Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We celebrated my partners 70 th birthday October 28th with 20 family and friends. Amazing service a food. Chose our own dishes. Salt and pepper squid is the best. We had 4 children with us who made a bit of a mess but staff couldn’t...have been kinder or more helpful. And the Bomalska Birthday cake topped it off. Going back for lunch tomorrow with some family that live in Beijing. It’s their favourite restaurant. Thanks Billy and team.More

After being recommended in 2016 and returning frequently, on entry we noticed unhygienic odour and general hygiene of entire restaurant extremely poor, with prices extremely high. Unfortunately we will not be returning.

Absolutely brilliant food and staff. Cannot speak highly enough about the superb quality of the food here. The prize dish - Peking Duck - is without a doubt the best Peking Duck I have ever tasted!!! And I’ve had several in China and other parts...of Asia. The ginger and shallot lobster is also highly recommended!More

With 22 people for a birthday function, we realised that there would be a strain on service but NO. We opted for one of the restaurants own set menu in combination with their famous Peking duck as a treat. What a great night. Service was...fantastic and the dishes proved very popular such that Pine and Bamboo have some new ongoing patrons now - people still complement us about the food and service. We have never been disappointed with P&B dishes and the set menu was a great way to try some different dishes. Best Chinese in Brisbane in our view.More

Billy and his family have maintained their high food standards and more recently added attractive and comfortable seating to complement their other restaurant ideas. The upgrades will suit business clientele for any size groups and the generous and wide menu items will also appeal. We...continue to love the Peking Duck with the San Chow Bow 2nd course. Still world classMore

I had the chance to visit this restaurant twice whilst in Brisbane for work. The food was good. Lots of choices and not too long to wait. It tasted good. The first time they forgot one dish I ordered, but I wasn't charged for it...so it was fine. Nice Chinese food. They accept charge back services for those staying at Quest apartments.More

A group of us went here for a banquet last week and there was good and there was bad. The good ... most of the food was tasty and there was plenty of it The atmosphere was quite pleasant and the staff were friendly .....we had spring rolls, beef, pork, chicken, steamed and fried rice and seafood ... all the usual items you would find in Chinese cuisine. The bad ... when you buy a drink and pay cash, check your change, we were almost ripped off twice for the same drink by the same staff member and in the end it wasn't worth arguing about, if you pay using a credit card, check your statements ...I would suggest they carry calculators and perhaps, a pair of glasses. There were children running through the restaurant which was really annoying. The Chicken was really dry and needed a sauce to make it somewhat edible. I can't say much more except I doubt if I would return to this establishment .. but on the upside, on the way home we found a Lick Ice Cream store which sell ice cream you would cut your right arm off for .. don't cut your other arm or it will be too hard to eat.More

Our family is a massive fan of Pine & Bamboo and owner Billy Wong, with all the staff so friendly and churning out the best Chinese ever. But of course when you are popular you can get busy and last night they were under the...pump in the kitchen and a bit late. But Billy being the amazing manager that he is, not only chased up our order, and had it hastened but also offered us drinks and took $20 off the price to say sorry. You can’t fault this kind of service! It’s no wonder they have been around for decades and continue to jam them in every night!More

The great thing about the Pine and Bamboo Restaurant is their focus on consistency Their Peking Duck specialty is the best that you will ever experience anywhere (sadly we have tried a few too many that cut corners). The Peking duck has a superb sauce...to compliment the large ducks and when sliced well there are exactly 21 rectangular slices of crispy skin for the first cause. Similarly the fish pancakes do not stick together (like other restaurants) and are a delight to taste. We cannot fault their PKD but they also have generous servings of other unique Chinese dishes. We highly recommend that you visit their Cannon Hill restaurant and ask for Billy (the owner who keeps a firm control on the quality of dishes). YUMMY alwaysMore

First time here with friends who have dined here regularly over the years. Great selection of dishes. We ordered a variety that all came out piping hot at the same time. Staff were very attentive. Thoroughly enjoyed the food. We had a party of 6...and were accommodated at a big round table.More

We visited as a family of 11 for Father's day. The food was lovely, tasty and fresh and the staff very attentive and friendly. If there could be 1 criticism the service was a little slow, but we accepted that because the restaurant was fully...booked for the celebratory day. I personally dont like seeing the tanks of live lobters, crabs and fish awaiting their fate. I think these tanks should be behind a screen as I'm sure there must be other diners who too would not feel good about seeing the 'victim' selected and taken off to the kitchen. But... that is a personal view. We woul be happy to eat here again, but perhaps when its not so busy.More

Popular Chinese restaurant but food was bland. Reasonably priced for the food. Licensed only which makes the total price more expensive. Might go back but won't rush back.

We chose this welcoming restaurant for our family lunch on Mother’s Day and it was top notch. We started with the Peking Duck, expertly carved by Billy. Next we made a wide selection of family favourites including spring rolls, steamed dims sims and chicken and...cashews. Wonton soup was also very tasty. As usual the service was brisk and friendly, even though the restaurant was fully booked with celebratory family groups.More
