After been living in Brisbane for many years, and tried so many Chinese restaurants locally, I still think China Sea is the best on my list for the quality, as well as variety and value for what they offer.

I stayed at least a dozen times at Central Cosmo Apartments when I was living between Brisbane and Sunshine Coast for work, and China Sea was often a convenient place to eat given its location on the ground floor of the hotel. Having said that,...it is a popular restaurant and I missed out on a table more than once when it was fully booked out. They also do not open on Mondays. The restaurant is traditional Cantonese, down to the circular yum cha style tables and fish tanks with the seafood you are about to eat. The food is good and the service is fast. Vegetarian options are limited unfortunately (I couldn’t find much more than vegetable friend rice on the large menu). John Travolta must have been happy when he visited, as evidenced by the smiley photo on the wall with the China Sea Milton staff.More
At China Seas, the customer is their priority. No being shown to a seat then ignored for 15 minutes as happens so often in other restaurants. Superb service, friendly staff, pleasant surroundings and quality tasty food. Can’t wait to return
China Sea at 60 Park Road, Milton, is one of our favourite restaurants. It has never failed (in terms of customer service, food quality etc). We have been going to China Sea since it opened nearly two decades ago. Unfortunately we had a very bad...experience last night when we took pur visitors for dinner at China Sea. Service was poor, it took very long time to get our food. Taste, and quality of food have gone down and servings were smaller than before. We had ordered the King Prawns with pepper, one of our favourite dishes, but was dissapointed to see the quantity and it just didn't taste like it used to be (what we got was just deep fried prawns with light garnishes around). The mixed vegetables with fried tofu hardly had any decent veggies, and, no mushrooms. Fried rice didn't taste right at all. The prawns and the szechuan beef were served first but rice came much late and we had to ask couple of time what was happening to our vegetable dish. Only thing that we enjoyed was the hot and sour soup. Not sure what is wrong, may be change of management or chef but we were very dissapointed. Not going anymore.More
This restaurant did an outstanding job of making our large family gathering a success. The food and beverage service was excellent, including the quality and format of the banquet menu we chose. And they met every one of our family’s complex requests and late changes...so graciously. Even finding us a separate room to allow elderly parents to hear more easily! This is service that we rarely find in restaurants today. The whole experience was wonderful, from the help with parking, the table rearrangement at late notice, food and beverages, and overall service. Top marks to this venue, it deserves our ongoing support!More
I have been there a few times and have always found the food, service, and the staff absolutely fabulous.
Came here with a local whilst I was visiting Brisbane. It was a Monday night and it was quite busy. We shared three or four plates and the food was clean tasting and fresh. Service was good. I’d come back here again.
Visited China Sea a number of times through October. My first visit was spur of the moment as I was nearby (luckily one table left, very busy) and it was exceptional. Had Pan Fried Coral Trout with ginger and shallots, with pork Dumplings for an...entree. Had a nice Chardonnay to accompany. It was such a wonderful experience, I visited again for lunch 2 days later and again within the week. On every occasion the food was amazing, and the service excellent. Make sure you book, it is very popular. My new favourite Chinese restaurant in Brisbane!More
Absolute abomination of a night. A man makes a valiant effort to take the family out for a pre-booked Saturday night 7pm dinner to a highly rated chinese restaurant only to discover that his family has lost faith in his ability to select half-decent restaurants....My last chinese restaurant outing in Indooropilly achieved the honour of being the worst food I had endured since arriving in Brisbane six years ago. Surely the 'famed' China Sea Milton would redeem my love of Chinese gourmet. After being forced to request a menu after around 15 minuts of avoidance and rudeness by the staff (I echo Susan F's review of the surly waiter), when the time to order came around me and the family were in shock and awe. That's right. No peking duck at 7pm on a Saturday night. This would be laughable if it did not beggar belief. OK. Off to a very rough start. Be brave though as things can only get better. The dim sum is running very close to the small animal line. Alas, the Singapore noodles possessed a tang that took at least 36 hears to clear from my memory. Yes, get out the door and never return to this shambolic establishment that sits at the bottom of a dingy and questionable hotel guaranteeing a lovely ambience and atmosphere - almost as good as being located in a shopping centre... Thing is, it was reasonably busy. People of course have much stronger constitutions than me - iron guts I would suggest. Thanks China SeaMore
We have been here many times. The food is always exceptional. We ordered the Peking duck. It was serve as pancakes then San choy bow. The prawn toast is always loved and the sweet and sour fish was cooked perfectly. We have never had a...meal we haven’t enjoyed here. I recommend booking.More
Waiter surly and morose. Prawns frozen, some with poop sack still inside , baby corn and mushrooms from a can, even the garlic used from a jar. Bland and distasteful. Think of the worst Chinese take away you ever had and this restaurant beats that....Bland, bland bland. Nothing fresh being used here. Went on to Suncorp Stadium and got their fish and chips…mass produced and still better than this lunch.More
Great service and fantastic food. Peking duck is amazing and spicy mud crab was something special. Been there twice now in a fortnight and haven’t had a bad dish. Get there.
Can't go wrong with any Succulent Chinese meal here, its to be arrested for ;) China Sea Milton also allows BYO, so bring a succulent Victorian Pinot, I recommend - GET YOUR HANDS OFF MY PINOT! - which is so fresh, bright red fruits that...know their Judo well. Fine tannins that put the wine in a gentle headlock with a long finish. Get these succulent grapes into your face. DEMOCRACY MANIFEST! (I may have been influenced by the juice of the red grape while writing this)More
The restaurant is following all the COVIDSafe procedures so we were quite distanced from the other patrons and all staff were wearing masks. We had prawn dumplings to start which were fantastic with an interesting side sauce. For mains we shared seafood hotpot and green...beans with pork. Both dishes were amazing and everything we saw being delivered to other tables looked delicious. We will definitely go back.More
My wife and I took her mother and brother here for Xmas lunch. Had to book in advance as the restaurant looked pretty full. They charge normal menu price + 15% public holiday surcharge for Xmas day. Great value considering what other venues charge for...Xmas lunch. Definitely recommend the salt & pepper calamari and prawns as an entree, which they normally serve in a large timber boat. I had the Kung Po Chicken + extra chilli, which was absolutely fantastic. I’ve told a lot of my friends about it, so I think booking early for Xmas 2021 will be a MUST.More
