Just before Christmas, hubby and I caught up with an old friend for lunch. We sat in the leafy courtyard, (dogs allowed – some a bit yippy) and perused the menu. Our lady friend chose Milo pancakes with fruit and vanilla ice cream. These looked...delicious, and she loved them. They were sprinkled with Milo crunch, and sat in a lovely puddle of berry coulis and salted Milo ganache. Hubby went for the jackpot – Oh My Goodness – a plate full of eggs, chorizo, mushrooms, tomatoes, halloumi, bacon and sourdough. Phew! And I chose Green Jam and Scram – a croissant with scrambled eggs, smoked salmon, green chilli jam, tomatoes and tzatziki. I didn’t get round to eating much of the croissant, (I’m not much of a bread person) as there was heaps to eat on my plate. I enjoyed the softly scrambled eggs, and the tender smoked salmon. I did find the chilli jam a bit sweet for my tastes but that’s a personal preference. We drank coffee (her), strawberry thick shake (him) and a Blood Bank (me.) My drink was an earthy little number with beetroot, cucumber, apple and ginger. You could feel it doing you good as it went down. We all enjoyed our happy little pre-Christmas get-together, and would have loved to sit a bit longer but (Christmas) duty called.More
We have been here a few times over the past few years and it was spotless. Grass was always mowed and the owners parents were always making sure there was no leaves etc outside. I have heard that there are new owners and that would...make sense as the grass is often overgrown and the outside looks untidy. A real shame. The food was ok. I took away a piece of cake and it tasted stale. Unlikely we would be back as there are much nicer options around Graceville. Please put a bit more love back into the cleanliness of the outside.More
I went here for lunch yesterday with a friend. It was terribly disappointing. The food was pretty awful: I ordered mushrooms and they were rubbery and tasteless. Coffee okay, same as most places really. This cafe is really overrated - That it is so popular...says something about its location and the general lack of decent cafes in the western suburbs too I think.
The lunch menu was also terribly limited. Due to coronavirus restrictions we could only stay for an hour and this was rigorously enforced (we got reminders about how much time was left). I understand this but it could have been done more pleasantly.
Service was okay but not great. Young staff with not a lot of experience.
Based on yesterday’s experience I won’t be returning in a hurry. Have already made plans to go elsewhere next week when I am catching up with someone else.More
We were looking for somewhere to have a light lunch and came across these guys. Kitchen was closed but the people were friendly and welcoming. Coffee and light snacks were really delicious. This was such a nice indoor space.
The food there was very basic for a brunch place and the price it charged. We ordered 4 dishes and the only meal we could eat was the brioche breakfast burger. The rest was dry and boring. Not much taste and was minimal.
Goodness Gracious has been our favourite cafe for about 3 years. I have to say though we dined on Saturday morning for breakfast 2 weeks ago. There was a shortage of staff and seemed quite disorganised and waited a while for service which is quite...unusual. One of the staff obviously was learning but was not friendly at all. The menu at the moment we didn't find all that interesting as it has been in the past. We were disappointed with the avocado on sourdough (avocado was not ripe). I had lobster on scrambled eggs and it was nice but wouldn't order again. My cold drip I ordered and requested with milk arrived without milk and had to request it again. We were waiting at the counter to pay but no one acknowledged us. Will wait till menu changes. We left cafe disappointed which is most unusual.More
