I have been to this restaurant several times over the past years and my latest experience was no different. An engaging menu that does not disappoint when the meal is actually served and enjoyed, good wine list, a great ambience, a vibrant bar, and attentive, competent, and friendly staff. So many restaurants let themselves down in one of these aspects which detracts from an experience. Honestly, this place makes trying an alternative restaurant as being a risk of disappointment.

I dined here solo after coming off night shift. I sat down near the bar and was looking at the menu when I was approached by a helpful staff member who asked if I wanted to have some food. I said yes and she quickly went to the kitchen and asked if I could order a meal because it was at an odd time between lunch and dinner. I ordered the Eye Fillet with Goddess Salad and Truffle Chips.
The steak was cooked beautifully, as requested and the salad although simple was crisp and tasty as was the Whiskey and Peppercorn sauce. The chips had a subtle truffle flavour and topped with shredded Parmesan cheese. My friendly waiter also offered a choice of mustard's, I chose Hot English.
My apologies to my waiter for not getting your name but thank-you all the same.

Attending a regular monthly networking meeting where we go to a different place each month. November was at this place.
The dining room provides a quieter venue for dining and worked well for the dozen or so people in the party.
The meals were generous and the service fast. I had a very nice steak, done to perfection. I normally have medium well and this was a bit more medium than well.
My colleague was instructing the waitresses on the correct way to hold wine bottles and carafes as he felt they were not doing it correctly but in a nice way.

Went to this restaurant after it was recommended by a few people, it was very disappointing to say the least, two out of the three steaks were overcooked and the meals weren’t worth the price tag, also the service was terrible. It puts a bad taste in your mouth when you are paying over $500 for three meals and wine and you walk away disappointed....hence the bad review!

Booking was difficult.
We had to speak with the function co Ordinator to get a booking for 14 plus 2 high hairs.
Waitress was very attentive and friendly.
Food was very disappointing.
Mooloolabah prawns was to heavy with chilli and two were ordered and way too much chilli for both, left a fair amount.
The bangers and mash were way too spicy and the added gravy peppercorn was too much.
The chicken dish, was ok the only part enjoyed were the chips.
The crab spaghettini was sparse on crab and the pasta was over cooked. Almost gluggy, very disappointing. The duck spring rolls and scallops were nice.
The ribs were disappointing. Not much option in relation to a kids meal one scoop of ice cream $12 when asked for a small scoop for 3 yr old was $6
Very expensive and disappointing especially since this was a pre wedding dinner with family and friends.
Sorry would not recommend to anyone to dine here. Very disappointing with a lot of money spent with less than average food.

The reason for the 5 star review was due to the incredible service from our waiter. We travel to Brisbane annually for a birthday dinner from Noosa and due to the restaurants being closed at Stamford Plaza we dined across the road at the Port Office Hotel for the first time. Thomas our waiter was a wizz! Fast, constant service to all in the area we were in, knowledgeable and so friendly. One would think coming from a hospitality area of Noosa you would have seen this service before, but no, we had to go to the POH in Brisbane. We haven't seen that kind of service from where we are from. The POH is very lucky to have such a highly skilled, professional and personable staff member like Thomas. Thank you for the lovely dinner.

We always have the duck spring rolls they are yum. We had the largest veal schnitzel it was like a crumbed rib eye, it was very tender and full of flavour. The wine list is very good also. The service is very good, we had a young lady look after us and she was nervous as she was under training. Yes, a restaurant that actually trains their staff, we were so impressed with her and this restaurant as it never lets you down. Highly recommended.

I booked a table for 8 on 20th December 2022.
We were most disappointed with three of the Wagyu beef steaks and the lamb rack.
The Wagyu steaks were requested medium rare and one would have expected them to melt in the mouth. Instead these were tough and chewy.
The lamb rack was rare and cold.
We were very disappointed by the quality of what we were served in a restaurant that specializes in steaks, up and most of the steaks were left uneaten.
I mentioned it to the floor manager Tif. She told us that the reason the steaks were chewy was because they were probably not cooked on a high enough heat. However, nothing was taken off the bill. I did not want to make a scene, so paid the bill.
Needless to say I was not happy with the outcome.
On a positive note the sirloins were great and the service was impeccable

I have to admit this is a bit of a favourite venue for mine, but I thought it time to post something. The quality of the food is always good and it is one of my two preferred steak venues in Brisbane. Wine options are a nice mix right the way through the price range as opposed to a $50 option and a $100 option that many restaurants offer. Service is slick without being in your face. Meal sizes are another positive, just good value all round.

We booked, easily on the app, though it showed almost no spaces available so when we arrived I expected the dining room to be full. We were lead to the back room, front room was almost empty back room was. Were were all the bookings I don’t know.
Room was clean and well set out. Staff were friendly.
Then we got to the menu, remember this is a hotel and I thought the food would be good, a step up from most Australian hotel/pub but the menu was a whole different level.
The menu may have been a decent menu for some upmarket restaurants however this was not the menu that I was expecting, and unfortunately I was unable to find anything that was to my liking. As the menu was elaborate the prices were similar to match.

Compliments to the chefs and the waiter. We Dined last night and the meals were of an exceptional high quality. I had the eye fillet and it was cooked to perfection and melted in your mouth. I was honestly worried it would not come out as requested (rare) and paying $49 I would have sent it back. But oh my god it was perfect and I couldn’t fault it and I was a very happy customer. Our waiter was very attentive and service was first rate. We will definitely be back when next in Brisbane.

Had a lovely meal here with our two children. Despite arriving later in the evening, we were welcomed and shown straight to a table. The staff were extremely accommodating and even cooked my son another steak when he wasn’t full after the first one. Cocktails were great, steak superb, and my little one raved about the cheeseburger from the children’s menu. Would definitely return.

Visited as a group of 4 In October 2020. Visited the pop-up champagne bar upstairs.
Prices average for the area.
Food was very poor. Aracini were empty pockets of crumbs. Korean chicken tasted overpoweringly of vinegar. Other items were over-cooked.
Like, the pianist of the night did a fantastic job and created a great atmosphere in the place.
The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Service was fast.
But the food was such a let-down.

We ate here as a last minute choice and were pleasantly surprised to get a table straight away on a Friday . Again pleasantly surprised by the food quality. The vietnamese lamb rib entree with green papaya salad was especially spicy and flavoursome. Service time even though incredibly busy was excellent and we will return.

Probably the best food consistently in Brisbane, it is always delicious. We come here often and always recommend to friends and visitors. Steak is top tier and reasonable compared to what you find at other restaurants but there are also many other great meat, fish and veggie options. Always end up far too full because we have to order our favourites plus new additions to try! The desserts are also fantastic so make sure you save room.
