Our second experience and we CAN now CONFIRM that, we have found a jewel! As dedicated and loyal conveyers of everything coffee (that, real espresso coffee and not, what is Italian call Dirty Water,) we can now declare Ferny Cafe ‘Our Local’!
We are building in the nearby estate of Ellendale overlooking an amazing landscape of bush land. As former Melbournians we are relieved to have uncovered an environment, such as, the Ferny Cafe, which offers everything we would usually gravitate towards!
Welcoming and accomodating - attentive and attention to detail - coffee is perfectly ground, tempered and poured (I had the frappè and hubby had a ‘Caffé Lattè’!
We both had the chicken burger 🍔 and it was fabulous, as were our meals previously experienced in Dec 2020
Having come from generations of restaurateurs and growing up, spending all my after school time out the back storeroom doing my homework and learning the business from front of house to the kitchen - I am qualified to acknowledge a well presented environment when I experience it!
Yes, it takes a great volume of emotional, mental and physical resilience to sustain a business, any business! However, a platform, such as a cafe, the dynamics are magnified ... and yes there will always be moments when fatigue or focus may be compromised ... remember, we are human, people!

Great staff, delicious meals - with a great range to choose from - as well as a comfortable setting - indoors as well as outdoors.
From the personal greeting upon arrival, to the ordering process then arrival of the meals, the young staff were friendly, happy and efficient.
All of us enjoyed the meals and great to have a suburban cafe that is licensed.
And the toilets were very clean and neat - so many times this lets venues down.
So more than happy to return.

Food was absolutely delicious, it was busy but lots of tables inside and out, has aircon and high chairs

Waited 30 minutes for food till I asked at counter and turns out the order didn’t get to the kitchen - Cafe 101? Smoothie was nice and staff friendly and readily refunded.
