The OG specialty cafe of Cairns - recently bought back by the original owner! This licensed cafe serves breakfast, brunch and lunch 7 days, with a menu focused on indigenous ingredients, locally sourced produce with an international influence. We roast our own coffee at Tattooed Sailor Coffee Roasters, and serve specialty coffee, single origins, cold brew & filter coffee. Called in for the very first time at Caffiend on Thursday morning 08/04/21.
Immediatly made welcome by staff, a good selection of choices from the menu choosing two breakfasts + 2 drinks. Service was fast & food well cooked, the interior environment of Caffiend is very clean & spacious with plenty of seating either inside or outside.
Paid in total for 2 breakfasts & two drinks AUD $58.30
We will both visit again & highly recommended.

We visited this cafe on two occasions during our stay in Cairns. With indoor and outdoor seating, the place is regularly full, being popular at peak times.
They serve excellent coffee and nice fresh juices. The menu has a variety of breakfast and brunch options with always tasty well cooked eggs. We had both the poached and scrambled eggs and they were always cooked to perfection. Most of the breakfast places I visited on my trip served, to my taste, overcooked bacon however at caffiend this was soft and perfectly cooked.
Would strongly recommend for a hearty tasty meal to start the day!

We came for breakfast and asked for outdoor seating. We ordered coffee first but took a good 10min wait before we got them. I had the miso egg and my brother had the Reuben sandwich. The waitress asked if I wanted the extra salmon and avocado on the side and I said no but i was surprised to see the extra salmon and avocado on the side of my dish when I didn’t ask for them… the food took sometime to come out. Maybe a good 15-20min. Wish the service was faster but the waitress was lovely.

Customer Service was good but quality of food was very poor. Ordered a Mushrooms and Feta, two small pieces of feta the size of 10 cent coin. Reasonable sized portions. Nice aesthetics but would not return.

We tried this place as the reviews are good and we were pleased with the meals and coffee we received. The coffee is tasty, and the açai bowl was enjoyable enough. I had the mushroom and feta dish which was pretty bland and only came with 3, 5 cent piece sized dabs of feta. You can’t call a dish mushroom and feta when the feta is used as a garnish so that let the overall experience down. The staff were friendly and the place was busy so I’m sure the other meals are good too!

I am a regular to Caffeind. As I love the coffee, food and customer service, however I went in recently for my usual takeaway almond latte and the woman that served me wasnt nice. I friendly asked if they were going to be letting people sit inside for there takeaway coffees as there was a takeaway only sign on the front door and noone sitting inside and she smugly replied no, were not doing that implying my question was stupid as i walked outside to wait for my coffee I heard her repeat what I had asked to the other staff laughing at how I even asked a question like that. When I finally got my coffee, it was warm and not very nice. Very dissapointed in Caffiend as Ive been a regular customer since yous have been open and have spent alot of money at your cafe. I will not be coming back because of this experience and I will be telling my friends and family not to either you have lost a loyal customer.

I'm very sorry to read this Clair. Even though the staff had been told that day that they were stood down due to closures and were all very stressed, there is never an excuse for such behaviour! So I'm truly sorry for your distress.
It certainly is not the manner in with we treat our customers, many of which have become some of our closest friends.
It has been heartbreaking watching what this global melt down has done, many in our community are without work and some have completely lost their livelihood. Alongside that though, and shown by may of the same people, there is great human warmth and strength. All we can hope is that we learn from our mistakes, and try to move forward intentionally with love and forgiveness in the forefront of our minds.
I hope you and your family are healthy and faring well, and again please accept my humblest apologies.

We were very disappointed. We had been saving a visit to this cafe for our last breakfast in Cairns as it had such good reviews. The coffee was good but I ordered smashed chat potatoes, poached eggs and tomato. The potatoes were not what I would call smashed and were undercooked in the middle, the toast was like bread and hardly toasted. I mentioned this but it was not acknowledged. My husband had an egg and bacon bap which was average at best. We would recommend Chambers or bang and grind above this for breakfast.

Awesome vegan breakfast options! Wait staff more than happy to accomodate swapping out eggs for chat potatoes. Good serving of avocado with the ciabatta bread and the fried mushrooms were amazing. Coffee by the Tattooed Sailor was excellent and the cafe has oat and other plant milk options. Highly recommend. ☕️

We took breakfast here every morning over the course of a short stay in Cairns. The coffee and food was consistently good with great attention to detail. The staff were friendly and helpful. I highly recommend visiting Caffiend for a leisurely breakfast when you are staying locally.

Go here! The tasty breakfast was expertly executed.
The native produce was balanced well and a core part of the breakfast, not a tacked on extra, and i say that as someone who farms over 200 species of edible bush tukker.
Coffee they roast was delicious and i’m a victorian coffee snob 🤪.
Staff were efficient, very friendly and the atmosphere was good.

Well we'd spent quite a bit of time researching coffee in Cairns prior to our holiday and judging by the reviews, this place was top of our list. However, it failed to deliver.
The food was excellent, so big tick there, but we found the coffee to be weak and tasteless. In face I had to order another shot to put in my coffee, but even that only made a slight difference.
That said, just by the reviews, a lot of people like weak coffee. So I'd recommend this place just for the food. The smashed avo was amazing.

I had the bushy creek beef sandwich. The house made bread was Devine as well as the pickles and beef. Simply perfect. Not to mention the deconstructed dirty chai served by the lovely Julia. Allowing me to have a really strong dirty chai and simply enjoy the chai on its own. Honestly a must in cairns

Best coffee in Cairns. We had a gourmet breakfast and coffee experience with helpful staff, awesome ambience, and seriously good coffee. Beans are sourced and roasted in house and the staff even gave complimentary tastings to get extra feedback from American coffee enthusiasts (us). We had the eggs Benedict and the Brekkie Toasty on focaccia and both were delightful. Locals at the shop were friendly and informed us we chose correctly for breakfast. After trying many places in Cairns, I can confidently say this is the best coffee shop and arguably some of the best food this lovely town has to offer

Our beans are roasted locally by our sister business, Tattooed Sailor Coffee Roasters. You can see the roasting process for yourself at their in-house espresso bar, Newell Street Cafe! We actually bake our bread (focaccia and ciabatta) in-house and are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your visit!

In the middle of the cbd near to all the other highlights of cairns, easy to get to with a short walk. Chilled and laid back, its the perfect spot for lunch. Seating on the curbside or inside, room for singles to small groups. The staff are quick, helpful and super friendly. I really loved my coffee, and the food was great! Creative spin on my fav classic - Green Tea Eggs Benny. Highly recommend, I will be back!

Food, drinks and service was absolutely outstanding. Amazing! The girls on shift were very welcoming and friendly. Juice was just perfect, not too much and not too little flavour. The coffee was absolutely delicious. Not bitter at all!!! Food presentation was beautiful. Table service with water and Salt&Pepper. Highly recommend, will be back. My favourite cafe yet! Thank you to all staff!
