Dinner at Lamberts - A birthday surprise !

The weekend of 28 - 29th Nov 2020 was my first dining experience at The Point Brisbane Hotel. I attended with my wife and friends to celebrate my 54th birthday. We booked Eagles Nest (Rooftop Bar) for sundowners followed by dinner at Lamberts Restaurant. I ordered a medium-rare 200g eye fillet with "red wine jus" paired with Wirra Wirra Church Block cabernet sauvignon shiraz merlot (Mclaren Vale, South Aus.). The steak was cooked to perfection; something i have not experienced in Brisbane for quite some time. I noticed the drinks are a great deal more inexpensive when compared to some of the former Top Restaurants in Brisbane, a few of which are no longer in operation. I received nothing but raving feedback with respect to meals from everyone else in our party. Particularly the house made seafood fettuccini as well as the swordfish deserve a mention here. Compliments to the Chef ! Karina provided a friendly professional service and also went the extra mile by arranging a complimentary surprise Dessert platter with "Happy Birthday" written in chocolate sauce. In my opinion it is these kinds of gestures that make the world of difference. The staff at Lamberts as well as Eagles Nest (despite being clearly under the "pump") really did do their best to make it special for our party as well as provide a professional and efficient service. The Rooftop bar (Eagles Nest) with its vibrant music and uplifting views is definitely also a must and I sincerely recommend both venues. Well done guys and thank you for making my Birthday a memorable occasion !

Old fashioned service

Spent a couple of days at The Point Hotel for our wedding anniversary and took advanatge of the Lambert restaurant therein. Whilst the decor needs a little bit of a face lift that can't be said for the excellent professional manner in which Yvonne manages this little venue, something that's quite rare these days we feel! The menu is no overly extensive but would cater for all beautifully executed with excellent portions. There is a good variety of wines on the restaurant list and the feeling of welcome wreaks from this place so there's no rushing in and rushing out. It's a little gem that can only grow in stature from our experience this week.

Excellent choice for fine dining in Brisbane

MY companion and I recently enjoyed dinner here on a busy Friday evening. The service from the lovely Yvonne was impeccable. Very courteous and attentive without being annoying. There was a good selection of dishes on the menu for starts mains and desert. WE chose a fillet steaks and side salad and the local swordfish. Very nice touch to be invited to choose what steak knife you’d like but it was a little difficult to make a choice. With the blades in the canteen, you had to take them out to see the differences. We started with the bread and dips, which was very good and the serving was generous. That was followed by the eye fillet with a side salad and the fish. My companion likes steak very well done and he said it was cooked to perfection. The fish was nice but the thin bed of kipfler potato and corn was a little disappointing. Would have liked to see a lamb dish and another vegetarian dish on offer. Main mela presentation was average. For deserts we chose the calvados creme brûlée and the ruby chocolate. The ruby chocolate was very good but the brûlée was a standout. Everything about it was superb. The only minor quibble was that the Sorbet was a little too tart for my liking. Desert presentations were really attractive. Lamberts has a very good wine list with a nice range of wines by the glass and the bottle. Making a selection would have been easier if the wines were more obviously listed according to variety. A good selection of cocktails is also on offer. The surroundings are comfortable and provide a nice environment for a quiet dinner. Overall, the quality of food is extremely good so add that to the satisfying wine list and excellence service Lambert’s delivers a very enjoyable evening and well worth a visit.

Very ordinary

First impression of restaurant was good, until we started getting served by rude and very very slow waiters... there was 4 adults at the table, we all had 2 drinks each before we where told to have any more alcohol we had to order food (never been told that in my life). Food wasn't up to scratch. Very disappointing night out as we travelled from sunshine coast to brisbane just to go there.

Our special occasion place

Lamberts is our ‘go to’ restaurant for a special dinner occasion or with friends. We brought our granddaughter here for her 16th birthday. We love to treat ourselves with a 2 or 3 night stay at the hotel and they offer a very generous breakfast. The food is always delicious and worth coming back for.

Dining Pleasure

We recently stayed at The Point and dined at Lamberts for dinner both nights as well as partaking of their a la carte breakfast both mornings. Service on all occasions was a perfect balance of friendly and professional. I loved that all staff were well presented in a very smart uniform. Our meals were excellent, the menu just the right size. The restaurant has a very good wine list also. We would definitely recommend Lamberts and will return on a future visit to Brisbane.

Wedding anniversary

We recently stayed at The Point for a belated 30th wedding anniversary. We dined in the evening and also in the morning for breakfast in Lamberts restuarant. The food and service was impeccable. Our dinner table was decorated with flowers and candles(unbeknown to us) and the chef also generously prepared an additional dessert to sample. Staff could not have been more helpful, or attentive . Was lovely and we will definitely be back to stay and dine again.

Exceeded our expectations

My wife and I dined at Lamberts on Saturday evening 24th April, 2021 and the service, food and ambience were everything we anticipate in a fine dining restaurant. The Phoenix Wagyu beef was cooked to perfection and is highly recommended. We have recently experienced a run-of-the-mill and impersonal attitude at some of Brisbane's established restaurants, and it was a welcome change to enjoy the friendly, relaxed and pleasant atmosphere, and high standard of food and service provided by Lamberts.

Breakfast. Enormous servings, plenty of variety and top quality food

Ate breakfast here two mornings. Servings were so large we could not finish our meals. Food was of a very high standard and there was plenty to chose from despite the buffet not being available due to COVID-19 restrictions. Orange juice was fresh, Bircher muesli was one of the best I’ve ever eaten. There were plenty of sides to choose from with the hot breakfasts which were also excellent. Eggs Benedict was very good and the eggs were cooked perfectly. Wait staff were attentive, helpful, friendly and obliging.

Best swordfish I have tasted

The staff were very attentive and would go the extra mile to make sure that you had a great experience and enjoyed your meal. We stayed at The Point Hotel and had breakfast twice, lunch once and dinner once whilst there and on each and every occasion we had a fabulous time. The swordfish for dinner was so delicious. it was moist and melted in the mouth (every mouthful cooked to perfection) and I would go there again just to eat that.

Breakfast was delicious!

We booked a hotel room which included breakfast at Lamberts Restaurant and I can honestly say we will be back to visit again. Firstly, the staff were welcoming, accomodating and friendly. We had multiple servers at our table, including a staff member in training and I can’t fault any of them. COVID safe practices were in full swing, we were asked to sign in, seated a decent distance from other diners and given single use menus. The menu catered for both standard and vegan diets, (I actually didn’t expect to be given so many options). The food was bought out quickly and it was delicious. I’m looking forward to visiting again and I think we will be booking dinner too. Highly recommend.

Really Lovely Luxury Escape package Deal in the City

Booked a Luxury escape package, and had a wonderful experience at The Pointe Hotel. The hotel is situated well with nice riverfront walks. The staff were very friendly and the service was outstanding. The meal package we got was outstanding value and the food was very good quality and generous portions. Its a smaller more intimate hotel, witha comfortable bed and very pleasant and thoughtful staff which made our stay over Christmas very enjoyable - we will definately be back!

Just Enjoy

Wife and I enjoyed our Wedding Anniversary dinner at Lamberts last weekend and were certainly not disappointed with everything being of the highest quality. Surrounds are quiet and intimate and away from the hotel part of the complex. The menu offers something for everyone and is not just focused on steak / seafood etc. – it has great options. We both enjoyed our meals which were cooked and presented and the wife raved over the donut balls for desert – simple but so tasty. Again service is professional efficient without being in your face. Parking is on the street and not too bad Will we be back – you bet 100% Just Enjoy

Hidden Gem

Lamberts is a gem, hidden in the backstreets of Kangaroo Point in The Point Hotel. We had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant and both meals were beautifully presented and tasted as good as they looked. It was an accidental find, but we would not hesitate to return. Their cocktails were exceptional as well. The only criticism is the restaurant is clearly a hotel breakfast room and could do with a little(lot of) zooshing up, to reflect the high quality, preparation and presentation of its food.

Disappointed

Booked on the strength of the No 1 rating in Brisbane and we’re left disappointed, our chosen wine was unavailable and the substitute, whilst perfectly acceptable seemed expensive for what it was. My Caesar salad with chicken was acceptable, and the beer batter chips were the highlight - they were sensational, Hubby chose the seafood linguine - their signature dish, which he found to be bland and totally lacking in flavour. The prawns were tiny (which made us think they were not Australian) and tasteless, as was the sauce (what little there was of it), not a hint of garlic or chilli or salt or anything, So for $160 for lunch, the Southbeach Social Club at Southbank was eminently more satisfying and better value for money.
