Wasn’t too sure when I walked into this place as it was super busy. Restaurants that are packed tend to have waiters that get short with you and the food never comes out as good as it can be but none of these applies to Cock N Bull. The service was super friendly, just excellent! I got the beef lasagne and my friend splurged on a chicken parmi with chips and salad. Portions are huge and delicious. Safe to say we walked away happy, will def be back!

Cock and Bulls is a great place to eat. Both for tourists and locals Cock and Bulls offers a great variety of meals.
Cock and Bulls serves great tasting food with big portions (also great for sharing). The food came quickly and was perfectly cooked. With a style of a pub or sports-bar it has a great ambiance and combined with nice and helpful waitresses the restaurant gives a excellent dining experience.

Thanks to Covid19, finding a restaurant for lunch or dinner is not easy. Many are closed or have restricted hours and all have social distancing number restrictions. Whilst the Cock and Bull is not in the main Esplanade drag, being close to the Cairns Hospital, it has extensive opening hours and a number of large dining areas.
But what about the food, you may ask. A note at the bottom of the menu stated that the menu was restricted due to Covid19 but there was plenty of choice from our perspective. We went for the Madras Beef Curry at around the average price of $22.50. Initially we were confused by its delivery on two plates, one empty, one with the curry, until we started to eat it. Locals obviously realise that, unless you are big eaters, one between two people is sufficient. The curry was delicious with plenty of tender beef, rice and poppadoms.
In summary, a large pub with lots of atmosphere and dining areas, great food at reasonable prices. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Everyone keeps raving about this place so I decided to check it out with some friends and I was not dissapointed. Ordered the one kilo of Chicken Wings with Satay & Smokey BBQ sauce and it was a feed and a half! Fun, vibrant ambience with an old school twist. If you want a good feed and a true Cairns dining experience Cock N Bull is a must TRY! They been around for 30 years, must be doing something right!

I ordered a chicken Kiev meal with salad and chips. Leaving my salad to last, I took a bite which left me with a rotten taste in my mouth. When confronting bar staff about my situation they asked if my Kiev was sitting on the lettuce, 'I said no' and suggested that they put salad in a bowl in future. In my case you could clearly see the lettuce was turning. Then was spoken to in a rudely manner after giving some good advice. Which didn't go down well. Between this and my beer soaked seat I sat upon I will not be returning to Cock and Bull.

We had a great meal, char grilled filet steaks. The prices are very good, the menu is extensive and the meals are huge. It's a very cheerful atmosphere and children are welcome in the restaurant. Meals are served inside or outside and there is a seperate covered seating area where patrons can go to have a smoke. The disability access is excellent. The staff were efficient and hospitable. The entire place is very well run. There's no table service but that keeps the prices down. There's a seperate area with pokey machines. They show sports games on large screens so it's something for everyone. Highly recommended.

Called in for the first time for Lunch on Tuesday 27/10/20. An excellent choice of meals from the menu + specials, we decided on Coconut Curry Chicken + Rice & Pappadans & second meal Chicken Schnitzel + Parmigiana with Chips & Garden Salad + large jug of iced lemonade.
Meals were served within 15 mins & very large portions.
Prices very reasonable & parking is easy behind the pub.
Spacious relaxed atmosphere throughout.
We would defiantly call in again.

great food! the lamb roast was very nicely done. the cajun grilled fish was soft and just right. the fries were crispy. the portions are large! the music was just awesome! extremely friendly servers.. overall.. had a great time! would definitely visit again!

We came to this restaurant for dinner during our trip to Cairns, and it's definitely worth trying one. While there is a lot of restaurant for tourist around the hotels, you can feel the local atmosphere here, and actually both the taste and the size of portion is great. The price is also very competitive. Highly recommend to the people who don't want to be just one of mass tourist but the one experienced the local things.
夫婦旅行で1月に利用しました。観光用のお高いレストランがひしめく中、美味しいローカルなパブとして貴重な存在です。街中からは少し離れますが、地元の雰囲気を味わうという意味も込めておすすめなお店です。Uberで片道600円くらいでした。自分でカウンターでオーダーするシステムなので、店員さんにあまり気を遣わなくて良いお店です。あとステーキは絶品です。どの料理も量が多いので、シェアでもいいと思います。

My wife and I walked in from our accommodation around the corner.
Meals were reasonably priced but almost inedible. My wife’s roast pork consisted of over cooked meat swimming in gravy on a plate piled high with mashed potato. The Apple sauce was a grayish brown colour, didn’t dare eat it. I had the battered mackerel with chips and salad. The fish was cold inside and definitely not fresh.
Chips were soggy.
The decor is old, tired and grubby.
Won’t be going back.

mimi provided superb counter service st cock & bull carnivore! we ordered the croc/‘roo combo...prepared perfectly delicious. chips were yummy too. and, the salad provided nice greens. nice beer and wine selection. definitely recommend for a nice, authentic aussie pub experience.

Away from CBD bustle. Easy to find, plenty of space! Atmosphere is great, a happening place feels like Irish Tavern meets rocky mountain lodge then crashes into and Aussie Pub! Staff are amazing pleasent. Food is amazing! Sirloin steak, fat juicy cooked perfectly, best chips ive had, wash it with a cold pale ale, that you can only buy here. What a night. Highly reccommend!!

Went for dinner with the family on a Monday night after it was recommended by a local. Typical pub feel to the place with a hunting lodge theme. The staff were really friendly and the meals were huge. Good old fashioned pub grub and lots of it. The two kitchens to collect meals, depending on what you ordered, was a bit quirky but staff explained the process so not hard to do. They don’t supply take away containers but you can BYO for your left overs and you’ll probably need them. None of us managed to get through our meals and wish we’d been warned to bring some.

Not a British pub, more of a Ozzie pub. Big and spacious.
Food is provided in big servings but is pub grub. I got the Cajun Fish and it was inedible due to the amount of spice mix that it was coated in it was also very dry like it was sitting under a heat lamp for 20 mins. Kids Fish was also very dry. Bangers weren't very good either, even though they were big they had the consistency of a Hot dog.
Wouldn't go back unless I really had to.

We ordered fish and chips, staff member questioned if we wanted the beer battered fish and chips. It’s the only ones on the menu. We ordered Fish and Chips because nothing else looked appealing. The fish and chips were horrendous - batter was on a par with a Dagwood dog! Fish was also questionable. Couldn’t wait to get out of there
