Our visit to La Vue came with high expectations based on previous reviews. We weren't disappointed, but rather impressed! Our meals were great, the view of the story bridge lit up was great, the service was great - attentive but not overbearing. The restaurant was about 75% full. The pork belly entree and the eye fillet were definite highlights. We asked to share the pork belly - they plated it separately for both of us. Little details like this meant a lot to us. At the end of the night, we noticed one of our drinks weren't charged to the bill. They said it was "on the house". If we're in Brisbane again, we will definitely go back!

We ordered scallops and foie gras and they were cooked to perfect. For the mains, the lamb, eye fillet, pork and tiger prawns were very nice, especially the sauce of prawns was amazing. We ordered 2 deserts to share and we were served with 4 separate plates. We all enjoyed the food and service very much with beautiful views of Story Bridge that night. We highly recommend and for sure we will come back!

My husband and I celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary in Brisbane, and chose La Vue for dinner. This is an elegant, traditional fine dining restaurant, and a hidden gem. Everything was superb, from the service to the food and the stunning views of the river and Story Bridge. Prices are typically on the higher end for this standard of dining, and the food is French. The lobster bisque was the soup du jour; the ocean trout and tiger prawns delicious. The restaurant beautifully acknowledged our anniversary with a personalised dessert including sparklers. A special mention to our gorgeous French waitress. For something special, La Vue was a delightful choice to enjoy our celebration. If you appreciate fine dining and exceptionally prepared food, you won't be disappointed. Highly recommended.

We had arranged to meet up with my wife’s cousin and his family while in Brisbane and he booked us into La Vue for an evening meal. The restaurant was very quiet with few other diners and a large number of empty tables. Although we were seated at a nice window table the atmosphere was austere and cold. The service and attention from the staff was fine with our wide variety of orders taken and drinks order served. I had the eye fillet and it was fine without being in any way outstanding, our party also had the lamb, pork belly, veal, scallops, chicken, trout and duck risotto, so we sampled a wide variety of options. The food was OK, nobody complained or felt disappointed but equally none of us were overwhelmed by what was presented and the restaurant clearly has pretensions to fine dining. The result is that the restaurant is fine for a meal, on a busy night it may be even better but it is not a location I will return to.

We booked for a leisurely Sunday lunch and were blown away at how much we enjoyed our day. Lovely, down to Earth service, friendly, professional and discreet. The food was typical French - exquisite, not confused, perfect portions. The flavors were spot on and my favorite was the bisque and Confit duck. Highly recommended for old school great service and impeccable meals. If you want confused Australian food then you may not be happy.

went here before all this covid kicked off, the food here was AMAZING i thought it would be small portions as a lot of these al a carte restaurants are like, but this one is the opposite beautiful high end food and good size portions, from start to finish the meal was perfect the staff were great too, you could they were well trained and it was a well run restaurant. yes the place is a little expensive but for the quality, friendly staff and beautiful vue its well worth every penny. i will 100% return. my only negative and its a small one...... i would like to see more side orders on the menu

We were greeted by friendly staff and had a great table with clear views to the river and Story Bridge, the waitress ensured we all had water of our choice and then we enjoyed wines during the meals. Entrees were great Scallops and lobster soup and prawns enjoyed by the four diners. Main meals were superb, again a varied selection of meats seafood steaks etc. Deserts followed and again superb. The staff were so attentive and prompt with setting up between courses. All in all a great evening and the fond farewell from the owner and staff made this a great experience 10 out of 10 from us.

Great food, excellent service, stunning views. This restaurant is definitely “fine dining” albeit somewhat expensive. The meal for 4 with wine came to $440.00 which was plenty but you do get what you pay for. The foie grass was sublime, the veal noisette superb and the deserts were very indulgent.

La Vue Waterfront Restaurant is a long established French restaurant with a view of the Story Bridge over the Brisbane River. The atmosphere is somewhat sophisticated, the food is authentic and delicious, and all the staff we had contact with were exceptionally nice and very helpful. The staff we saw were also all French. We'll definitely be back dining at La Vue each time we visit Brisbane.

Fabulous restaurant waterside of the Brisbane River. Could not have asked for better food. The quail entree was absolutely delicious and was almost meal size. Service and quality of the food highly recommended

Atmosphere and service was great. Table by the window overlooking the river and consistently good attention from our waiter. My confit duck leg was close to inedible. Overcooked and dry to the point of being crunchy and super salty. The chef had added some medallions of veal (I think it was veal) which was odd as it wasn't on the menu. I suspect it was a bonus as the duck was so terrible .....why was it on the menu? My partner found the lamb very ordinary as well and the herb bread was seriously ordinary. We ate and did not complain as we were with friends

I almost cannot fault this restaurant. Firstly you think you can't top the view which looks out onto the river add the bridge lit up at night is beautiful. But then you get amazing service which again is topped by the stunning food. The pork belly was melt in you mouth. The seafood avocado was delicious and the King prawn thermidore amazing. Just when you think it cant get any better bring on the house made profitetoles. Great wine list too. My only complaint is they do not cater very well to those that don't drink alcohol (no diet soft drinks either) but the water was delicious. 10 stars would be my rating but this APP only allows 5.

Really enjoy the experience, nice old fashioned service and value. A restaurant of this calibre where you get the veggies with the meal and not as an expensive side is rare these days. Took my mum there for a special birthday and the service was attentive , the portions were generous and the food was delicious. The most lovely touch was the table had a happy birthday card and the dessert came with a sparkler and chocolate engraved happy birthday Made the birthday person feel very special and me happy that I’d made a great choice to spoil someone. The location is also wonderful , right on the river but tucked away from the hubbub of the more trendy busy spaces. Highly recommend if you are looking for a river view, great service, value for money, tasty food in the traditional French style and a city experience.

Hi there, firstly the floor staff were exceptional. The owner? guy with black hair was sort of loitering around us and making weird comments. I booked the restaurant weeks in advance for our two sons 21st & 18th birthday which both fell in the height of the COVID-19 Pandemic. I sent 2 emails requesting a table with a special view for our family celebration. We were seated near the bar and kitchen where we could hear the owner? shouting a few times at the chefs. The food was fabulous, however we felt very rushed as we had just put our cutlery down from the entrée and the mains arrived. It was to be a special occasion with our 2 sons for their birthdays. It was a very strange/weird experience. As a family we have been to France/Paris a few times. I feel the Parisians would not be amused. We won't be returning nor will we recommend. Such a shame, we were so looking forward to our special family night. This happened about a month ago, and I wasn't sure whether to leave a review, but here it is.

In Brisbane CBD for a few nights on getaway. Wanted a nice restaurant 'with a view' for dinner and discovered La Vue via the net. Location was perfect with excellent view of the river and story bridge on a miserably wet Brisbane night. We had 3 courses and various choices across the menu with all food being of excellent quality. Staff were very attentive, atmosphere was warm and inviting and our dinning experience could not have been better. Thanks La Vue for the great night.
