Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

They don’t have a proper tandoor so you get no tandoor flavour. Curries are average. Overall an average experience. The waitress was coughing hard with no mask and was not even covering her face. Not a good idea as COVID still exists. And that too...in a restaurant.More

Most reviews seemed to like this restaurant so we thought wed give it a try. But, the food was disappointing, staff were helpful but made a couple of mistakes with our order even though the orders were read back to us. There were 3 of...us. We wanted to order an entree of vegetable samosa which came as 2 per serve ($14) so the waitress kindly suggested that she could do 3 pieces for us. When the order arrived we got 4 and were charged for 4. The samosas were rock hard. We also ordered Tandoori Chicken which as passable. For Mains we ordered Fish Molly (Barramundi) Medium and Goat Curry plus Chicken Saagwala (mild). All dishes were very average. The Goat was served Medium instead of Mild. The Chicken dish was tastless. Oh, but the Wine was excellent. The restaurant was very busy with takeaway so they must be doing something rightMore

From the UK and In Brisbane for 2 days and fancied a curry and found this ABSOLUTE GEM! Pappadums, riata, chutney = luvly Onion Bahji and Meat Samosas = excellent Chicken pasanda, Chicken Tikka Marsala, rice, coconut rice and Garlic Naan = exceptional. Partners says...the chicken tikka Masala was the best curry he has had (although we know tikka masala isn’t Indian!) Wine - Craggy Range SB - perfect Service from the girls and owner - 5 star hospitality. Only complaint is that we can’t come back …. THANK YOU 🇬🇧More

Stayed at Alcyone Apartments and decided to have dinner here. The service was prompt and friendly and the food was delicious. I asked for a chicken dish that had lemon in it and it was really tasty with a hint of coriander. We also very...much enjoyed butter chicken and garlic and cheese naan with a side of mango chutney and cucumber yoghurt raita. Great food and service.More

Lovely food, lovely staff. They were busy and a bit short staffed and still managed to be very attentive. Chicken pasanda was amazing!

Enjoyable night out dining here! Food was packed with flavour, and spices. We had the Goat Curry and the Chicken Dhansak (curry cooked with lentils and pineapple chunks), the Indian Salad and the Roti and Garlic Naan. And also ordered a Peshawari Naan (stuffed with...raisins and nuts). We couldn’t fault the quality and taste of everything we ordered. Top that with the attentive and friendly service, and you have the makings of a very enjoyable dining out experience. Looking at the reviews, the positive far outweigh the negative … and there is a good reason for that. Aamaya Indian Restaurant is one of Brisbane’s best, because they are!More

I’ve reviewed Aamaya before and think a place this consistently good warrants another. It’s a local for me and I usually eat in or get takeaway once a week. The delicious aromas, comfortable seating, lovely staff and great food tick all the boxes for me....Aamaya is a great place to take friends too - it always impresses.More

Aamaya is a fabulous authentic Indian restaurant at Portside. It’s a local for us and we go here often. The staff are always welcoming, the food is consistently delicious, the tables and seating are comfortable and the ambiance is relaxed and friendly. We went to...Aamaya for recent birthday celebrations with a large group of friends (18 altogether) . Everyone loved it and raved about the food and the staff. You know you are in for a treat as your arrive to the enticing smell of Indian spices. A terrific restaurant.More

goat curry and lamb are the best awesome, it has bones so that tells you the chef is extracting maximum flavour.

Well done Aamaya! Beautiful goat curry and lamb Rogan josh served last night. I love my goat curry and have to say this was one of the best. Yes it has bones so that tells you the chef is extracting maximum flavour. The mix of...spices complemented the goat beautifully -well done guys. Front of staff were smiling happy people which added to our special experience. Topped off with a nice bottle of Craggy Range Sav Blanc. Just a wonderful experience thank you.More

A great find near the waterside in Brisbane. Very clean and comfortable setting and although expensive it was good food. The peshwari naan was excellent and the best for many a year. The jalfrezi hot and tasty but a shame it was not the best...chicken. Poppadoms could be bigger and the chutney servings small for the money paid. Service wad good early but as it got busy it faded and we were left with dishes on the table and not taken and no service or questioning if we wanted deserts.More

In entree ordered onion pakora. Funny part, there were no onions in there. Just a chunk of chickpea flour. Seemed like was frozen and just heated in microwave. I bet you order any bhaji, you get this one. Ordered paneer tikka masala and chicken meethi...with naan rice salad The paneer dish was actually not tikka Masala, it was either paneer butter masala or shahi paneer. Deception 😂 Anyways didn’t taste bad though. Chicken dish wasn’t good. Salad seemed to be chopped by an ignorant person using knife for the first time. Lol too big chunks. Overall highly rated and too expensive Seems like they have only a set number of dishes and you get only these irrespective of what you order.More

Managed a grab the last table for two on a Saturday night. The greeting, seating and service were all exceptional. Entrees were tasty and as ordered. The madras lamb ordered 'medium' was a little tasteless. Rice superb. Maybe the ambience could improve but otherwise one...to return to.More
