Consistently in Brisbane"s top 10 dining venues and it was easy to see why. Fantastic food, wonderful service and excellent wine list. Something for the adventurous and for the reserved. Well worth a visit. Be prepared to pay around $100 or more per person for the experience. Tables a little two close for first dates. Groups and couples catered for.

On a recent trip to Brisbane we walked along the river looking for a restaurant in which to dine, on a warm evening. We were about to give up as we arrived back at our hotel, and spotted E'cco Bistro just across the street. We were welcomed, without reservation. The service was attentive, helpful and friendly. And the food? Fabulous!... More

We haven't been to E'cco for about ten years and it has changed a little bit in appearance but somehow the food is even better than I remembered it. I had the organic chicken which was served with pumpkin and smoked curd. It was one of the really outstanding meals I've had - and who would have thought with plain... More

The staff were very attentive and helpful, service was really professional and the overall experience was polished. It was a set menu, which I only glanced at before booking and I forgot to tell them that I don't eat lamb. I mentioned this and they changed it to chicken without batting an eye. The school prawns with cucumber were delicious... More

Excellent 5 course with matching wines all of which were well presented and delicious. We all enjoyed the evening and will be back for another special occasion.

E'cco almost has cult status in Brisbane so I was keen to try it out. We had a table for 6 on Christmas Eve. The restaurant was boisterous and inviting. Good selection of starters and mains. I started with the sashimi of king fish. Followed that up with the duck with stone fruits. Sides of cauliflower and beans were ordered.... More

Somehow I have managed to miss E'cco for the last 20 years, must be the extended walk down town though it was such a hot day, we cabbed it. This place was hard to fault. Food, service and ambience were all excellent. We all ordered a variety of entrees, mains and deserts and by all reports, all were very good... More

In having never been before, we were extremely impressed with this restaurant. The Set Menu was brave, tantalising & very enjoyable. The wine selection was complimented by the food for each of the 6 courses. We will certainly return to try the Menu. In finishing, the Service by the well organised Team was faultless. We're very impressed. Merry Christmas &... More

My work had hired the private dining room off Adelaide Street for 14 people for our Christmas party and it was simply beautiful! We had a 3 choices each for entree, mains and desserts (with all items available off their regular menu) and the food was absolutely delicious. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals and the girls did a pretty good... More

The service was good apart from an allergen being served to one guest. The wait person was very apologetic and the meal was taken off the bill. The food generally lacked the sophistication of previous visits. Chose the tasting menu matched with wines, wines were interesting. The tuna and peach dish had an earthy taste to it that was distracting,... More

Description
To much anticipation by Philip Johnson's strong local following, e'cco bistro opened its doors in 1995, starting what has turned out to be a Brisbane landmark restaurant. Located in an historic building on the fringe of Brisbane's central business district, the century old former tea warehouse oozes with character an ambiance. Almost twenty years on, e'cco underwent a total refurbishment in October of 2014, giving it a contemporary look, yet preserving the inviting, warm bistro feel that has stood the test of time.

As Philip says "We do as little as possible with the best ingredients available."
