Great atmosphere and nice place to come. They have some great cocktails and looked like a nice menu (I didn’t try any food!) The music definitely depends on how is playing. We came in earlier before dinner and it wasn’t great and then come after...and it was awesomeMore

Changed name after not refunding tickets to many customers. Used to be a great place. But I would not support them now.

Definitely depends on the pianist playing but there is a great atmosphere here, good drinks menu and really friendly and professional staff

Went to the Boo Bop Bar last night to shoot a friend playing there, Peter Cupples... He was promoting his new album "Sweet Summer Nights". What a great show, and great venue to play, relax in and listen to live music. Photos: Bechtel Photography -...Art4LifeMore

Outstanding service. Stumbled across this place on the way back to our hotel and thought we'd try a cocktail and the bar man was amazing - he made them to our acquired taste and nailed it. Great music also, would definitely recommend

Stumbled across this joint last year and boy were we surrprised. One level down from street, this gorgeous little jazz bar has so much to offer. Well priced drinks, confortable seating, fantastic live music.

Went to show in basement area. Lots of atmosphere with low ceilings and lighting. Very professional meet and greet. Staff attentive and friendly. Pretty crowded as sell out show. Piano bar upstairs was going well also. Let down with the food. Not even food van standard...with pub menu. Had Angus beefburger and cold meat and nibbles. Burger was barely warm and soggy. Chips were mash potato fritters. Would try again but would eat before hand.More

We have been coming here for 2 years and always thoroughly enjoyed it. All 3 areas have been awesome. However last night we were refused entry by the incredibly rude and arrogant security person because he said my husband looked intoxicated! We had just been...to dinner and were coming to the Doo Bop to celebrate New Year’s Eve, so no, we hadn’t had drinks yet. When I asked what made him think my husband was drunk he called me argumentative and said he would get the police and fine me $6000! I have been teaching disengaged youth for over 30 years and have never been spoken to like that and treated with such disrespect. When I asked if I could speak to someone in charge he indicated that it was him. We are in our 60s and are way past any silly stuff, and are also musicians so we enjoy this kind of club. From now on we will stick to the Jazz Club which has sensible employees with a modicum of decorum.More

If you are looking for a fun night out with friends, the Doo Bop Bar is a great venue! Centrally located in the CBD and three venues within the one. We spent time in the Piano Bar and then down to The Basement to watch...some terrific jazz musicians. Great selection of cocktails tooMore

Nice decor. Some fantastic regular musicians. Bar staff are always friendly and prompt to serve. Drink prices okay. Only let-down is the lack of a kitchen - only choice of food is cold-platters. As a bar and music venue this place is an eleven.

Not in the piano bar and jazz bar, but if you are referring to the cafe which is open during daytime then that would be fine I guess. Both the piano bar and jazz bar have live jazz performances in the evening and it can get... More
