Great location and friendly staff. But disappointed to see menu has not changed in 12 months and clearing plates is still an issue. Nothing worse than chatting whilst chasing away flies.

We had a delicious lunch at The Ship Inn. My wife had the calamari, which was extremely good and I had the sausage and mash, which was also excellent. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. We also enjoyed reading about the history of the...pub in the book, which was presented to us while we waited for our meal. We liked the meal and the atmosphere so much that we came back for lunch again the next day.More
A pleasing set of 4 main courses for dinner. Helpful and attentive table service. The Beef Wellington was especially good. Ate outside.
Excellent food and superior service. I had the calamari and my wife had the lasagna. Both perfectly cooked. It also has a superior atmosphere.
This is the best chicken parmi I've ever had, anywhere in Australia. It was a pure chicken breast, cooked to perfection. Tender, juicy, and full of flavour. The topping was divine. Reasonably priced. Here for business, I'm going to come back again to sample more...or the chefs food.More
Great pub in Southbank for Friday drinks/meal after work. Very convenient location for us to walk to QPAC to see Hamilton. Beers we’re good and meals were timely and delicious.
Stumbled across this pub on the south bank , tucked away in a corner . The menu looked inviting , we selected the beef wellington and the special of the day ( beef stroganoff) . We were not disappointed! Fabulous food , generous portions, fresh...and hot ! Great friendly service too .More
Atmosphere great. Waiter attentive but waited an hour after ordering due to them changing the oil. Food was dreadful. Hair found in the Tartare sauce and Crumbed fish severely over cooked Expensive for such crap food ! Bonus...chips were great. Salad not bad.
Had an office Xmas party upstairs in one of the venue rooms. The buffet offered was very nice with a good selection of food, the deserts selection were excelletn as well.
We visit The Ship Inn on a regular basis to catch up with friends. My recent visit was disappointing. I had the rump, chips & salad. My rump was riddled with gristle. It was difficult to cut and even harder to chew. I understand restaurants...have had a tough few years, so I didn't want to complain and I thought the steak may have got better. But it didn't so i never finished it.. But when the waiter asked me how was the rump? I couldn't lie. I told him that it was full of gristle. He did look surprised. I don't know if he told the kitchen but I didn't get an apology.More
Our party of 4 enjoyed lunch there yesterday 13/11/22. Food and service was excellent. Have dined there before and have always enjoyed it.
Thank you Di B. Your ongoing support is much appreciated.
Had a function upstairs in a private room for approximately 100 people. Finger food was provided for the occasion and it was delicious. Spring rolls and bao buns were delicious. Once the function was finished we went down to the restaurant for a late dinner....Andrew our waiter was so friendly advising us on the wine and menu. Turkish garlic bread and fish and chips were our pick for our meals. Would return there because of the excellent service we were given.More
Hey Lyn T, thanks for the kind words. We enjoy our relationship with the armed forces and thank them all for their service
The sign says good pub food, and that is what we got. Ate in the beer garden area which was a bit quieter. Good menu and pretty good selection of drinks. Fast service and pleasant staff. On the edge of southbank so a bit less...frenetic.More
Thanks Rama, we aim for classic pub food cooked with care and we also have some amazing specials with the beef lamb and chicken raised on our own farm.
Good, quick service at our table overlooking the street scene. We arrived after the worst lunchime crush was over following our visit to the Maritime Museum across the street and ordered a 'meal of the day', baramundi with all the trimmings and a fish &...chips. The food tasted good and was served soon after ordering. We'd go back again for sure.More
Hello freespirit1950 Love the handle and appreciate your comments.
We stopped in for a glass of wine on Friday approximately 03:00pm we would have liked to have a light snack with the wine. However we were told by bar man/waiter the kitchen was closed. I did ask out of interest what time the kitchen...closed, to be told the kitchen is closed. We accepted this, however whilst sitting a man passed with a bowl of chips, he arrived after us. The advertisement for The Ship Inn is all day dining Mon -Friday. Not sure why we were told "Kitchen Closed". One thing the owner should take into account is we are local and when things get quiet he will depend on the locals. Well not this local I will not be in The Ship Inn again there are lots of other places to go.More
