While the food is quite tasty the meat portions are very small and the majority of what you’re paying reasonably high prices for is gravy/sauce. Not good value.

As regular take-away patrons of this restaurant, my wife and I decided to enjoy a sit-down brunch here on Sunday 12th January 2020. We had a masala dosa and a plain dosa. The dosas were perfectly prepared – crispy thin, with the right texture and...taste. The potato masala filling was deliciously spicy. The accompaniments – sambar and chutneys complemented the dosas well. The weekend Sri Lankan foods at Shanti are a treat.More
Excellent service and authentic tasty food. We are regular visitor for eat-in and take-aways. Weekend-menu is brilliant.
Average meal. Received decent size meal with good amount of meat. Disappointed that I asked for "hot" and they did not deliver, closer to mild/medium. The butter chicken had way too much cream for my liking for something that is suppose to be tomato based...tastes cream based and way to heavy for my liking but some might like that. Rice was ok, enjoy the saffron rice. Everything added up a bit expensive for the average meal.More
Very delicious ! We had beautiful masala dosa’s which were crisp and tasty. I also recommend the idli’s too! Will be back for sure.
Lunched at Shanti on Sunday 29th July 2018, with my wife. The restaurant was light and airy and the new décor, table-setting and atmosphere were lovely. The waitress who attended to us was ever so pleasant and welcoming, and so was the owner who enquired...as to how we were liking the food. Our meal consisted of string-hoppers, idli and masala dosa from the Weekend Sri Lankan fare. Each of these dishes was perfect. The idly was spongy and just right to the taste. The string-hoppers were sumptuous and were a delight with the sothi and the sambal. The masala dosa was large and crispy and the spicy potato filling was just perfect to our seasoned taste-buds. The sambar and the two chutneys complemented the idli and masala dosa very well. We also bought some urid and chana vadas as takeaways, as we have always found them to be par excellence. Shanti Indo-Lankan is our first choice for Sri Lankan and Indian food. Full marks to the new owners and the chefs. The service could not have been any better. It is always a delight to dine at this restaurant, and the parking is very convenient.More

Our party of 3 enjoyed a Sri Lankan brunch at Shanti on Sunday 10th December 2017. Our meals comprised string hoppers (served with sothi and spicy sambol), masala dosa and idli. The dosa and idli were served with sambar and chutneys. We had salty lassi,...mango lassi and a strawberry milk shake for drinks – quite refreshing. We also bought urid vadas and chana vadas as takewaways - spicy and yummy. The service was very good and the Sri Lankan the food tasted delicious. The restaurant has had a slight facelift as it is under new management. We were pleased to meet and talk with the new owners.More
Lunched here again with my wife on Sunday 8th October 2017. We had masala dosa and idly between the two of us. The 4 pieces of idly were spongy and had the right texture and taste. The masala dosa had a generous amount of spicy...potato filling and was delicious. The thickness and crispiness was just right. The idly and the masala dosa were served with coconut sambal, pudina sambal and lentil sambar. These complemented the idly and masala dosa in variations of taste and spiciness. For drinks we had falooda - a refreshing rose syrup flavoured milkshake with sweet basil seeds and a scoop of ice-cream on the top. As takeaways, we ordered 4 urid vadas and 4 channa vadas. Both of these were perfectly done. The urid vadas had onion and chillies in the doughnut shaped fritters, while the masala-flavoured channa vadas were crispy, crunchy and spicy. Once again, thumbs up to the chefs of these Sri Lankan dishes. We were privileged to meet the friendly owner Naveen, who also waited on us.More
