Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Vibrant and enjoyable atmosphere and reasonably priced drinks among historic area situated directly beneath Story Bridge. Great place to rest and relax during a riverside walk. Lots of local accommodation opportunities including The Point Hotel an easy 10 minutes away.

What an amazing find tucked into the back streets of Kangaroo Point right under the Storey Bridge! Lovely, friendly staff - well groomed, well presented and knowledgeable. The venue is beautifully clean and tastefully decorated. A cool oasis off a hot street! The tables are...thoughtfully prepared with solid, clean (and shiny!) cutlery plus condiments to choose. My simple poached eggs and bacon was sensational! The eggs were done to perfection - and their Main Street bacon is a dream! 4mm thick and it just melts in your mouth! And to compliment it all a great cup of coffee beautifully presented and perfectly made! Well done and keep it up! I will definitely be back!More

Bad mannered waitresses who have no concept of customer service. Never experienced such arrogance anywhere. Don't know what the food is like, left it on the table and walked out.

I have been a regular attendee to Main Street for a long period. Consistently good coffee, always a happy welcoming atmosphere. A good choice of breakfast options. A great choice if you wish a quieter corner of the story bridge in the evening. Excellent steaks...that are cooked to perfectionMore

My brother and I stumbled across Main St Bar and Eatery on Easter Sunday morning when the Story Bridge Hotel appeared to be closed; so glad we did because this place is now my regular breakfast place after an early Sunday morning run. What’s good...about it? Everything. The staff are friendly, the coffee’s wonderful, there’s a variety of seating, the ambience is pleasant, the decor busy but warm, and the prices very reasonable. There’s always chilled water on tap, flavoured with lemon and strawberries and any other seasonal fruit, so refreshing after a run. A hidden gem; so glad I found it.More

Love it here but I think over the last 12 months the meals have halved in size ! good variety though and great atmosphere they really need to look at the cost v portion sizes as the bacon and eggs is very small for a...man....two eggs and three pieces of pork belly bacon , at least add some tomato or something to fill up the plate instead of toast ! Cost $18 so a lot of cheaper places around. Fantastic coffee though.More

We were looking for a quick bite to eat on a Thursday evening & were in the area so decided to pop in to the Main St Bar of the Story Bridge Hotel. This eatery is found on the Main St side of the hotel...(hence its name) & is a smaller, less formal restaurant compared to Deerys Restaurant on the other side of Main St Bar. Quite cosy with some booths as well as high tables & chairs that can be joined together to accommodate larger groups. The menu has share plates as well as some large plates. I had the duck pancakes which were yummy! We ordered drinks & food at the bar & our meals were delivered to the table quite quickly. As we had limited time this suited us. We were all happy with our meals & I look forward to coming back soon.More

Went for breakfast today for a work function...great space! Its bright & airy with a good selection of tables & booths. Not too crowded (on a weekday at least) & very fast service. Highly recommend the Thai Style Omlette. Its such a unique blend of...flavors & quite a unique menu item. I will be back & bring the family for sure.More

I have been to Main Street eatery 8-10 times now for breakfast. Food is quite good - the service is well below average. I live 100 metres away - and every other part of the sbh is immaculate- which is why I'm writing this -...I keep hoping each time - they may have improved this section- but in kp there is literally nowhere else that does decent breaky apart from the deli - they r well aware of this The main St eatery is literally always understaffed - always. They ALWAYS have just 2 girls to take orders -and make coffees- and do transactions- no matter the volume of customers ? Supposably it's "table service" but after sitting awkwardly for 15-20 min u will go up and ask us to confirm it is table service or is it order at the bar - they will tell u its table service and they will be "with your shortly". Don't get me wrong - the food is good - coffee is good- so if you willing to wait 20-30 min patiently before your coffee or breakfast order is even taken - then it's an awesome place - otherwise run a mile. Try it - u may get luckyMore

Very very nice! The Main St Bacon with the Eggs Benedict is definitely a winner. The coffee drinker was very happy. The tea drinker too- proper tea leaves. We'll be returning.

I have young kids so when I seen that you can get breakfast from 6:30am it was a no brainer. Short stroll from where we were staying, a warm feel was sensed once entering the eatery. There were old signs on the wall, with big...timber framed mirrors and just that lovely welcome. I wish I could remember this gentlemen's name that served us, he was very friendly and was only too happy to bring out kids activity kits without asking. This made for a quiet wait for breakfast 👍 We all ordered the usual, the works plate (big breaky), eggs benedict, kids bacon and eggs and toast with hot drinks. Coffee served is Victoria I believe- very nice! The difference with this eatery is that the Main Street bacon is spec, tender with a fuller flavour was such a great surprise. Experience was a good honest feed with the bill coming to around $67. For more detail the story bridge hotel website lists the menus for the restaurant. Happy eating 😀More

Kangaroo Point hasn't got much in the way of Breakfast Cafes. But this place is a little gem that we found while walking around our hotel area. Fairly prompt service, well priced for portions. We got three meals between us and wished we had just...stuck to the two. The menu catered for different tastes, including an Asian-styled omelette with fried rice, through to the usual Eggs Benny. We both thought the coffee was good, which is hard to do as I like it strong and she likes it mild.More
