Had the salmon poke with toasted ciabatta....salmon, avocado, tomato & corn Hawaiian style bruschetta) and it was DELISH. Great service & atmosphere. Lovely sea breeze and those views.....to die for. Next time will be coming back for the LUNCH SPECIAL - $22 for lunch + beer, wine or a soft drink.

This humble cafe is in an ideal spot for breakfast or lunch, overlooking the water, where you can also choose to bask in the morning sunlight. The cafe does organic milk, both lactose and lactose-free, which is rare.✅ It has gluten free options and offers smoothies that are freshly made.✅ The staff are friendly and warmly greet you upon arrival.✅ I ordered the mango smoothie with organic lime and coconut, eggs benedict and peppermint tea. The hollandaise sauce was one of the best I've tasted -- beautifully executed, not too runny, buttery and the right consistency. The yolk was perfect too, medium ... just the way I prefer. Purely coincidental. The place has a philosophy of love to love local. It means, what's plated is sourced from local growers, even the coffee beans are grown and roasted less than a hundred kilometres away. ✅ No wonder Wharf One Cafe was awarded a Certificate of Excellence by Trip Advisor. Do yourself a favour if you're in Cairns or visiting the city, make your way to Trinity Wharf Street and sample the delectable delights this place has to offer. I'll certainly be returning on my next visit.

We come here regularly. It’s a great location and it’s really easy to get a park. I do rate the coffee highly. The Brekky is to satisfaction and consistently good but doesn’t compare to other pricing and serving sizes round town. The service of the seemingly junior staff is great, however the greetings/warmness of the senior staff/management is very inconsistent. For us, a simple hello/thank you/smile makes the world of difference. We will always go back but it’s the little things that make spending money at a small business that makes locals rave about a place.

Wharf One Cafe has always been our first choice when arriving in Cairns for a great coffee and quick snack and welcoming service attitude. They seem busy enough even with these challenging Covid-19 times and yet they let the little things pull them down from what I have always considered a very pleasant experience to poor attitude, bad service and a very petty attitude. During my last visit I had a slice of their Lime, Yoghurt and Vanilla cake it was definitely on the dry side although it was sold as super moist but I let it slide as I’ve never really had a problem with any of the food. Today I didn’t want to take the chance with the same cake and the lady serving said the almond cookies were delicious so I went with the cookie. One bite in and I knew it was not edible soggy, burnt on the bottom and really tasted uncooked not a cookie to boast about. I told one of the staff it just wasn’t edible and could I swap it for the brownie and pay the difference. The cookie went to the waste bin and she came back to let me know I need to go to the counter to pay. With a long que I waited and mean while our other food arrived with no cutlery so I had to get some myself. I approached the counter to ask for cutlery and while I was there pay for the brownie. Proudly she replied “ you will have to pay full price even though the cookie wasn’t any good because you purchased it.” It wasn’t about the money of course and I opted to not bother with anything further, walked away annoyed by the tacky attitude. This brings me to my point the whole experience came down to a crappy little cookie, petty attitude and more than likely we won’t be back again. R

Hi R, I am very sorry to read your review - I tasted the biscuit you were referring to and you were quite right - they were bland and soggy. Its seems a non air tight container was to blame for this. We ditched that batch and have made a new batch that are lovely. I have also spoken to our staff about how to deal with customer complaints as your experience does not reflect our usual way of operating and I was very disappointed to read that you were not offered a refund. So again I sincerely apologise. I do hope you give us another change - if you do coffee and a biscuit is on us!

Have be n many times before, but today was a joke. Every other time place has been packed full and service has been great. Today, half full in the restaurant and not that busy, bit we still waited over half an hour for 2 takeaway kids smoothies. Iced coffee came straight away, meaning we had finished it before the others even arrived, but we asked for lactose free and they used lactose free milk but then put icecream in it. Despite having plenty of staff, no one appeared to be doing much except the guy on the coffee machine and the guy cooking, 4 wait staff were very inefficient and appeared busy without actually doing anything Pathetic and I won't be back in a hurry. One of my favourite places is now a no go for us.

Battered fish extremely overcooked! Almost burnt. Lunch deal sign at front but not applied at register. Asked a staff member as we were on the way out and saw the sign why the deal hadn’t been applied and were told that we should have mentioned it to the person serving at the register!

Attended and noted as usual large turnover of foreign backpacker staff as usual , I work nearby so walk past every day. Why don’t they employ aussies , I have a theory , ordered to chai lattes worst taste, totally bitter. We never used the check in app before, staff should little interest in helping and when asked given a smart comment better than us catching covid........no sugar provided, I then had to que again to ask for sugar only to be questioned by this backpacker have I ordered, I said yes coffees on table, just would like some sugar to improve on the crap coffee. Told no sugar sorry and no packets, she then spooned some sugar in paper cup and handed to me, no enjoy your day sorry about that, then sh3 follows me to table to see I did buy coffees, we had a bad 3xperience years ago but thought we would give them a second chance, more fool us,

Hi Greg, You are right we do employ some International travellers at Wharf One - currently with our staff we have approx 70% Australians and the rest International staff. We love our mix of Aussies and backpackers and most of our customers do too. We support Cairns International tourism and the money it brings into the Australian economy in every way that we can – hiring backpackers who are working for their second year visa is a big part of that. Australia is a multicultural country and our main Barista (and the staff member you are referring to) is actually an Australian resident but was originally from the Czech Republic - it seems this has offended you? Our suppliers have had some issues lately due to the Pandemic and the closure of boarders and we have had had to cope with out items for short times (such as the sugar sachets). You will be pleased to know that we received a delivery the following day so now have sachets again. During this Pandemic - it has been a struggle at times to comply with everything that has been asked of us and our staff have been under enormous pressure to not only perform their usual jobs but also to comply to a very long COVID checklist. But we have done our best and continued to operate in order to give employment to our staff and also support our community. Your referral to our ‘Crap Coffee’ – it not actually incorrect – Chai is a tea – not coffee. We make our own mix of black tea and spices - typical to the Original Indian style of Chai Tea as we prefer not to use artificial Chai Powders and syrups that are full of chemicals and fillers. Perhaps you are more accustomed to this over sweetened artificial flavour - served at Mc Donald's and the Coffee Club - and other large chain establishments. To finish Greg ….We support Local in every way we can at Wharf One Cafe - with our suppliers, our staff and our community involvement. What we don't support is racism and prejudice, so perhaps if you have an issue with our multicultural employment you should go elsewhere.

Wharf One is perfect for an intimate and private party. It is roomy enough to host a lot of people comfortably as well as providing a dance floor area. The food was exceptional with all guests raving about the quality. There was no line at the bar - always a positive. A PA system was available free of charge for music throughout the night as well as a microphone for speeches. We were able to hire a projector screen which definitely added to the night. It was affordable, classy, well run and expertly organised between ourselves (hosting) and Peter from Wharf One who coordinated everything for us. Highly recommend and would definitely use again for future functions.

I chose Wharf One as the venue for my 40th birthday & I couldn't have been happier with my decision. Besides being an absolutely stunning venue, they were so easy to liaise with & catered to all my needs. The night went off without a hitch. I had loads of compliments from my guests about the food & drinks, & all the staff were so friendly & attentive. I can't recommend Wharf One enough & am looking forward to my next excuse to hire the restaurant again. In the meantime I love to drop in for a great coffee, healthy meal & sea breezes... it fills my soul💖

We came here on our first morning and LOVED the food. The poached eggs with the Eggs Benny were amazing…. I would say the best I’ve ever had. We ended up coming back here every morning for 5 days because the food was so good, the service was great and the food came out quickly. Had beautiful views of the water and hills too.

A real shame, brought my family down for a late lunch, no deal. Staff Apathetic to serve as they had begun to pack up for the day, if you advertise open hours, you might try operating to them. Very disappointing outcome.

How good is it to eat breakfast and leave not feeling yuck for the rest of the day. I am pregnant so pretty much had to change the whole order of one of their menu items to accomodate what I can and can’t eat. The waitress was so lovely and it was not a hassle at all. The thing I loved the most was that the butter was served on the side of the dish, there is nothing worse than having a super greasy breakfast and I didn’t even end up needing any as it was delicious enough. Best breakfast I have had in a while. And I feel great ☺️

Gluten free chips cooked without gluten foods (i.e. no cross contamination). Excellent vegetarian buddha bowls, perfect for vegiacs like me. And that view...I always bring visitors here to view the inlet, the marina, the mountains all the way to Gordonvale.

My extended family and I dined here for lunch on a weekday. The restaurant is in a prime location given its proximity to the wharf/waters edge. The staff were friendly and the furniture and decor tasteful. The meals were all delicious, good sized portions and came out quite quickly. Of particular note, 3 members of our lunch party ordered the Barra and chips and all commented how yummy it was. All these meals came out consistent in appearance also - same amount of fish, chips and salad and were cooked and seasoned well. Great place!

This was by far the best breakfast we have had on our trip. I had the Buddha bowl which was GF, full of flavour and nutritious, my husband had the eggs benny with bacon and was equally happy. Service was prompt and friendly, value is good and the views even better.
