A major disappointment. Wine prices through the roof, food portions entree size, and you have to order sides as an (expensive) extra. A note of caution, if you order the carrot side dish, it comes cold. About one carrot for $14. There were four of...us. We won’t be back.More

We hadn't been in years and were completely surprised by the superb food and tasty menu. A great experience all round with excellent wait staff and chefs. For those who say it's terrible and don't bother, go complain elsewhere. Despite a mean and rude table...next to us spoiling the atmosphere, I definitely recommend a visit! Our waitress, by the way, handled the obnoxious table exceptionally well! We will return. Thanks, C'est Bon, for a fantastic dinner out!More

I am sad to say that this was such a disappointing experience. I had high hopes but felt let down by the whole experience. We had to wait almost an hour for our food, which in the end was nice/adequate. It was the simple things...that were absent that contribute to a lovely experience - the service was ordinary, no serving utensils with the food so we had to find a waiter and ask for them, plates of food were pushed across the table to diners instead of being placed, waiters reaching in front of diners to grab plates that were stacked noisily in front of us on the table - There was just no sense of a nice dining experience beyond the décor and lighting, which admittedly is very pleasant. Prices and portions are probably what you would expect in a French restaurant but I cannot say I would return or recommend. The dining experience that you anticipate is simply not what is delivered.More

Honestly don’t bother! We were one of 2 tables in the restaurant. Service was nonchalant at best. Had to ask numerous times for our wine to be topped up. Food was TINY serves, the restaurant was stifling hot no air conditioning. So disappointing after driving...past for many years and choosing to celebrate a special occasion hereMore

Unfortunately, the meal was very disappointing. The best part was the wine, which was superb, but was very overpriced. Next best were the "amuse bouche" or snacks, which were very tasty but tiny and overpriced. My gnocchi for entree was quite nice and light but...the veloute was not "velvety" and just seemed like a tomato sauce. The duck for main was bland and not a pink peppercorn in sight. I've had many a cassoulet and this one was not one of the best; a bit thin and not rich like it should be with duck fat. The dessert was the most disappointing. I had the tarte tartin but there was no tart to be seen, just a few crumbs on the plate and a small pile of sour apple. I would have been embarrassed to serve this. My dinner guests had similar thoughts about their meals. It is a shame because the restaurant used to be very good and actually served authentic "bon cuisine". We will not be returning.More

Have often driven by this restaurant and planned a visit- so booked our end of year book club dinner. What a great idea that turned out to be. Started off with ‘princess garden’ cocktail, one of the speciality drinks- then a look through the extensive...wine list to pick a few bottles of French White wine to share. There was a recommendation from the waitress to pick a tasting menu they have for groups, but we decided not to do that. Instead we shared some entrees (duck was the stand out ) and chose our own mains. All loved our choices, my lamb dish has to rate as one of the best I’ve ever had- and I love lamb! Super tender and flavoursome. Enjoyed the beetroot side dish also. Desserts were also excellent. The service was friendly but a little slow, that’s why I only give 4 , but we all said we would definitely go again this time with our families.More

This was to be a special occasion to celebrate my 75 th birthday I had been there when the previous owner operated it.and it was great We walked in and were shown to our table and all we received was a wine list .25 minutes...later I had to call a wait staff for a menu, The ambience was poor and the noise from other diners was unbelievable. The large plates were bread and butter sized plates and the small plates were the size of saucers The corn brulee entree was like baby food and you were provided with the smallest of teaspoons to eat it The steak Tartare was supposed to be wagu but it looked like mince cubes It was like some sort of particles in gravy The main was Chateau Briand at an exorbitant cost It was like a deconstructed version There were basically no vegetables and it was only served with condiments. We ordered beetroot @$14 it was the size of twenty cent piece We also ordered sour dough bread It was 3 small pieces of waffle that came out with the main course A total of 3 mouth fulls The night was a total disasterMore

I will start by saying the food we had was very tasty. The rest left a lot to be desired. Firstly we were taken to out table and then ober the coirse of the next 15 minutes recived very slowly some water. Then a drinks...menu. Then some cutlery. And finally food menus. Menuea should bebgiven when you are seated. Then, we ordered a selection of snacks and a large plate to share. The snacks came out at different times with the time between dish 1 and the final snack dish about 30 minutes. Considering the small size of the snacks it would be better to get them closer together. We then waited over 30 minutes for a bowl of gnocchi. After being told it was a few moments away we still waited more than 5 minutes from that point. Even worse was when we found a bone in our rabbit terrine. Not a huge problem in itself but the response from the staff was appalling. The first waitress told us she couldn't believe it was possible. Wow. The second gave us a half hearted sorry. With some better responses to our concerns about the bone and wait times and we might have gone back. Not now.More

The place looks great and the service from one staff member on both occasions superb. Highlights of the first visit included salmon roe and blini's, rabbit rillette (sublime), the quail l'orange was very rare more like squab or pigeon would be cooked and was sadly...tough, the notion of duck l'orange conjoured an image of sauce and here was none, however the laquered appearance of the bird was beautiful. We had cheese for dessert and it was delicious. I didn't try the duck eclairs but they got rave reviews, the cold charcoal carrot dish didn't. On the second visit I had delicious cheese filled zucchini flowers, trumpeter fish which was perfectly cooked with a mouclade sauce, usually served with mussels and it was also great. One of our table of 4 had her entree forgotten (the salmon caviar), then freezing cold crab mornay which was sent back, it had also arrived a tad late. I couldn't fit dessert in but the chocolate crepe and madelines got the thumbs up. Across both visits the wine was delicious and is expensive, the food a mixed bag with some of it delicious. Not sure that I would return for a meal but would try the bar.More

We hadnt been to this restaurant for many years. It has doubled in size since then. It has a very pleasant bar area separate to the dining area. The tables are in another area and very quiet from the traffic on Stanley Street. Service and...food was excellent. The wine list is predominantly French which is fine but the prices of all wine is over the top expensive. There were only two bottles for $80 - a South Burnett wine and an unknown to me Stanthorpe wine. Every other wine was well over $100. I dont mind a mark up but this blew us away so we wont be going back.More

Extremely disappointing. The entrees were delicious but the mains were minuscule in portions. The Carrot Terrine was not a terrine and not a main dish at all but rather a side dish of roasted carrots for $26 ?? The trout was not available and so...we had grouper. It was also tiny and over priced. No sides were provided so we ordered beetroot tarte tatin which was tough and tasteless. Will not be back. Huge disappointment.More
