Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had barramundi & fries for an early dinner and we were so disappointed. The fish was dry & tough and the fries were disgusting. Not sure how you ruin such a lovely fish as barramundi but they sure did. Won’t be back.

Bought over $120 of fresh seafood - prawns, oysters and lobster. OMG! What a waste of money! The prawns were soggy and you could not peel them, when you did they were tasteless. Same with the half lobster that was $30, no taste at all....The oysters tasted like they were sitting there for days. So disappointed, such a waste of money. We then spent another $50 on cooked seafood. Fish, chips and calamari, the seagulls enjoyed the rubbish. We wont be back, so dissapointed!More

Greasy soggy fish, must remember not to come back. I forgot that I gave it 2 stars 5 years ago, so really only deserves one star as they haven't done anything to improve.

In Moreton Bay one would expect tasty and fresh Moreton Bay Bugs, not so. Bland seafood, not worth the drive.

I wish I had checked Tripadvisor before going to Morgans last Sunday for late-afternoon fish and chips. Obviously the proprietors don't read Tripadvisor either, or perhaps they would have done something to address the many unfavourable reviews posted here over the past couple of years....My wife ordered battered gold band snapper, I had battered flathead. They were the only fillets in the fresh-fish window at the takeaway counter that looked remotely fresh; the rest was grey and dry. We would have selected some other fish to be cooked from the fresh seafood shop, but were told "new owners" no longer allowed this and anyway the takeaway fish was the same. It certainly was not! I bought a canned drink and asked for a glass - none available. When we picked up our meal, the outdoor eating area was drab, scruffy and untidy and we were besieged by seagulls, pigeons and bin chickens, which had plenty of tid-bits pecking up the uncleared scraps. The meal was OK but unexceptional for a venue with a fishing fleet tied up outside. We couldn't wait to leave. Before ordering our meal we had looked at the adjacent fresh seafood shop, as we usually like to buy some other fish or prawns to take home. Perhaps we would have, if the service had been different. My wife asked to taste a cooked prawn and was told by a lady who could not have been more indifferent that the owners' instructions were that customers were allowed only one sample. We both tasted this one tiger prawn and when we said it was tasteless the response from a clearly uninterested sales lady was a shrug of the shoulders and, again, "only one prawn". We walked off. I'm sorry to write a long, negative review, but the freshest seafood, served well and enjoyed in an attractive waterside setting is supposed to be a treat that surpasses any McDonalds or KFC. The current operators, with their don't-care attitude, clearly don't understand that and are trashing a business that had a great reputation for decades. We live in the western suburbs of Brisbane and an outing - a long drive - to what I regarded as the best seafood market on the Peninsula and one of the best in the Brisbane region was always a pleasure. With fresh product like this and a waterside location, it could - and should - be sensational. But after this experience, it will be a long time before I return.More

Very disappointed with my mud crab. It was full of water and had no flavour. I am guessing it wasnt fresh but frozen then thawed. Not what you'd expect from a fresh seafood market. Oysters though were very good but I can get the same...5 mins down the road from my place. Calamari and chips were very ordinary indeed. This was supposed go be my special little treat. Will not bother in future.More

Great atmosphere outdorr seating, beautiful sunny spot. Food was pretty bad, it's a hit or miss. Bring friends here for the first time not much positive feedback, over cooked. Won't be recommending this place anymore, 3rd visit no more. Your cook needs to show passion🥴

We had a fantastic time at Morgans, I organised an impromptu Birthday Party for my husband with friends, ot was a huge hit, everyone loved it! We had meals ranging from the seafood platter ($40 but well worth it) to the fisherman's basket ($17 a...real bargain!) and Oysters Kilpatrick (scummy!) We were also allowed to take a birthday cake.... really couldn't rate it high enough, all the food was delicious. 5 Star from me!!More

This is a fresh seafood market that you would think should cook fresh fish in their takeaway outlet but we differ to agree. Ordered a fisherman’s basket and the best thing in it was the 2 sea scallops. The calamari was edible but the fish...was dry and tasteless and the chips were last weeks. We will not be back.More

Hubby had the prawn and seafood sauce platter which was beautiful my crumbed barramundi was cooked disgustingly. When you fry fish wherever I have gotten cooked seafood it is left in the basket to drain out the oil.... Was not the case yesterday it was...drowning in oil and swimming in it. Surely you should teach anyone cooking fish that its not to be served swimming in oil. Its been like 10 years since we ate here last and after that I'm pretty sure it will be 10 years till we return if ever. Sorry you've lost our custom.More

Chips were soggy and inedible. Pear and walnut salad was dry with 3 small pieces of pear - lots of rocket and Parmesan. Peeled prawns not clean. The only good thing was the oysters kilpatrick. Won’t bother coming back. Much better seafood around

The fishing boats pull up right outside the restaurant. Most, if not, all their fish is caught locally.
