Found this place by chance when i was new to Brisbane and was very glad we did. Best to dress up a little as the atmosphere is smart. Starters are delicious, but the real winner is the gnocchi. My partner was staring at my plate...More

I was very excited to go to this restaurant and while everyone was very nice, friendly and helpful, the food means I will be unlikely to return. We bought a low price bottle of Chianti which was fabulous, but the food was poor. My husband...More

Being a regular and an absolute fan of Tartufo restaurant, I can't sing it's praises enough. Where do I start? Let's begin with brilliant service, followed by an extensive wine list... and oh.... the food. Authentic, fresh, and well presented every single time, this is...More

If ever people visit Brisbane, this is the first restaurant I recommend. Great food, the Gnocchi is to die for, and the wine selection is terrific...no idea what they are, as most are Italian origin, but the fun is in the tasting and trying something...More

The only thing negative I can say is I'm ashamed it's taken me so long to try this place. I've read about it for years and it did not disappoint. We had a lovely birthday dinner here for a friend. We started with the oysters...More

Hi Craig - we have since heard from another family dining the same night as we did (one of them is a work colleague) that they had the same experience with the waitress that we did. It is a shame that the restaurant avoids... More

Description
1889 Enoteca is part of the heritage listed Moreton Rubber Works building (circa 1889) located in the antique quarter of Woolloongabba. We have incorporated a restaurant & wine bar along with a basement level cellar for private dining & functions for up to 42 people. We offer traditional Roman fare which is made to be enjoyed in our relaxed but sophisticated setting. Our menu showcases the freshest produce available & the pasta & bread that we offer is and made by our chefs on a daily basis which is testament to our commitment to quality. Our wine list is an encyclopedia of artisan producers with a particular focus on natural winemakers. Natural winemaking involves using indigenous yeasts, minimal (if any) chemicals & little technological intervention. Many of these wines are organic, biodynamic & have been picked personally by the owners who have visited the vineyards. Our wines have a story!
