Had a drink at blackbird on 18/12/20. Given soda water rather than tonic in five g&t’s.Management refused to redo the order. Usually a good place for a drink but this was ordinary form.

The professionalism and level of customer service from the events team in organising the event was outstanding and the guys on the day were super attentive and could not have been more helpful in assisting me with set up of the race day game. Excellent food and service for grilled meat, fresh shellfish and two vegetarian dishes on menu. Shellfish wasn’t the freshest as it tasted as though it might have been frozen - very wet and fairly tasteless prawns, bug and scallops. Oysters were excellent. Mackerel entree dish...was superb. Setting is dark and with no outlook but kept entertained by watching chefs cooking meat and preparing food.More

Excellent service from everyone at Blackbird. From greeting us, to our table waiters and the bar attendants, all faultless. We had a booking for midday in the restaurant but in the beautiful Spring weather we were enjoying having a drink outside near the bar too...much.. We were told to take our time out there and not rush to our table until we wanted to. Excellent service. We ordered 2 dozen oysters ($60 dozen) and the seafood platter for 3 to 4 people $83 (photo included). One person could definitely polish off the 3 to 4 person platter just saying. Can't wait to go back to Blackbird for a special occasion.. Totally worth it.More

I've been to Blackbird about a month ago and it was great, but Last night was a disaster !!! First, although the waiter told us not to have our meat very rare(?), we INSISTED on having our steacks very rare and they were served 52...minutes later overcooked and we had to wait another 10 minutes for our sides !!! I don't think that is right to wait that long for a $100 steack in a restaurant with 6 waiters and only half of the tables occupied !!! Very disapointed, I don't think I'll dine ther again !!!More

This was our first visit to Blackbird and the food was good but there is some room for improvement. I had the buttered prawns to start. The gnocchi was delicious, the emulsion full of flavour and the portion size was generous but prawns were slightly...over cooked. Main was the black angus tenderloin which was again slightly over cooked. Service was good, wait staff were attentive without being overbearing. All in all, pretty good first impressions.More
