Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was the best meal at a restaurant I've had in Australia. The restaurant experience my wife and I had was beyond excellent. There was a concert going on in the Brisbane exhibition grounds nearby when we visited and we were worried this would intrude...into the restaurant. It didn't. With the music inside, you could of been anywhere in France enjoying a meal. The ambience in the restaurant was excellent. We were on the first service at 6 and you had to be there on time. From entering the restaurant, you were warmly greeted and seated at the table. The service was impeccable. The waiters were attentive but didn't crowd you. We ordered off the standard menu, it had about 4 to 5 choices for each course. The waiter had the sommelier come over when asked and they helped me do a wine match for each course which was excellent. The food was amazing. I didn't put any photos up of this as you need to experience the culinary sensation. The food came out with great timings. We finished of with some of the best desserts I've ever had then had coffee. With the coffee, they bought some beautiful little profiteroles out with these and these were amazing as well. Yes, it is a little expensive and we spent a bit on the evening, but the experience is so well worth it and rewarding, we are going to do it again soon. Thank you to the Montrachet team for making our evening absolutely delightful.More

I think great restaurant experiences aren’t just about the amazing food and wine. They are also about how the staff made you feel. We felt so looked after which added to our enjoyment of our evening. Thank you Charles and Romain - very knowledgeable, friendly...and welcoming. We will be back.More

From the free city parking close by, to the comprehensive wine list, Montrachet in King Street Brisbane did not disappoint. As lovers of French food this was our first visit to this inner city Bistro. Both the range and quality of the food were top...class. The choice is for either The Chef's 5 course menu or a la Carte. My husband and I both went for the latter. My duck appetiser was exquisite as was my crab souffle. Hubbies French onion soup was the best he has ever had and his duck was perfectly cooked. We both ate bread and side dishes so although the servings were not large we had to forego a dessert as we were both too full to order one. The setting was chic, comfortable and welcoming, and the service friendly, attentive and helpful. We will be returning very soon.More

We did the 6 course degustation menu which was varied and interesting. There was only the lobster course that we were not delighted about. Excellent service, delicious food, great ambience and very convenient location. A wonderful experience for a birthday celebration.

The food was rich, decadent and unashamedly French. The menu is full of French classics, the atmosphere is warm & inviting. The service was equally unpretentious and warm. We will definitely be returning to Montrachet.

We had dinner here for our 51st wedding anniversary - delayed from our 50th due to my health issues. The food was outstanding but the prices reflected the quality. The quality and the presentation was excellent and the flavours were very well managed. Service was...OK, but not great, which is why I have rated it as 4 stars. But, it's still a great restaurant. It certainly is not the place for a quiet, romantic French dinner - as the noise levels are too high. Both the music and background noise from the kitchen were very noticeable. Consequently, everyone spoke loudly as well.More

Montrachet does not offer BYO. They specialise in French wine which they import directly from France. Yes, it is pricey, but then again, the quality of the menu, service, and ambience of the restaurant is exquisite. Chef... More
