The restaurant is following all the COVIDSafe procedures so we were quite distanced from the other patrons and all staff were wearing masks. We had prawn dumplings to start which were fantastic with an interesting side sauce. For mains we shared seafood hotpot and green...beans with pork. Both dishes were amazing and everything we saw being delivered to other tables looked delicious. We will definitely go back.More

My wife and I took her mother and brother here for Xmas lunch. Had to book in advance as the restaurant looked pretty full. They charge normal menu price + 15% public holiday surcharge for Xmas day. Great value considering what other venues charge for...Xmas lunch. Definitely recommend the salt & pepper calamari and prawns as an entree, which they normally serve in a large timber boat. I had the Kung Po Chicken + extra chilli, which was absolutely fantastic. I’ve told a lot of my friends about it, so I think booking early for Xmas 2021 will be a MUST.More

Over priced average Chinese food. Ordered takeaway from the restaurant. Salt and pepper king prawns were soggy and a very small dish. Beef Hong Kong style tasted like beef in ketchup.

- Ordinary Chinese take away fare with fancy packaging - Cuisine style is stuck in the 90s - Incredibly expensive for what it actually is and fairly poor portions - Staff aren't particularly knowledgeable about the food. Would be ok if this restaurant didn't pretend...to be classier than it is. - 4 Star prices for 3 star food = 2 Star review Nice classy decor in a well air-conditioned hotel building. Everything about the restaurant boasts class, and being in the inner city suburb of Milton, the restaurant fits in nicely to its surroundings. The positives end where the food begins. Consisting mostly of uninspired 90s Chinese Buffet fare repackaged in nice plates, small portions, and high pricing, it takes a second for your mind to adjust to the juxtaposition. The food isn't bad per say, just incredibly average. Some highlights were the duck and crispy shallot pancake entree that would be worth getting if you accidentally wander into this place. If you wanted to impress white friends/family with seemingly upper-class Chinese cuisine, this is a decent option as there are certainly more disastrous places to take them. If you don't hate your taste buds and bank account, and want *good* Chinese food, I'd suggest you give China Sea a hard miss. Our bill without drinks was $200 for 5 people for very forgettable food in light portions.More

The service here was spot-on and the food even better. All staff were friendly and service was quick and accurate. We highly recommend the prawn toast, prawn dumplings, deep fried calamari with spicy salt, sweet and sour pork with pineapple and the combination seafood hot...pot. All our food was hot and fresh. Everything was obviously made in-house, the prawn toast was full of prawn and definitely not the bought pre-frozen stuff you get in a lot of Chinese restaurants. We will most definitely be back.More

One of the best Chinese meals I have had in a long time. I could not fault any of the dishes we ordered. Service was impeccable. It is no wonder the restaurant was full, with people waiting, on a Saturday night.

We’ve dined in once with friends and have ordered takeaway on a number of occasions. Satay chicken, chicken with cashews and Mongolian beef tend to be our usual choices. The food is consistent, the flavours are pleasant, and the meat is tender. If you’re after...gluten free meals, don’t bother. The choices are woefully plain.More

Service is always slick and quality of seafood is good - always fresh. The owner, Stanley, is mostly around welcoming diners and seeing the venue runs smoothly. The coral trout tastes as if it has not long come out of the water and the battered...prawns arrive in a cute little wooden boat and taste divine. Crispy pork and duck dishes are also particular favourites.More

Given the generally 5 starred reviews about this restaurant on this website, we decided to host a birthday dinner last Saturday. Being Asians, we thought that the food of such a reputable restaurant would be up to scratch. Imagine our shock when the experience turned...out to be far from what other reviewers were reporting! First, the order was mixed up by the waitress. Two different beef dishes turned up when only one was ordered. This would have been resolved right from the start if the waitress bothered to confirm the orders by repeating them as is normal in the restaurant trade. Nothing of the sort happened. Then, the food arrived. As an Asian who has eaten Asian food across four continents, I do know what good Asian food is like and should be. What arrived was not. The Fillet Steak Hong Kong Style was heavily laced with red colouring and sugar [a very effective taste enhancer for Western palates]. The Szechuan Chilli Beef did not even have a hint of chilli in it, much less accompanied by dried chilli pods as to be expected from a Szechuan dish! The King Prawns in Wine Sauce was particularly disappointing..the prawns were absolutely tasteless. I had to dip them heavily in soy sauce to get any taste at all. The Chinese Broccolli in Oyster Sauce was probably the worst I have tasted in my lifetime. The dish was served with hardly any oil to enhance the dish. The oyster sauce was just slopped onto the vegetables. And it was the saltiest version I have ever tasted. Good oyster sauce is slightly salty to tickle the taste buds while simultaneously bringing out the flavours of the other ingredients. What was served tasted like it came straight from a salt vat. Salt is a preservative, and when used in a large quantity, it masks the qualities of other ingredients. Go figure! The only dish worth eating was the roast duck, and that, one can buy from any Chinese butchery. When the manager was informed about the order mix up, all that was done was a query for the waitress. No attempt was made to resolve the issue or even an apology by way of some dessert fruits [customary in Chinese restaurants after dinner]. From an Asian perspective, any review of it being "Best Chinese Restaurant in Brisbane" can only mean that I must have been living in a parallel universe. Oh well, it seems that other Chinese reviewers here have also pooh-poohed this eatery. I wonder why? Is it because as the cuisine originated from Asia, we do know what we are talking about?More

As far as I know, you can BYO wine. Corkage is charged. The restaurant is licensed, and all other alcohol has to be purchased there.
