Dropped in here for coffee and cake, good service and nice wine/coffee and cake. Great position overlooking the water.

Between the three of us, none of us were pleased with our meals. The duck spring rolls were fine, the dipping sauce was sickly sweet, though. Coconut prawns were very heavy in their batter, weren't finished. The ricotta gnocchi was average, quite lacking in flavour...but overall was fine. The twice cooked pork belly was very dry, poor flavours, the scallops weren't fresh tasting. Very disappointing.More

Hi GC-1990-A This is very disappointing to read you were not satisfied with your experience with us. We receive a-lot of comments about the dipping sauce (sweet and sour plum) and all very well received, we actually had a lady purchase a whole jar the...More

Ochre continues to be our favourite restaurant in Cairns and for very good reasons. Amazing food. Most recent lunch of coconut prawns were plump, crunchy and full of flavour, roo satays melted in the mouth, quail had a wonderful spicy tang. Good wines. Lovely views...of the Inlet. Attentive staff. Great value. What more could you wish for.More

Staff were friendly however tables seated very very closely together, we could not extend elbows without risk of touching other guests which was quiet surprising with COVID-19 dining restrictions. We Ordered the tasting menu and it wasn’t at all like what was advertised. First 3...dishes including pork belly were deep fried. There was no theme to dishes and almost there were trying to combine cuisines from different nations on the same plate? Kimchi with coconut prawn? Scallop on parsnip purée and deep fried pork belly (only 2 pieces not at all what the menu suggests) overcooked Quail with Asian influence spice mix with watermelon ? Thai spices on an Indian spice based baked rice served with a very sweet earthy spiced beef cheek? Dessert was banana chips with canned caramel and ice cream in a cup.....very unimpressive for the $210 the meal not including drinks cost us. We couldn’t recommend and social distance guidelines are most definitely not followed !More

We had Crockett n prawns and ricotta gnocci for starters and for dessert wattleseed pavlova and damson plum mouse. The desserts were amazing and certainly the standout dishes. The pavlova was smooth texture and gorgeous flavour and a huge portion. I do think the mains...were a little expensive but we'll worth it.More

We arrived late to cairns and couldn’t find any where to eat. The staff went above and beyond to get us In. The food was fantastic and the service was impeccable. Each dish ate as it read there were no disappointments and no surprises. The...beef cheek red curry was outstanding and the tacos were sublime. The staff were absolutely delightful. It was just not trying to be anything it wasn’t. Superb night and so reasonably priced.More

We ordered the beef cheeks (YUM), the focaccia (YUM), and the pork belly and scallops (really meh - scallops were mushy and pork belly really chewy). My strawberry daiquiri was watery and very expensive. The restaurant was also SO HOT - we couldn't figure out...why they wouldn't remove the awning outside to let the breeze in!!More

My partner and I had lunch here this afternoon. The wrap with chicken was absolutely delicious and I was pleased to find that the iced tea also appeared to be freshly made and was also delicious, the best iced tea I've had in a long...time. My partner ordered the ultimate Aussie burger and while he found it delicious he did mention that it was a bit difficult to eat due to the size of the patty, which honestly I think is just user error and personal preference. The only reason they lose a star is because the food took a little longer than we would have expected but ultimately I found it to be really good and would definitely recommend it and also return. Also excellent value for money!More

Perfectly cooked Australian cuisine. We wanted a fancier restaurant for our last night of our holiday and were not disappointed. A little more expensive than other restaurants but well worth it for the quality and delicacy of the food.

The Australians are very friendly and wonderful hosts. No problem with children, but the food is different, so you might want to bring something for your child to eat if he or she is not inclined to try new foods.
