We will be back for the lamb shoulder - the best I’ve ever tasted! Excellent service and an amazing view.

First of all, many thanks to the young Englishman from York who did a stellar job at looking after us. His efficiency and genuine interest was refreshing. His service helped make the night but so did the fact that we had a nice table in...the window looking directly at Story Bridge. We requested that when we booked and understood there was no guarantee but it’s nice when things work out when you are visiting another city and wanting to enjoy it through the various dining experiences. We tried to dine there on our first night but it was fully booked so we got a booking two nights later. The food is nothing earth shattering cuisine-wise but it’s a nice place to enjoy a steak and the lovely Brisbane River view. The two different steaks we both had were cooked exactly to order. I chuckle now that we were asked did we really want just one serve of fries to share .... as the bowl is enormous. There were enough fries for three people in fact!!!! Only one point to make on the service: we had our wine list open right on the table’s edge when our steaks were delivered, ready to order our reds, and both the young wait staff were so oblivious they both just banged the two plates down and zipped away from the table so hurriedly before we could begin to open our mouths to ask for our wine. Presumably it was a ‘not their job’ moment, which is always irritating. So then we had to wait and go searching for our attentive Yorkshireman!!! That was the only moment that brought down the flow and quality of dining at Blackbird.More

Blackbird doesn’t quite live up to the hype. A great spot with fabulous decor which is let down by staff that aren’t all that happy to be there or interested in providing any level of friendly service. A bit of a shame really as it’s...in a top spot and is a really nice space.More

Had a drink at blackbird on 18/12/20. Given soda water rather than tonic in five g&t’s.Management refused to redo the order. Usually a good place for a drink but this was ordinary form.

The professionalism and level of customer service from the events team in organising the event was outstanding and the guys on the day were super attentive and could not have been more helpful in assisting me with set up of the race day game. Huge...thanks to you all for making this year's end of year celebration a memorable one!More

Excellent food and service for grilled meat, fresh shellfish and two vegetarian dishes on menu. Shellfish wasn’t the freshest as it tasted as though it might have been frozen - very wet and fairly tasteless prawns, bug and scallops. Oysters were excellent. Mackerel entree dish...was superb. Setting is dark and with no outlook but kept entertained by watching chefs cooking meat and preparing food.More

Excellent service from everyone at Blackbird. From greeting us, to our table waiters and the bar attendants, all faultless. We had a booking for midday in the restaurant but in the beautiful Spring weather we were enjoying having a drink outside near the bar too...much.. We were told to take our time out there and not rush to our table until we wanted to. Excellent service. We ordered 2 dozen oysters ($60 dozen) and the seafood platter for 3 to 4 people $83 (photo included). One person could definitely polish off the 3 to 4 person platter just saying. Can't wait to go back to Blackbird for a special occasion.. Totally worth it.More

I've been to Blackbird about a month ago and it was great, but Last night was a disaster !!! First, although the waiter told us not to have our meat very rare(?), we INSISTED on having our steacks very rare and they were served 52...minutes later overcooked and we had to wait another 10 minutes for our sides !!! I don't think that is right to wait that long for a $100 steack in a restaurant with 6 waiters and only half of the tables occupied !!! Very disapointed, I don't think I'll dine ther again !!!More

This was our first visit to Blackbird and the food was good but there is some room for improvement. I had the buttered prawns to start. The gnocchi was delicious, the emulsion full of flavour and the portion size was generous but prawns were slightly...over cooked. Main was the black angus tenderloin which was again slightly over cooked. Service was good, wait staff were attentive without being overbearing. All in all, pretty good first impressions.More

The restaurant is expensive so the food options may not suit the children. The atmosphere is very relaxed but upmarket and it would depend on the food choices. You can go online to check their menu. The accompanying bar area... More

One dollar sign means cheap - more means more expensive. Main meals are between $30 and $50 dollars - but well worth it.
