This restaurant has exceptional Italian food and is in a very convenient location for pre QPAC show dinners. We visited this restaurant for the first time in a number of years (we reside in Perth) and were delighted to discover that the quality of food, wine and service had not diminished.
I enjoyed the ceviche Salmon whilst my wife ordered the Calamari entrees. Both were expectational.
For mains my wife ordered the Tuna Pizza special, i ordered the roasted half chicken with accompanying roasted Potatoes . Again wonderful food.
The wine list is small in number but does have very good quality options.
Lastly were walk- ins to the restaurant at 5 pm and our show was commencing at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre at 7. This restaurant filled up very very quickly so our advice would be to book to guarantee a table. We were shown to seats at the bar by the very well organized and experienced front of house manager and were served at our seats by a wonderful staff member , Ava.
This restaurant was the start of an exceptional evening of fine food and wine and wonderful play at QPAC- Love Stories.
Thank you to the staff at Julius for helping to make our evening memorable

We went to Julius a year ago when visiting Brisbane and promptly fell head over heals over their food, so much so that we came back a second time, a year later to dine there again. Julius is rated in the top 5 Italian eateries in Australia and with good reason. These guys have got it right. Good ingredients that are properly cooked make their pizza, pasta and other dishes incredibly tasty.
On their pizza front, they use high quality flour and semolina, which is given a slow rise for 48 hours, and topped with fresh mozzarella and other good stuff. The result is a base that is light, chewy and smoky from their wood-fired oven. I've tried a lot of their different pizzas and each and every one was perfect.
Their pasta is fresh, perfectly cooked and their ragu's are perfect. The duck pappardelle ragu is my favourite, being a beautifully warming and silky dish. The pappardelle is perfectly cooked and it is a dish you don't want to end!
Such excellence means Julius is hugely popular, so there is usually a wait for a table as they do not take bookings for couples or smaller groups. That said, they will take your phone number and call you when a table is free and the wait is so totally worth it.
If you are looking for great Italian, I strongly recommend Julius Pizza!

Went there for a late Friday lunch after one of our local friends recommend this place. We were warmly greeted by the gregarious Maître D who showed us to a table outside, for it was so nice out. The place was very busy…at 2pm! Couples, families loads of kids just happily eating their pizzas and pasta dishes. We started by ordering a nice bottle of Italian Barbera and were given a basket of nice glutinous bread and olive oil to eat while we perused the menu. We landed on a salsiccia pizza, and I must say that it was amongst the very best we’ve ever eaten. The crust was ohhhh so thin and nicely charred bubbly crust. We highly recommend this restaurant, and sincerely hope that we will get the chance to return.

A friend said the Pizza was good . So off we went . We had to wait no less than exactly 100 minutes for the table. So we were starved . We ordered and I note of you are gluten intolerant don’t bother ordering pizza as they only have the grocery store stock gluten free pasta tubes.
We ordered Focaccia bread and what arrived was a pizza dough with pizza sauce on top and a plate yes a plate of cheese melted on the side . Quite possibly the grossest thing ever and defo not focaccia bread. We even asked waitress was that ours . We had 2 pastas and 4 pizza 1 pizza was lovely the others were very very basic and not at all amazing in fact no one finished . The gluten free meal was truly awful and the other pasta dish was ok but not amazing and wasn’t finished . The deserts faired a touch better and we’re indeed edible and generally as expected. The staff were not overly nice , a slight bit snotty, we were Very disappointed in the entire experience and feel as though the staff think they are awesome - they would really want to do a sense check and really look up focaccia bread on Google please cause that was shocking bad . The excruciating price we paid for pizza was shocking even for Australian prices and Can’t recommend at all. Nothing 1 of the 6 of us did get a decent pizza and we also got 3 decent deserts but really for the price and the hype we were defo expecting way more

I hadn’t finished my pizza when my plate was extracted from the table. My family were still eating their under average pasta. My wine glass was taken unfinished and we were presented with the bill before my family were finished with their food and drinks. I commented on the urgency and was advised does this not happen in your country. Absolutely not and I’ve never experienced it in your country. It felt like a quick pizza/pasta express. I defo would not recommend and this ha been my worst experience travelling Australia

Oh WOW!!! My husband and I recently visited Julius Pizzeria and were blown away by the food and the service. We arrived around 8 pm and were seated immediately. Within 2 seconds we were given menus and provided with some water. We ordered Focaccia Rosa, Amatricana pizza, and Tartufo pizza. The Focaccia Rosa arrived within 5 minutes and we were confused for a second because we expected traditional focaccia bread but this was so different and so delicious. The Stracciatella cheese was soooooo amazing. The pizzas arrived shortly after and both tasted amazing. The favours were out of this world. My husband really liked Amatricana pizza, but I loved the Tartufo pizza. The dough was so soft. I highly recommend trying one Rosse pizza and one Bianche pizza. You will not regret it. After our amazing dining experience, we recommend Julius Pizzeria to a couple of our friends who were in Brisbane and they all absolutely loved it. I highly recommend Julius Pizzeria.

This small venue at the end of Fish Lane delivers on flavour and service. The kitchen is on view and this adds to the buzz. The prices are a bit high especially for the beer but the experience is worth it.

We went there mid-week in the evening. The place was very busy, it took about 30 minutes to get in.
We ordered calamari on the recommendation of our waitress and it was delicious, one of the best I had. This was followed by a pizza numero 1. Simple, nothing complicated, and delicious. It reminded me of pizzas I had in Italy,
We also got an espresso and desserts. Coffee was very nice, smooth and sweet (no added sugar), no aftertaste. Tiramisu was fine but nothing extra special.
Overall, great meal. If you are heading there, be prepared to wait as the place is very busy. They take a limited number of reservations, so you can try and reserve a table ahead. If I was to nit pick, the only thing I would suggest that the pizzas be better cut into pieces prior to serving so it is easier to share.

Right opposite Queensland Museum (which is also very good). Not surprised we had a 30 mins wait (it was approx 7.45pm) as it was the evening of Night Fire, part of the Brisbane week festival. Nice pizza, nice beer. Efficient, and friendly staff. They rake your mobile number (if that works for you) and give you a call when your table is free. There are a couple of bars close bar to kill the wait.

We arrived to find a queue of quite a few people waiting for the restaurant to open, so were quite optimistic that the fabulous reviews were true. The staff were pleasant, not great but pleasant enough. There were 4 of us, 2 ordered scaloppini, one of my absolute favourites. When it came out the waiter called it snitzel when he brought it out, oh no, we didn’t order snitzel. He went away and checked and said, this is scaloppini, places it onto the table and left. It was extraordinarily dry, I have never eaten scaloppini without sauce of some kind, it can vary. This was even dry for snitzel, I was hungry and had a train to catch so we ate it, but it would not be something I would recommend anyone to order, it was quite unpleasant. The person in our group who ordered a pizza really enjoyed it, so in fairness it is called a pizzeria, I should have stuck to pizza.

They only book 20 of their 60 tables so we had to wait 20-30 mins for a table when we visited. Not a major issues as there are plenty of venues on Fish Lane for quick drink!
Service was swift, friendly and attentive. Only a slight disappointment with the stuffed olives starter - there were only 5 Olives, severe on a bed of "lunchmeat"! After that though mains of veal and ruck pasta were great as were the desserts. Wine list is spot on. Atmosphere was good.
We were able to eat and be out in good time for a show in QPAC at 7:30pm.

Went here to have a nice dinner before a show at Qpac. On arrival staff were not very welcoming, very blunt and borderline rude. Sat down and the waiter just stood by the table looking at us with a pen and paper in his hand, giving us no time to look at the menu - it was so awkward, we felt so rushed to order our food. Pizza was pretty good, also had the risotto which was really nice. Probably won’t ever go back though, service was terrible.

This review is limited to the magnificent pizza we enjoyed take away, as we couldn’t get a table in this busy restaurant. We were walk ups on a Friday night, and it was packed, with plenty also waiting and those impatient like us wisely chose to order take away rather than miss out altogether. Service was prompt, attentive and the pizza’s delivered quickly and they weee superb. A short stroll to the river at South Bank, and we had pizza by the brown snake under the stars. Brilliant. Will book next time to dine in, but if we can’t get it, will do the same again.

Great atmosphere and friendly (perhaps over officious) staff. This is a production line establishment designed to get you in and out with the minimum of fuss. Food cones quickly and we didn’t feel it was a relaxing environment. As for the food, its grossly overpriced for what you get. Maybe you are paying for the atmosphere. My wife had scallops ($19.50) and I had stuffed olives ($18.00) for entrees (Antipasti) and they were quite delicious but about tapas size. For mains (Secondi) we both had Cotoletta di Vitello ($34.00). This was a crumbed veal schnitzel with a couple of roasted kipfler potatoes and a bit of wilted greenery. Definitely nothing special. I’ve had better schnitzels at my local clubs and pubs for half the price. The pizzas at other tables looked and smelled wonderful and in hindsight maybe we should have stuck to the pizza and pasta dishes. We wont be hurrying back.

Julius was frequently recommended by locals for their pizzas with a warning of waiting times due to its popularity. However we chanced it on a Friday afternoon and got lucky with seats straightaway. We ordered king prawns, pizza, fish of the day and finished off with a tiramisu. Meals felt simple and fresh which worked well and it was quite enjoyable. The price was relatively affordable. Pleasant overall experience and service was ok and quick. Would love to come back if we are able to sit/dine straightaway again but we wouldn’t to wait more than 30 mins for to be seated.
