Excellent service from everyone at Blackbird. From greeting us, to our table waiters and the bar attendants, all faultless. We had a booking for midday in the restaurant but in the beautiful Spring weather we were enjoying having a drink outside near the bar too much.. We were told to take our time out there and not rush to our table until we wanted to. Excellent service. We ordered 2 dozen oysters ($60 dozen) and the seafood platter for 3 to 4 people $83 (photo included). One person could definitely polish off the 3 to 4 person platter just saying.
Can't wait to go back to Blackbird for a special occasion.. Totally worth it.

First of all, many thanks to the young Englishman from York who did a stellar job at looking after us. His efficiency and genuine interest was refreshing. His service helped make the night but so did the fact that we had a nice table in the window looking directly at Story Bridge. We requested that when we booked and understood there was no guarantee but it’s nice when things work out when you are visiting another city and wanting to enjoy it through the various dining experiences. We tried to dine there on our first night but it was fully booked so we got a booking two nights later.
The food is nothing earth shattering cuisine-wise but it’s a nice place to enjoy a steak and the lovely Brisbane River view. The two different steaks we both had were cooked exactly to order.
I chuckle now that we were asked did we really want just one serve of fries to share .... as the bowl is enormous. There were enough fries for three people in fact!!!!
Only one point to make on the service: we had our wine list open right on the table’s edge when our steaks were delivered, ready to order our reds, and both the young wait staff were so oblivious they both just banged the two plates down and zipped away from the table so hurriedly before we could begin to open our mouths to ask for our wine. Presumably it was a ‘not their job’ moment, which is always irritating. So then we had to wait and go searching for our attentive Yorkshireman!!! That was the only moment that brought down the flow and quality of dining at Blackbird.

A nice place to be, the canapés we’re nice and went down well although the rest of the food was a slightly odd combination.
Still a pleasant evening.
Live music was great and Jamie can sing wow she is a little rocket although the volume was a tad over bearing.
The venue was styled nicely I would probably like to see it more in the day as again this appeared to be slightly jumbled up in places so didn’t have flow.
The servers were great at bringing out the food and kept us well supplied with canapés they did an amazing job.
The chicken paste canapé was a delight please don’t change that one( it’s that scenario if it’s not broken don’t try and fix it as normally restaurants take away the best thing.
We filled up on these for sure.
The champagne was good although drinks overall I felt were disappointing as when we asked the bar it was very limited to what they had for that evening.
The water bottles were a great idea as it was getting hot in there.
Only thing I would say that was a little worrying is when the balcony opened so many people were on it so was a little worrying about numbers,I thought it needed looking at for restrictions on it for the safety aspect( just a thought as you here of these stories)
All turned out great in the end though.
For us it’s a 8/10 it’s was nice although something was a miss and I couldn’t quite put my finger on it.
People were a mixture in there from hip to a tad making the environment feel uncomfortable kind of sorts, as a lot were boisterous and using foul language at the start but again I feel it was just the evening and them being hyped up.
Sadly it then came across as a cheaper venue at the price it was it shouldn’t of felt that way but again I put that down to possibly crowds being louder.
The place need’s possibly a visit in the day to see if it delivers.
The views were great and that’s why people go there.
The decor was nice and it was very clean in the main area and ladies toilets also.
The servers were very friendly they were the best part, so a 10/10 for them they had personality and that was great.

Having dined at Blackbird previously i was excited to take my meat loving partner who had not been before. However we were left disappointed when both of our steaks arrived and were overcooked and dry. The waiter offered new steaks be cooked for us but as it was already late, we didnt bother and just enjoyed the tasty sides instead. As compensation our drinks were taken off the bill.

My only remaining family had arranged our 50th Wedding anniversary dinner at this restaurant during our 8 week visit from the UK over Christmas and the New Year. our Anniversary falling on the 3rd of January. We dined on the 4th. I felt a little sorry for those paying the bill. It was expensive even allowing for the location for what was served up. My steak was cooked to less than perfection and not as I had actually ordered it, the hot English Mustard was forgotten--- twice, the restuarant was overly hot and very loud with only very average service. I was not paying the bill fortunately otherwaise these issues would have been raised at the time with the management. This restaurant is not high on our list to revisit when we make another visit to the area.

We celebrated my wife's birthday at this great venue. We had a party of 10 and went for the banquet , this was amazing and all guests loved the food ,
A special thanks to Tess for her ongoing support , from getting our guests the best seats and view of the bridge , to food selection and organisation . This place is a must if your looking for great food and views of storey bridge ,

This was our first visit to Blackbird and the food was good but there is some room for improvement. I had the buttered prawns to start. The gnocchi was delicious, the emulsion full of flavour and the portion size was generous but prawns were slightly over cooked. Main was the black angus tenderloin which was again slightly over cooked. Service was good, wait staff were attentive without being overbearing. All in all, pretty good first impressions.

Underwhelming! Food was tasty, credit to the chefs. Unfortunately the service was worse than a leagues club, definitely NOT worth the money. Had to wait, and wait and wait for drinks service. They could’ve made twice the money out of us IF the service was attentive and didn’t have to wait 30 minutes between drinks. And to clear the table with an RSL bistro stack was embarrassing.
I won’t be back.

Husband and I came here for our first anniversary and we were not disappointed. I was apprehensive given I'm a vegetarian and there was only 1 main option, however the pumpkin, date and kale kebbi surpassed my expectations in taste. I requested a table close to the river view and they managed to provide this which was perfect. The service was also on point! We're teetotallers and requested 2 mocktails and they whipped up 2 drinks to suit our tastes too. Thank you Blackbird for giving us a memorable afternoon!

Sounds dramatic, except I am not. I have been all over the world and never have I had 2 entrees cancelled due to being so busy and then when entrees were delivered they were cold. So the the manager came and apologised which is great, as then came mains and they were cold and so many words of discounts and so on but were charged full price. Sorry to say the head chef is in charge and never again will I go to this restaurant ever what a debacle. And on top we got charged full price despite being told we would get a discount. Chef is in charge and needs to take responsibility.

Went there with my wife and daughter and enjoyed the experience. Nice ambience, excellent service and great food. We had the seafood platter to share as an appetiser and whilst not particularly large, the various taste sensation more than made up for the modest helping. My daughter and I had the 1000 Guinea’s sirloin and both enjoyed very much. Unfortunately my wife’s Tenderloin was over cooked and therefore tough - waiter was happy to replace but declined. Wine recommendation from waiter proved to be a good selection as were the special fries and leafy greens. All in all a great experience.

I had my anniversary dinner here a week and a bit ago. The view was amazing, we got sat next to the window overall looking the bridge, the food was amazing although pricing was high we understood what we were paying for which we didn’t mind at all. The atmosphere was great I just wish our waiter was more attentive. He didn’t really spoke to us from the get go, we kind of had to flag him down every time we needed something which was kind of upsetting because we understood what we were paying for and the service was nowhere as good as I would’ve expected. If anything his service turned what could’ve been a 5 star experience to a place we probably wouldn’t return considering if we went somewhere else the waiter would’ve atleast spoken to us.
Actually the pass lady who was running our food spoke to us more than our actual waiter.
Besides that food was amazing and atmosphere was to die for.

Strolling down the river in Brisbane this place came up as within 50 meters on trip advisor. After working out how to get in I had the feeling I was entering a strip club, dingy lighting, red velour furniture and birds painted on the walls. Once I climbed the stairwell the feeling of strip joint didn’t fade. However instead of being greeted by Sparkles and Ebony, I was met by a very lovely front of house employee who took me to my seat.
This place is a steak house but with excellent sides, starters and and fish dishes not necessarily all meat. I went with a 300g fillet steak and a side of barley and burnt cauliflower salad. To wash it down an ameretto sour and Pinot. Wine is pricey cocktails surprisingly not. I enjoyed it all especially the trio of mustards - the truffle stood out.
The only downside and if I could I’d give 4.5 / 5 for it I would...most annoying chairs over ever sat in. No idea where to put my arms. That being said probably a lot less stained than those in a strip club.

It’s a Thursday night.
Took 1 hr for kids chicken schnitzel and chips and almost 2 hours for steaks.
Staff are nice enough, but for the price, the wait time is hopeless.
People who can afford to eat here can afford it but are often time-poor.
Save your time - go to Walters or fat cow or other restaurants instead.

Blackbird Bar & Grill is fantastic all in one venue, pre - dinner Cocktail list is extensive, with great views over the Story Bridge lit up in its finery, on the Brisbane river.
Whilst we were in the Champagne Room in a private party, the service was imoeccable and could not be faulted, not one forgotten dish or even misplaced in front of anyone else, the professionalism of our waiter shone through, along with the food, there were no complaints from anyone in our group. .
The steaks were cooked to our liking, the Kingfish entree, along with the quail and Celeriac- that too was superb, and we all loved the deserts.
As a lover of duck.... My mouth salivated of the thought of seeing those curing ducks in the cabinet, each time I walked to the bathroom, along with the aging steaks. I will have to.return to try that dish on the menu.
Then there was the bathroom beauty to admire in all her fine intricate mosaics A stunning piece of Artwork.
Then you get to adjourn back to the bar for after dinner dancing and partying- a Superb Venue.
