I had had Rogue Bistro on my list to dine at in Brisbane for quite a while, but hadn't got to it. When Covid-19 started, the team at Rogue mobilised so quickly to turn their dining experience into one customers could enjoy at home in isolation. Who knew fine dining food could travel so well? We absolutely adored our starters, mains, dessert and cocktails from the comfort of our own living room and can't wait to dine with you in person when all of this is over. Everything survived the car journey home - still piping hot and cooked and plated to perfection. Thank you for making our Friday night in isolation incredible!

The Refinery was a perfect venue for an enjoyable, COVID safe evening. The degustation menu provided a succession of gastronomic highlights, and we were impressed by the restaurant’s ability to cater for our various allergies (including one to lychees which was sprung on them on them with no notice due to an oversight). The staff were all highly professional and knowledgeable, and the timing of each course was impeccable. Our family group of 4 was celebrating Father’s Day, and we all agreed that the meal was one of our best ever restaurant experiences. We’ll be back (often!).

The 6-course degustation was absolutely delicious and well priced. They catered amazingly for dietary requirements (I am coeliac and pescatarian), and every course was so well balanced. The service was delightful, and the drinks menu was also great. Will be back for sure! Couldn’t fault anything.

The difficulty with exceptional food is that all too often, it knows it. As a country blessed with exquisite produce and a wide variety of cuisines to create from it, it often seems the ego of many kitchens demands they ‘up’ the Attitude to show their own contribution to what’s on your plate. But Rogue Bistro is not “many kitchens”. Somehow each course in the beautifully balanced degustation managed to be breath-taking; the flavors clean and full, the textures innovative but still rooted in the familiar. Which sounds in itself pretentious, and easily could be in a venue so beautifully lit and staged, it could have been atheist set of a Nicole Kidman miniseries. But the honesty and authenticity of the staff, the venue, and the food itself meant one is too busy being happily boggled to take anything that bit too seriously. Our party of three have been fortunate to eat and eat well all around the world over far too many years: each of us would put this meal in our GOAT list. The last 20 months have offered little to excite let alone celebrate; blessings to Rogue for being, in every sense, the exception to the rule.

Came here without any expectations as I had never heard of it before. I don't normally do fancy Asian as a rule but boy I was not disappointed. The dishes were absolutely beautiful with the standout being the Scallops. I did find that the meringue was too sweet and would've loved a larger portion of the palette cleanser for dessert instead! The ambience was lovely (possibly a tad dark) and we particularly loved the fact you could have more bread if you wanted. Definitely a must to visit!

I have dined here twice in the last 6 months and it was a senational experience on both occasions. The degustation menu is beautifully thought out, with the dishes cleverly complimenting each other. Each dish was perfectly executed. The food was matched by the service which managed to achieve the fine balance of professionalism and friendliness. It is currently my favourite reastaurant in Brisbane.

I have been to Rogue at least 7 times in the last few years and have never been disappointed. We went last night and thoroughly enjoyed every minute we were there. From the decor, dark but you can see, to the service and oh the food! Our waitress was extremely knowledgeable and described the wines (but not over the top) and the food. How do they think up some of the combinations? The cauliflower with gingerbread spices and the watermelon with sriracha amazing. The pork had proper crackling and the kale with the moist lamb was fantastic. The miso caramel chocolate tart was fabulous.
There are many restaurants in Brisbane but this is the one that I want to go back to over any others.
Thank you. You deserve 10 stars.

This is unquestionably the best dining experience I've had in many years. Rogue Bistro is producing a food experience as good as if not better than any high end restaurant in the country. The dego menu was sublime. Every dish presented perfectly, visually magnificent, flavour packed and balanced to the millisecond. Wait staff were professional and engaging, knowledgeable and willing to answer questions. The ambiance of the restaurant was also a highlight, dark and moody. Can't recommend this restaurant highly enough.

Possibly one of the best meal experiences I’ve ever had. Went here for a special Occassion and had the Pesco degustation with matching wines.
Every flavour was well thought out and each part of each dish was delicious, particularly enjoying the textures. The service was impeccable.
Standout for me was the scallop dish.
Cannot wait to go back once they’ve a new menu. Just blown away!

I took my sister to Rogue for her 21st birthday on the 7th of August. Due to COVID restrictions, you could only order the degustation menu, and you have to eat in The Refinery; this is their wedding venue next door. We weren't in love with the venue, but from the get-go the service was impeccable. Most importantly, the food was incredible!! My sister's favourite was the beef tataki, and mine was the pork belly. However, the duck was also cooked to perfection. The palate cleanser was average, but the actual desert (sticky date doughnuts) were omg. wow. so good! On that plate they also wrote happy birthday in chocolate, which was a lovely touch. We had the best gin + tonic ever (the bloom cocktail), and we were full by the end. I can't wait to visit again!

Finally thank you so much guys on a fantastic night out. As a chef of a hatted restaurant it’s hard to go out without leaving underwhelmed. I’m not trying to be a bighead or food snob but just emphasising how good it is here. We will definitely be back even though we live an hour away but it’s worth the drive. A big shout out to chef and the team 👏🏻also to all the wait staff, especially to Sophie. Great team great food great atmosphere!!!!

Dinner is a degustation menu which caters for various options, e.g. gluten free, vegetarian etc. The food was amazing from start to finish. perfectly sized portions and beautifully presented. Service was impeccable - thank you Megan - and the timing of each course just right. A perfect setting for a special night out.

Well this was a google search I was glad I stumbled upon. On a recent visit to Brisbane I wanted to spoil myself and partner with a unique dining experience and so I found this gem with one word "degustation". From the moment we walked in to this low lit, dark and moody ambience we were wowed. On waiting for our table, we drank the most delicious cocktail, their spiced magarita. We were shortly ushered to our table and there introduced to out waitress, Anna who was very attentive and knowledgeable, answering food questions consisently throughout the night. The food was next level. Really something special and tantalised our tastebuds. Great value too. My favourite was the kingfish dish mainly because the wasabi "ice" cream was indescribably delicious. Other stand outs were the zucchini waffles, Crumbed baby corn and the seared lamb loin with leek salsa and charred onion rings... just delightful. But really, everything was spot on. Not one but two desserts, both equally wonderful in totally different ways. The staff were amazing, the kitchen team just so polished and organised. The food, the staff and the ambience all 10 out of 10's. If we lived in Brisbane we would visit monthly with the menu change. We will be back.

Fine Dining in Newstead. The 6 course degustation menu is currently being served at Rogue due to Covid. Two seatings were available when we booked. The service was impeccable and each course was explained. The presentation was delightful and each course was delicious. Everyone enjoyed all the food . We did not do the wine pairing but all still enjoyed the three bottles chosen by the group. The wine matches the food even if you don’t do the pairing. I would highly recommend Rogue and will return.

Disappointing March degustation, the first course of starters was amazing, but particularly the artichoke. The second course of scallops did not taste nice. The octopus was okay, very salty, and nothing special. The lamb main was good, the pickled pumpkin was an odd taste on its own, but a very nice combination with the lamb. The lychee sorbet was wonderful. The Mille feuille dessert was nice. The service was very good and friendly. Cocktails were excellent. One drink each price $104. All four of us felt similar about the food and cocktails. 2 of us had been there before and said last time was much better.
