Went for dinner on Saturday night. From the minute we walked through the door we were treated like VIP. The service was first class, Yoan the manager was brilliant. He paired our wines to our meal and gave us recommendations. The food was absolutely amazing Kelly and her kitchen team cooked everything to perfection. We shared entrees and for main course we ordered a wagyu ribeye, an Angus sirloin, and the pork belly as recommended by Yoan and again shared everything because we wanted to try it all!
All in all, the best dining experience I have ever had. Highly recommend to anybody that wants the full 5* dining experience in a friendly relaxed and comfortable environment. Thanks so much everyone at blackhide.

First of all, I try to separate the service from the food I receive when I'm talking about restaurants. Even though the service plays into the atmosphere of the place, I can overlook minor flaws if chefs made an amazing dish.
Black Hide is where that rule comes into play
Although the service for such a luxury restaurant matched that of Nandos, it didn't take long for the appetisers to arrive which led me nicely into my main course dish, the Angus Steak (even have to capitalise the letters that's how nice it was) Garnished with red wine sauce, the steak was impecible. Words cant describe what my taste buds felt. A whole range of flavours from sweet to salty and back to sweet.
If you have an important date coming up, or simply want to allow yourself to spend a bit more money than usual because you deserved it, this is THE place.

Special praise must go to the Chef who went above and beyond with my husband’s meal. My husband is a big fan of any duck dish, often his go to choice if it is on the menu. Unfortunately, the duck confit on the menu came with port roasted eschalots (although I am sure that they are very nice), my husband is allergic to alcohol. As a substitute he was offered broccolini salad, which he said was a wonderful complement to the exquisitely cooked duck – very tender and moist.
We shared the Italian meatballs. It has been a long time since we have eaten a meatball as light, and tasty as these. If you are a small eater these four morsels could almost serve you as a main meal.
Then of course there was the steak. 200gram wagyu marble score 5+ eye fillet was just superb. Cooked beautifully rare as requested. Melt in the mouth meat is always a treat.
I often worry when I book an outside table that we run the risk of getting forgotten (out of sight, out of mind), not so the case at our recent lunch at Black Hide.
From the wait staff to management, who all made sure that we were well looked after.

Our Booking was for 6.30 pm. The service was one of the worst venues we have experienced in Brisbane. 3 hrs to get our mains. The service was absolutely of a poor standard. Waiting up to 20 minutes for a staff member to take a drink order. Clearly understaffed. The meals also are of a average standard. What made this experience a night to forget was the 2 hr wait for our meals, up to 30 minutes at times to place a drink order. Then for the waitress to drop used cutlery on one off our guests Shirt and pants. Oh we had to then wait for 20 minutes for a wet cloth to help clean it off. But now stained. When you spend $1800 for our table I believe the value for money was very poor to say the least.

I have been hearing rave reviews about this restaurant since arriving in Brisbane. So finally went to check it out. To be honest I wasn’t blown away it was really all but okay. Which for the price point is disappointing. We ordered the tomahawk to share but it was too fatty for me, the meat was delicious but a lot more chunks of fat then expected (this was not marbling but grissly chunks). I was also extremely disappointed to see we got 5 pieces of potato as our accompaniment, it was almost more of a garnish then a side dish.

Clearly advised staff of allium allergy and was served food I was allergic to. I picked up on the gravy they served me and asked for it to be taken away but must have still been in something I ate as after a few bites, I started to swell up and had to stop eating. Really regret not speaking up on the night. Also ordered dessert about an hour later just to try and fill me up as I was starving. Really angry that they did not take my allergies seriously. Left annoyed, hungry and sick.

I had heard great things about this restaurant. But definitely disappointed. I understand that wait staff may be affected during covid (isolation and all) but it was as if the wait staff had never served tables. It took 25 minutes after sit down for someone to ask us for drinks. Their style was under confident and amateur and slow.
I would be fine with that if I was not going to pay the prices asked for at black hide.
The bread was cold
The scallops were small, over cooked and cold
The steak was salty
The brassica was delicious.
The beer glasses had marks and lipstick stains on them.
The wine was nice.
Overall, Walters steak house is miles ahead and so is moo moos.

Rushed, rushed, rushed. Food poorly cooked - steak cut in two - yet still served rare. I loathe when restaurants cut meat in two. Don’t claim to be a steakhouse if you can’t cook a 280g steak medium-well done. No apology!
Waiter had no clue about wine, brought the wrong bottle twice. Poor form to have to give the corresponding number from the wine list!
As soon as we said no dessert, despite still having half a bottle of wine to drink, they offered the bill. We politely declined and asked them to bring it once we had finished our wine. No luck there, the bill was furnished in any case. We then noticed a couple waiting for a table, so despite being there for less than one hour, they wanted to seat another customer.
We have been regulars at Black Hide but clearly they were not on form last night and not worth the $250+ we paid.
Perhaps the manager, who was conspicuous by his absence last night, might take time to respond to this feedback but unfortunately, if last night was anything to go by, that won’t be the case.

Very disappointed to be told when we were seated, we couldn’t have the set menu I had ordered over the phone when booking well in advance. I was told by our waitress that went to check with the manager that it was for functions only. Find that odd as the man that took my booking said it would be fine and a very nice choice. Also doesn’t say that when looking at that set menu online. Would like to know who’s mistake this was……
Our menu came with a side dish of lettuce which was lovely till the last piece I took at the end of my meal, this one hadn’t been washed and ended up with a mouthful of dirt/ grit……I pointed this out to our waitress, once she had cleared the table of our main meals I was offered a replacement…….not to sure about that.
Also just found out my brother also had a small bug in his lettuce side dish…….
Got to say my experience didn’t live up to the reviews I have read about this fine dining restaurant.

The best steaks I have ever had. We had dinner at blackhide on Saturday, and from start to finish everything was perfect. We had a drink at the bar before going to a private dining room. This made our night! The service was top class. The food was on another level, we shared all of our meals ordering one wagyu, one angus and a pork belly because we couldn't make our minds up we asked for help deciding. Everything was cooked to perfection. compliments to the kitchen team! We cant praise it all enough. It will be very hard to compare any other dining experience to this one. Thank you to Yoan, Vincent, Chef Kelly and their team for giving us a royal night

Was here as part of a group that pre booked and paid. The food was all pretty good. 2 steaks were served on alternate. Thus I did not get to order specifically or how it was cooked..... They were good but not great (wagyu rump cap), though after I looked at the website and menu days later, the prices were much higher than I would have guessed My pub steak $15 cheaper the next night was better... Would go again if the company paid, but not if I paid. Service was Great, room was Great. No male

We went to Black Hide or Walter’s for our son in law’s 40th birthday dinner. Our meals were superb - from the entrees to the steaks and sides to the desserts!! However, equally as good was the service we received. The people who were in the earlier sitting would not leave so we had to wait 35 minutes to be seated. During that time, we were far from forgotten and were looked after like royalty. A good restaurant becomes a great one when you combine fine foods and wines with outstanding service.

Our January monthly steak night took us to Black Hide.
The service was good for a bunch of 30 guys descending on the place together.
The food is excellent but the price reflects that. Steaks come in various sizes with various sides. Choice of Wagyu or Angus. I'm not actually a fan of Wagyu so a nice bit of Angus eye filet went down very well.
I'm not sure if it's absolutely the best steak I've had. I think that title goes to the Master Builders Club in Wollongong closely followed by a place in Rockhampton but this would be a very close 3rd.

First day in Brisbane, seen this place on this app , looked good , booked it for daughter her boyfriend and myself
Didn’t look much from outside but ...
It was fantastic !!!
Service was welcoming and efficient .Hayden our waiter was informative and friendly
I had the bbq ribs ( the best I’ve ever had , recommended by H )Then we all had the Wagyu ribeye with various sides
Once again , possibly, no definitely the best steak I’ve had , and the sides were delicious
Highly recommend this place

The team from Gambaro’s don’t just know seafood, they also cook amazing steaks. You can order big steaks to share and lots of lovely sides. Oh and a great red to wash it all down.
