in Sydney and struggle to find good curry there. (Originally from England so maybe spoilt for choice in the past!) This food was delicious and plentiful. We are leaving absolutely stuffed and very happy. Great service, lovely ambience. The waiter even recommended my boyfriend choose a different side that would complement his food more.

Food was very good. However floor staff were quite unorganised and overwhelmed even with the restaurant nowhere near full capacity. Also saw a number of people extremely frustrated about having major wait times for their takeaway. Food is fine, service can just be improved a bit.

Best Indian food in Far North Qld

We eat here regularly, sometimes choosing takeaway and other times dining in. I never leave hungry - always satisfied. Favorites include Samosas, if only for the Tamarind sauce it is served with - dark, sultry and delicious. Chicken Tikka pieces done in the Tandoor usually feature along with Butter Chicken, Chicken or Lamb Korma and the rich butter naan. Service is always friendly and reasonable prices. Recommend booking as it is popular with locals and tourists and can be busy even when others are quiet - testament to its reputation.

We were recommended this restaurant by friends so we we’re excited at the prospect of eating there. We were seated promptly but it went downhill from there. We had to wait too long for someone to take our order. The restaurant was not busy. We finally placed our order for food and drinks and then sat there for at least 20 minutes with nothing from the staff. After another 5 minutes I asked a passing waitress if we had been forgotten about as we’d not even had our drinks. At this time another couple who had come in well after us had their drinks and main meal. The waitress came back with what she called complimentary poppadums because of the wait. When I asked about our drinks she looked very confused and took her pad out to take our whole order again. When I said we had already ordered she said “yes she wanted to take it again to double check”. Let’s face it they had lost our order, nobody seemed to care that we had sat there for 25 minutes without even a drink. At this point we walked out. Terrible service, there was no apology. The man that appeared to be in charge seemed more interested in chatting to a group on a table near us. At no point did he notice our increasing frustration. The service we’ve received so far in Australia has been superb until tonight. The service in this restaurant was truly awful. Such a shame.

Best butter chicken I've had!

Decided to try after reading other reviews. Arrived at 5pm and were the only ones dining in and waited 10 minutes for our order to arrive. We tried the butter chicken, beef korma and garlic & cheese naan. Hands down the best butter chicken we both have had. Korma was fantastic and the naan was too. We ordered one serve of rice and it was massive, more than enough for 2 people. Signs on front door apologising for staff shortages and possible wait times. On each table there are QR codes to enable you to order your meal and then pay as you leave. Overall the menu is slightly more expensive however after receiving our meals and the quality of food, it was worth every cent. Highly recommended!

Some of the best Indian food I have tasted (and I have been to India). Visited 6pm on a Sunday night, not many people in there but lots of takeaways were being processed, prompt and friendly service, extensive menu (wish I had friends with me so I could have tried more!). Meal came quickly and was very filling (even though I pushed in dessert). A must visit if you like Indian food

Best in Cairns, despite the Chinese bit

Any Indian restaurant that has "Indo Chinese" dishes on their menu can shove it up their date as far as I'm concerned. Mixing Chinese noodles with authentic Indian food is wrong. BUT, luckily there are only a few of these dishes available and the rest is quality, authentic Indian food. I know Indian cuisine VERY well and this place is great. Fresh, open kitchen, great food. This is your place for Indian food in Cairns.
