Booked high tea for my daughter's special birthday. We love high tea and I would rate this as one of the best we have had. The setting was perfect near the river (albeit a bit cool even with the propane heaters) but the food was creative and tasty! Beautifully presented. They accommodated her being a vegetarian. Service was very good. $ 75 for one person is reasonable for champagne high tea and I would absolutely recommend! Book and pay in advance.

My husband and I ate here as soon as the restrictions were lifted in Brisbane so this was back when places could only have set dining times and 10 people at once. We went for the "Patina's Favourites Menu" and I have to say that the quality of the food was sensational.
My hat goes off to the chef and their team fro producing such a fine qualtity of food for only 10 people.
From the shared entrees that mad for a stunning start, to the perfectly cooked main and brilliant desserts, at a set price $90 for 3 courses the value was there.
The wait staff were friendly and with an impressive wine list and delightful cocktails it's easy to dine the night away.

Patina is situated beneath the beautiful heritage listed venue of Customs House with stunning views to the river and the lit-up Story Bridge. Add a full moon and a balmy summer evening and the ambience is magical. We were two couples sitting outside for a special anniversary occasion and this venue far exceeded our expectations. It has real WOW in every way!
The cuisine is modern, contemporary and the food is sourced locally and regionally. I believe they even grow their own mushrooms in the cellar. As well as being delicious, I admired the artistic presentation of the food: colours all brilliantly placed. The chef is a food artist. I had the Eye Fillet with Jus with Portabello mushrooms, spinach puree and potato(can't remember the name but delicious) and a side of broccolini. The other meals looked just as mouth-wateringly stunning.
The staff (with a French background and Manager) were also brilliant: attentive, friendly and helpful and went that extra by providing some strawberries and chocolate with Happy writing in chocolate for our special occasion. We felt so special thanks to them and so enjoyed our evening in every way.
We'll be back for other special occasions: brunch, High Tea...I can't wait. and can't recommend it highly enough.

Visited on Saturday night for a group booking was terribly disappointed . Service was poor . Quality of the food served was shocking tasteless . No vegetables served with meat dishes.
Overall experience was shocking would not return with so many superior restaurants surrounding the Pateena. The owner of this business needs to do some sampling of the food that is served.
Went to a nearby restaurant on the Sunday night and found the total opposite great service and excellent food.

This was my first visit for one of the special two
course luncheons at Customs House. It was a hot day but sitting outside with water views ensured we had river breezes. Service was excellent with the wait staff doing their best to manage our requests for food allergies and dislikes. My colleague chose quail followed by pressed pork. I ordered octopus followed by barramundi. We also enjoyed a serve of broccolini. Food was presented well, delicious and appropriately priced at $40 for 2 courses. We finished with very delicious strong and tasty coffee. We look forward to trying this special course menu at a later date.

What should you expect from a restaurant that is rated 4.9, charge $5 per oyster, and $48 for a tinny piece of barramundi?
Do you expect to be asked to leave the restaurant after an hour and twenty minutes and when you have just spent $87 for one person? Should you have not been given an indication they needed the table back when you booked or at any time during the meal – no indication was given!
You may ask why was the table next to mine not asked to leave when they had been longer – was it because I was Asian, was it because I was on my own as my niece could not make lunch?
I am sure the owners of Patina would agree non of the above would be acceptable reason to ask a customer to leave when they were not ready to leave? I am sure Brisbane customer have high standards and this is not an acceptable standard of customer service.
To the poor waitress who had to ask me to leave, it’s not your fault I know it was your manager who forced you to ask me. Your manager in fact indicated to me after I called and gave her this feedback that she felt I should leave because I was not having a dessert.
To the owners of Patina I hope this feedback is helpful. Your management need to reminded no matter who your customers are, the service should be delivered exceptionally and consistently each time.

1. Seating: I had booked an out door table and asked to be seated near heat lamps if it’s cold. The maître d’, seated us inside and said Patina didn’t have heat lamps outside, which was clearly not the case. We were not impressed with the inside and took away from our enjoyment. We were clearly put inside due to prioritising other diners.
2. Wine: I asked for 2 bottles of fine wine to be decanted 30 minutes prior to drinking. The waiter came later and offered to decant them at the time of drinking - he clearly didn’t understand wine and why this was important and disregarded my initial request.
3. Food: Our steaks came back overcooked and I’m sure at least 3 of us ordered medium rare but these were cooked medium to well done. My steak and another were dry and over cooked and not enjoyable.
I won’t be coming back again.

First day back of in house dining in Brisbane, after weeks of restrictions. It was also our wedding annaiversary. We booked Patina, and we were not disappointed.
Set menue, with only 8 other diners permitted, but it was lovely. The shared plates were delicious, especia;lly the scallops and the quail. The vanilla cauliflower , with humous and pomegranate starter was a standout.
Mains were exceptional. The barramundi on a fermented chilli sauce with wood ear mushrooms and smoked tofu was exciting and spicy. The duck breast with preserved apricot and mustard greens also very good.
The desserts were fabulous, featuring mounds of fresh berries and a delightful rasberry sorbet all on a crunchy rasberry chocalate tart, or just mounds of berries and that amazing rasberry sorbet. Spectacular.
Diana and Ben and team did a great job to make us feel relaxed and comfortable , even given the current circumstances. We really enjoyed ourselves. Good to be back.
Of course, there was a limit of ten people per sitting- so back to normal- almost.

We were there for a sunny Sunday lunch in August and this restaurant enjoys a superb location in an historical building overlooking the Brisbane River. There is definitely some French influence in it, with in particular a baguette which was definitely the "real thing". Such a treat after so many disappointments with French bakeries all around Brisbane. I took the barramundi with asparagus and it was delicious, perfectly cooked and presented. Having a sweet tooth I later indulge myself with a creme brulee which was also a cream feast with real vanilla in it.
With an excellent service all along our lunch, it is the best restaurant we have visited so far in Brisbane.

This was a really enjoyable return to restaurant dining and represented great value. The bread and the butters to start were outstanding, I almost considered cancelling the rest of the meal. Luckily we didn't as the salt and pepper quail was superb as was the Wagyu rump cap with potato, miso leeks and mustard jus, the only niggle being there was very little jus and the two layered potato wasn't hot all the way through but it looked and tasted great. The barramundi also got a rave review, especially the smoked tofu. The creme brulee was silken and nicely presented. Interesting wine list and very attentive friendly service that stood Patina apart from many other Brisbane restaurants. We can't wait to return.

We spent over $400 on a 4 course dinner with cocktails and a bottle of wine. For that price, you'd expect nothing but top notch service, but that's not what we received. Our $100+ dollar shared steak came out before our plates did, and we had to ask where our two sides were as they did not come out with the steak. We spent $115 on a bottle of nice wine and had to walk up to the bar for our glasses to be refilled. Same with our water. The cocktails were also very ordinary for $20 each and were lacking taste and finesse. We could not fault the meal however, the food was delicious, but we will not be returning to this place again as I know that we can receive better treatment elsewhere.

View- Best view of River!
Thanks again for a wonderful dining experience. We returned to this restaurant and celebrated our anniversary at this unique and beautiful space on the 4th Jan. Highly recommended. Understated elegance with a modern twist whilst dining on the grounds of an historic and magnificent building on the beautiful Brisbane River- sheer romantic bliss!

...which one had to reserve and pay for upfront without a chance of cancelling (due to an unexpected emergency, for instance). We did enjoy the tea, incl. 2 gluten free servings, which we did reserve in advance as well. The tea selection (at least the one that was offered to us verbally) was a bit disappointing, with only 3 flavors to chose from.

Beautiful location on banks of the river with choice to eat inside or out. We had the gnocchi and quail both of which were delicious. A side of broccolini topped off a great meal. Our staff were exceptional - I’m beginning to think that everyone in Brisbane is trained in excellent hospo skills ( with the exception of three blue ducks waiter who was the opposite) these women at Patina were brilliant.

Great experience with food and service. The quail was the dish of the day for us. Succulent, well seasoned and beautifully charred skin. Price is reasonable, less than $300 for very satisfactory gourmet food and a bottle of decent red wine.
Initially we were seating at the verandah with a beautiful lit Brisbane bridge, but it was a bit windy and cool, so we moved inside. It would be perfect during day times or Summer.
