Obviously a popular place with two big tables of people in on the Saturday night that four of us booked in for dinner. Despite the full house our meals came out in very good time and the food was excellent. Good menu with a range of options for all tastes.

I went back after being away for more than 15 years and this place has changed with the times but the food is still as good as ever! It's the best! Thank you :)

A friend and myself, decided to get an Indian one Thursday night, and to get it delivered. The restaurant is located only two and half kilometres away, yet it took a hour and a half for the food to arrive. Thiry minutes longer than the restaurant told us The food was alright for the main course of Chicken Saag; I... More

During a visit to Brisbane we decided to take the kids out to an Indian restaurant for dinner and I have to say the Taj didn't disappoint. Upon entry we were welcomed by the owner and taken to our table. The prices were great and the size of the meals were perfect. We were slightly worried about the spice level... More

We found this restaurant reasonably priced and the food very tasty. We had both the Mango chicken and the curried chicken. My wife and I became instantly addicted to the Mango Chicken with Spinach Naan bread. We ate in the restaurant and another evening we took out. We were able to share the mango chicken meal as it was quite... More

First time visit with friends from Brisbane who know this restaurant .Very busy but still able to experience excellent service. Noise was acceptable due to carpeted floor and window coverings, We had four courses and naan bread for $60.00, brought our own wine. Each dish was true to the menu and plenty of it

We always come here! It is our favourite Indian. We would like our picture on the wall though next to Humperdinck :)

My friend and I passed a number of restaurants including Karma, a Nepalese/Indian restaurant, and several Thai and Japanese Restaurants before settling on the Taj Mahal in Brunswick St Newfarm. Service was ok. Surroundings were ok for a walk in no booking kind of place. The offer of 'free rice' was not a consideration... however it soon became a bonus... More

This restaurant between the Valley and Newfarm is a touch of authentic India in the capital city. The staff is friendly and efficient. The menu is varied and includes some well-known favourites as well as some unexpected suggestions such as Chicken and Mango. Great value for money and corkage is a minimum. Could tend to become noisy on the popular... More
