This was the best meal at a restaurant I've had in Australia. The restaurant experience my wife and I had was beyond excellent. There was a concert going on in the Brisbane exhibition grounds nearby when we visited and we were worried this would intrude into the restaurant. It didn't. With the music inside, you could of been anywhere in France enjoying a meal. The ambience in the restaurant was excellent. We were on the first service at 6 and you had to be there on time. From entering the restaurant, you were warmly greeted and seated at the table. The service was impeccable. The waiters were attentive but didn't crowd you. We ordered off the standard menu, it had about 4 to 5 choices for each course. The waiter had the sommelier come over when asked and they helped me do a wine match for each course which was excellent. The food was amazing. I didn't put any photos up of this as you need to experience the culinary sensation. The food came out with great timings. We finished of with some of the best desserts I've ever had then had coffee. With the coffee, they bought some beautiful little profiteroles out with these and these were amazing as well. Yes, it is a little expensive and we spent a bit on the evening, but the experience is so well worth it and rewarding, we are going to do it again soon. Thank you to the Montrachet team for making our evening absolutely delightful.

From the free city parking close by, to the comprehensive wine list, Montrachet in King Street Brisbane did not disappoint. As lovers of French food this was our first visit to this inner city Bistro. Both the range and quality of the food were top class. The choice is for either The Chef's 5 course menu or a la Carte. My husband and I both went for the latter. My duck appetiser was exquisite as was my crab souffle. Hubbies French onion soup was the best he has ever had and his duck was perfectly cooked. We both ate bread and side dishes so although the servings were not large we had to forego a dessert as we were both too full to order one. The setting was chic, comfortable and welcoming, and the service friendly, attentive and helpful. We will be returning very soon.

We had the set menu here last night on New Year’s Eve, consisting of 5 courses of exquisite food with imaginative flavour combinations that worked absolutely perfectly together. Beautiful presentation, lovely ambience, impeccable service, amazing cocktails and an extensive wine list! We were curious to experience Montrachet under new management and they definitely exceeded our expectations, very happy to dine here again!

Initially a good impression, very well set out restuarant and the service level from the wait staff was good. It did seem they were afraid of the Maitre D. Menu is a little confusing, but eventually sorted it out. We chose the three course menu. Unfortunately this is where for me things went left field. For the main, I ordered the "Barbequed White Pyrenees lamb rump". Presentation was good. The lamb was covered by the zuchini flower. I then cut into the lamb, it was so rare it literally, could have been cut off the lanb whilst the lamb was running toward the barbeque, never actually getting to the barbeque. It was cold (less than 35 degrees C) and bloody. I did not eat it as I like my meat dishes at the very least hot. My partner had the Catch of the day. It too was under cooked in that when fish (generally) is served with skin on, the skin should be crispy. The skin was soft and not properly cooked. At this stage of course I was dissapointed in what we had been served. But that was not the final straw. When the bill was presented I signed for $238.00. When the credit card went though my bank it was $241.57?? who knows for what, I don't care as it is a small adjustment, but I do think any and all charges should be reflected on the bill. Will I return? Up until I was served the cold bloody lamb and fish, yes, but after the lamb and fish dishes, absoultely not.

We went to Montrachet to celebrate a significant birthday and were so hoping this would be an amazing experience. We left disappointed and feeling pushed around by the experience. We chose the degustation menu with paired wines, over $200+pp. The food was okay (surprisingly average) and the service in our 2hr setting was rushed, clinical and cold. The meals and wine came out very quickly, the wine was delivered in a manner that boarded on disdain. Rush, rush, rush, rush. Extremely disappointing all around, and certainly not a restaurant I would go back to. There are so many other great Brisbane restaurants to choose from. Bottom line - Montrachet lacked warmth and heart. Its like it has almost lost its way...

We were invited to a birthday dinner to be held at the restaurant. On arrival was shown into a private dining room which had one long wooden table and 10 chairs. We were aware that a 2 course meal was $72 each and 7 people turned up. We each paid for our meals then the waiter hit up the birthday lady for a minimum charge of $1500 for the use of the room. There were no decorations provided nor was the host aware of that charge. Management came out and eventually they compromised but that will be our last visit to their restaurant.

We really enjoyed dinner here for our anniversary. The waitress was lovely and very helpful (I can’t remember her name but she was young with a French accent). The food was amazing. Although we were initially apprehensive because of the price, the food really was delicious.

I had wanted to try this restaurant for a while and waited for our 25th wedding anniversary to try it. We felt rushed from the moment we sat down. We were a party of four and our drinks order was taken in two parts as we weren’t ready when they first asked and they appeared hesitant to wait so they took half our orders and came back for the other two. I couldn’t tell if they were trying to be super efficient but we felt rushed. We ordered the tasting menu. The appetizers were interesting. The scallops were alright but the cauliflower purée it came with was too sweet. The gnocchi delicious, the lamb was very disappointing, it was beyond rare and tough, all courses were served one after the other and we felt very rushed. Not at all a relaxing evening. The last course dessert was the most disappointing. It read well but was flavourless. All that said, credit where credit is due. I can recommend the gnocchi and the bread and truffle, honey butter was the highlight of the evening. On the whole I felt it was over rated and definitely not worth the cost.

Atmosphere was nice but as it was an early sitting I was afraid of being rushed through. My fears were not misplaced as orders for us to check-in, review the menu available via QR code, but also paper version though this was hard to read due to the low lighting, and order drinks came thick and fast. Entrees were ok but my crab soufflé came out volcanic hot and I had to wait for it to cool. Mains arrived shortly after and were adequate. Desserts which we were pestered about ordering early were bland. Toilets not in the restaurant but down the down the street, not good for security in this day and age and not what I would expect from a restaurant in this price range. Overall, we had a nice time as our own company and the occasion distracted us enough from the hustle.

Really enjoyed this experience even though there are 2 sittings. The menu is well designed to offer variety and the experienced wait staff ensure every thing runs like clockwork so you don't feel hurried or pressured. The chef took some time to chat with our table and his culinary history is impressive.

We had a beautiful evening here- the food was truly exquisite, along with the overall ambience in this delightful eatery. Our table sampled the French onion soup, escargot and the soufflé to start. All delicious. My main was the lamb rack which was cooked to perfection. My husband said his duck was so good and I got to sample my friend’s snapper which was the fish special... simply divine! I have to remark on the service which without a doubt was the best I have experienced in a very long time- so attentive, friendly and courteous, yet so discreet. Wine list is extensive to satisfy any palate So great to have found this French restaurant. We will definitely be coming back!!!

We were a table of six and five of us opted for the tasting menu. We weren't disappointed. The dishes were exceptional and the flavours really complemented each other. From when we walked in we were welcomed with enthusiasm and friendliness. Loved the ambience and it was also refreshing to have enough light to see everything by! Only criticism was the duck. While it was cooked really well a couple of us felt that it needed a slight sweet or sourness to the sauce as it seemed a little monotone in flavour. It certainly didn't dull the experience at all though. To top it up you get free parking just round the corner which is great in a busy area. Highly recommended and we will be back!

I cannot speak more highly of the friendly, professional amazing experience I had having lunch at Montrachet Restaurant in Brisbane. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly, shown to our table and introduced to our engaging waitress. The flavour, taste and presentation of our food was phenomenal so we were more than happy to pay the prices expected for this 5-star restaurant. The fact that there is no outlook is compensated for by the elegant, interesting interior accompanied by an extensive wine cellar on show and the lovely, refined atmosphere. Parking is either on the street outside or better still at a Carpark Station only about 50 metres away to enable no time restraint. I shall mention in passing that the only concern we had while there was the close proximity of the tables for two on either side of us. Not a major issue and I know it is a trend these days but for the privacy and comfort of your clientele a little more space between tables would be appreciated. Overall a truly wonderful experience which we all deserve when we venture out to celebrate life at a Restaurant.

You have to order the day before you need the meals. You can either pick it up from King Street, Bowen Hills or have it delivered if you are in the designated area. We ordered Friday for delivery between 2 and 4 on Saturday. it is great because we had to finish off the cooking of each dish which means it is hot and super delicious - just like a restaurant meal. The instructions are very easy to follow and very easy to do. Loved the crab souffle, St Agur Gnocchi, Shark Bay Scallops, Duck a l'orange and Stockyard Black Angus steak. I have recommended many of my friends to order from Montrachet before it goes back to being a superb restaurant

A great night. Staff were so friendly, helpful and accommodating. Lamb was the BEST I’ve EVER eaten and mum loves the crab soufflé so much she has TWO! Very Covid aware and although seating is timed for two sittings we never felt rushed being the early sitters. Would thoroughly recommend especially for a special occasion
